1K is that it lol............
I'm thinking of changing from a 220D sel to 250SE
appart from front parking sensors 17" alloys and a few other bits I can probably handle the change
According to Parkers, the difference is about £1k on a '55' plate.........but I guess you can haggle for as much as they'll give you!Why are you thinking of dropping from the SE-L you have to an SE?
-
Very nice indeed I'm in the same boat as you owned my 220d for 2 months and made seven trips to the dealer for repairs,
I can handle the poorish fuel economy but I spend the whole time wondering what will brake next
I currently have a loan of a 250sel Auto for the week as the CD player has packed up on mine
What a car
end story i'm now buying a 250 :D :D

It was me ....... I wish lucky bar steward

Lexus site is down so I can't compare
Simple terms,
A dealer has listed a car I'm interested in as a 250SE-l
Its not an SE-L but an SE the price reflects SE-L prices .....But how much do you think they should be reducing the price buy? I haven't told them this yet

1 Tip walk away.... I bet your bottom dollar you won't get back in your car without having done a deal.
Just stress you love the car your going to buy but your not willing to budge on the px agreement,
Ps did they ask you how many keys you had when you struck the deal (i don't think so) so the issue is really the road tax for the sake of say what £70? they won't let you walk,
Good luck
Spare key,Tax,Mot,service records.... Is all penny's compared to the extra 1500-2000 that they charge compared to a private seller/dealer i don't think they'll be too bothered if your car is not worth going on their forecourt they will just put it to auction they may make it sound like a drama but really its notPersonally buy from a main dealer
Thats my 2ps worth Good Luck
Thank you.
Any tips on what I can say when they try and push the value down on my car as I don't have the Spare Key and only 6 days MOT?
-
Thanks for the info
Sounds a very unusual colour...... I think i like it i've already made enquiry i've had enough of my 220 time for a change 2 months on
what do you think?
http://centres.lexus.co.uk/Dealers/5ce1dfd...ed-000629cecdbf you need to look for the caspsian sky

Is Lexus Capsium sky.....White?

Normally 2-3 Weeks, after 30 days I think you can apply to DVLA to have another one sent out without charge otherwise if I remember rightly it was £15-20 for a new one after that.

Helle mate welcome to the club :D

Having driven both Manual and auto 250s as courtesy cars I strongly recommend you at least test the Auto box before you make your mind up it's impressive I never thought I could bring myself to own an auto but it really is good.
Good Luck

I've not had this personally but there was a post recently where someone else had to be rescued by RAC for steering failure
Another one to add to new IS's growing problems

Grrr
in Altezza Club
Ouch sorry to hear this mate and hope it all gets sorted soon,
it makes you wonder what's going through some off these num nuts heads when they pull of maneuvers like that
Keep us updated

Had my IS200 at 24 now 26 and have a 220D possibly one of the youngest 220 drivers?
-
Yep another problem............ its coming up with disc error on sat nav screen and sounds like its constantly trying to change disc even when the engine is off its still trying to change disc
Tony will get it steering straight & true that's for sure.Re: CD Player
Oh mate not another thing going wrong with it ?
Woof !! Woof !!
-
Tony.
Thanks again for Inviting me up to your brand new center in Chesham and being the first 220 on your shiny ramps it was a nice easy to find location I wish you all the best with your new business venture/location. I'm sure you'll have no problems serving the customers needs with all that top of the range equipment you have especially the Geometry set up and the nitrogen tyre system it was good to have an insight into the world of geometry even if it did bamboozle me
Although off to Oxford tomorrow to have the CD player looked at as it packed up on the way home :shutit: its nice to visit your local Lexus dealer once in a while, especially to let off some steam :tsktsk: AGAIN!!!
Anyway thanks again team and ill see you in a few months,

I currently go by the handbook and have the front tyres set at 35Bar and the rear 38 Bar (220D)
I have a 1000K round trip to Scotland tomorrow 4 of us. 1 a little on the large side plus luggage for all should I be increasing my tyre pressures and what to? any suggestions?
-
I know I know I Know I'm already thinking of cutting my losses my theory is ill lose 1K I paid on the current car,
What I can't decide on is do I stump up another 4K (all my life savings) on a new/ish 250 or go for something lower down the pecking order away from lex? I'm just so angry that Lexus A F****N car manufacture have put me through so much pain and anguish for something that should be a pleasure
I'm just sick of arguing and traveling to and from to have such simple things rectified was ANY TESTING DONE ON THE NEW GEN IS?
........Damaged windscreen, incorrect mileage, car in bodyshop for painting, & now Leather issues ? (plus any I may have forgotten)..............Surely some comeback as you have had the car a month ?
If not pass the Leather info along with everything else from start till now to Lexus GB as your
customer experience with Lexus Cambridge and see what they would suggest your actions should be as it really
doesn't seem like they are embodying "The Pursuit Of Perfection" to me.
Read this again from my post above. Worth a try mate.

I really should read further before I reply on this site I found their get out clause at the bottom of their T&C's as follows
· All Approved Pre-Owned Lexus Car Warranties have the same level of cover as the Lexus new vehicle warranty, with the exception of batteries, interior trim and corroded exhausts. The exact level of cover is detailed on the reverse of the warranty application form and also within your handover pack you receive when purchasing your vehicle
interesting but thats what they told me......Thanks Paul I've printed this of and will be resiting it too them tomorrow ill let you know how I get on although I'm pretty sure there will be further terms and conditionsCheers
Gordon
Paul yes they do................. A mechanical warrantyDont all approved used Lexi come with a years warranty? Are you sure?
From link below:
All Approved Pre-Owned Lexus vehicles are supplied complete with one year's manufacturer's equivalent warranty with unlimited mileage cover.

A Dog my car thats a bit harsh Wozza
But you are right I guess the truth is I probably would'nt be 100% with any 220d not just this one I wish i'd left Lexus altogother in the old days lexus used to be the premium brand but now all the other major players can do just aswell for half the price lesson learnt :shutit: its a shame but i'm sure most will agree
LEXUS HAVE TAKEN QUITE A FEW STEPS DOWN THE LADDER IN THE PAST FEW YEARS
I did tell you a while back to return the car before you accepted it.Damaged windscreen, incorrect mileage, car in bodyshop for painting, & now Leather issues ? (plus any I may have forgotten)
Sounds to me like a dog. Sorry, I know that sounds harsh, but there it is.
On a different note, if the car is just outside Factory warranty, was it not sold as an Approved Used ?
Surely some comeback as you have had the car a month ?

You supply the badges ill be there
Surely a more appropriate petition would be organising a meet outside Lexus Cambridge, all turning up in Lexi and taping BMW badges over the front. That should get the message across.
