  1. Unless you really know what your doing i'd leave it to the pro's

When it goes wriong it really goes wrong and it's quite difficult to rectify again

    Good Luck

Hi my IS200 SE wasn't lucky enough to come with the window tints which are standard on the sport.

Having never had window tints in my previous motors I worry about being able to see old bill behind me, I'm not a big fan of black limo tint so hopefully this wont be too much of a problem?

Also, bearing in mind I'm pretty handy and a perfectionist, would people advise me to get a pro to do it for about £200 (he says he uses the BEST film), or have a pop myself? If I'm at it myself can anyone recommend any film?

    Cheers

  2. I a arrived just before 12.00 shame i mist your car looks a nice spec I did see the blue GS300 and just as i was leaving again around 2.00pm there was a very dirty  Platinum ice is200 pulling in female driver anyone here?

Many thanks from me aswell Tony, I am really pleased that you have been able to check the car and that it could have gone through the British MOT without any problem. The guys had a bit of fun to get it on the ramp :) Thanks for managing to get it on yours between 2 of your apointments B)

GWilso, when did you arrive? I left around 11.30. There was a 1C6 IS200 when I aarived and a dark blue GS300 when I left.

  3. Sorry Tony no geo this time but THANKS for taking care of the brakes today done a great job at a good price and I even got a lift into town so I could take the misses shopping well woth the trip over there

  4. Its called wiper heated not actually a heated screen

Just warms the wiper blades up to stop them sticking to your screen if you look round the outer edge of the glass you will see this

Make sure autoglass know this I had mine done a few weeks back and they brought the screen without the heater system and I had to wait a further week

    Hi,

Just had alook at my IS200 Sport's front windscreen and it doesn't have the wires running through it (it is tinted though) that my Puma's heated windscreen did, I assume the Heated Windscreen is an optional extra?

    Cheers,

  5. Thanks for the info guys

Me being the sort of letter of the law kinda guy I contacted my insurence company the one with all the chickens cluck cluck and explained I wanted to change from the OEM discs and pads

Well heres the answer........ no no no not even for an extra premium.

    Well bang goes that idea

  6. Makes you wonder are Lexus loosing the touch they once had :shutit:

    hi all new member

sorry to hear about your problems, not having the same problems as you but just to say i am also having problems. having already had the dash rattle fixed,on wed morning having driven about 5 miles the dash lite up like a xmas tree and vsc check in the computor screen. rang the dealership no probs got me in straight away got the car back thurs fixed, guess what tonight after driving about 5 miles and less than 25 miles after being sorted its gone again, it was a oxygen sensor they said? well they can have back again tomorrow as having paid over 30k and driving it for only 4500 miles begining to think i made a big mistake

  7. You may have slighlty les power in the lex than the DC5 (very nice by the way) But................ Join lex and you feel like your actually driving a car rather than that bone shaker your currently bankrupt for :whistling:

My view for what its worth with the IS200/300/Sc you get the best of both worlds a fairly quick middle of the road car with all the Family comforts added

Depends what your after i suppose

    Good luck and welcome :winky:

  8. Mintex Xtreme I pressume? seems to be the most favourable option

I've got my heart set on the Tdi DBA 400series discs

Its just what pads to put with them.....What I'm not sure about Is I was looking at the greenstuff premium pads but have seen conflicting posts on the greenstuff pads was just wondering what your thoughts were and any reccomendations or alternatives

Also would OEM pads be any good with theese discs or would it just be a waste of time?

I fitted DBA discs on my IS200 Sport with Mintex pads...great combo, really stop well without too much dusting. Had no problems with them at all.

  10. To elaberate on the topic

    1. I had a minor bump in a car park (no Fault on my part)

    2. the guy asked me to get a qoute which I did £375 and send him the estimate he would pay without involving insurences

    3. Guy did not expect a bill of £375 so we end up going through insurence companies

4.BMW insurence people call me admitting full responsibilty for the accident and will cover all costs therefore I would not need to involve my own insurence

Question is Do I or don't I need to tell them?

    Thanks

    Gordon

  11. I've had the windscreen replaced a few days ago due to a crack and I now have more creeks and rattles than before Coming fom front door(s) area

    Has anyone experienced this before?

i'm wondering if the screen has been fitted correctly? or it's just weeken'd the structure slightly or maybe it just takes time to settle in.

    Any thoughts welcome

    Gordon

  12. Thanks for the info Guys

Just had a visit from autoglass and it would appear that it's not a heated screen as such but called a heated wiper system wich prevents the wipers from sticking to the screen.

Autoglass bought one without the Heated system so I now have to wait a further week with a 30cm crack in front of me

When I claimed on my insurence for this I was ask buy the nice Girl if i had a heated screen I said "I thought so as it hade the metalic lines round the outside"

She replied "in my ten years experience if you don't have the option to switch the front screen heating on/off then you don't have it"

Well I suppose she was sort of right i would have thought that just from the reg number a company like autoglass should have all the correct part details on there system

    Never Mind

  13. 35psi is correct..... the manual suggests 32 but Dr Bones will tell you 35 and I have to agree with him

I have Dunlop SP Sport 3000's all round and the rears have alot of tread and the fronts are due to be replaced in about a month or so.

Tyre Pressures are at 35p.s.i all round aswell.

I havent had the geometry looked at since buying the car in august.

Iam sure your REAR tyre pressures are alittle too high
