  1. I will buy another Lexus from another Lexus dealer, but they will be signing my contracts first Think you have done the right thing but what if they have allready sold your part exchange So will you be buying another Lexus from another dealer
  2. After seeking Advise i'm within my rights to cancell the agreement within 14 days (only on day 6) and receive a full refund and they have indicated that they still have my old car but is that true I don't know? If my car has gone to Auction as it was ment too they need to find the difference to pay back to me it could get really messy but i'm hopping they just back down and do the 70k service
  3. As some of you know my recent purchase IS220D SE-L MM the customer service at Lex Cambridge has not quite been what I expected A quick overview Car advertised with 64109k's on the clock, car ordered with 64109K's on the clock, collect the car a week later to find 65775K's on the clock a difference of some 1600K difference :shutit: As we bartered on the price they said they would sell it cheaper if they did not carry out the 70k service before handover I agreed, so to find when I collect the car that its a lot closer to the 70k service than I expected I cause a stink, I've told them the car was mis sold and that the extra millage has devalued the car so I want the 70k service for free they refuse point blank:unsure: My answer "YOU CAN COME AND COLLECT YOUR BLOODY CAR AND RETURN MY PART EX" I think I got a bit carried away again, The dealer informed me that he will arrange the collection with the center manager tomorrow I hope to god they just finally agree to do the 70k service because I never back down. I just hope they enjoy there 200mile round trip to collect it because if they think I'm returning it to them they got another nice message coming. All this for the sake of a £100 service
  4. Thanks for the input guys You were right Lexus GB weren't much help over the phone but funnily enough 10mins after I got of the phone the dealer rings me back :D Now in the hands of the dealer manager and awaiting some answers, ultimately aiming for the the screen to be replaced and the 70k service to be FREE for the millage adjustment Thanks
  5. I was called 2hrs before collection to say that there was a small problem with the alloys and that would need to return the following week to have them replaced unfortunately I did not realize the cracked screen or the wipers until the journey home but reported back to the dealer straight away I've accepted I'll need to make another 180mile round trip its just a hassle but yes as you say my argument to them is this should have all been resolved before I picked the car up. and the fact I have a cracked screen and dodgy wipers indicates that there "comprehensive pre checks" are pointless but hey have agreed to replace all items quoted(apart from screen they want me to claim on insurance and reimburse me) but keep side swiping my emails RE:millage Cheers Gordon
  6. This might be long winded but bare with me When I bought my used IS220 SEL MM The advertised millage was 64109K I went to test drive a similar model because at the time this one was being prep'd (having a respray)for sale so technically I agreed to buy the car without actually viewing it :shutit: When bargaining with lex Cambridge they were going to have the 70k service done before the handover..... but as it had already had the 60K service a few months prior I told them not to bother just to take a bit more off the asking price which they agreed. When I actually took delivery I failed to immediately notice the millage at 65775 (a massive 1646k difference) I'm trying to now get the 70K service free my misses thinks its petty I've threatened writing to Lex GB (not sure that will make much difference?) as I'd also like to know how they managed that millage in a week. and in case your wondering I do have proof I have the order form when I bought the car @ 64109k and the pre approved technicians check list @65775k. I love the car but Lex Cambridge are really starting to Pxxx me off and thats not good its not just the mileage but other little bits and pieces cracked windscreen, worn wiper blades, having to go back to have alloys replaced and the handbrake is dodgy not what I expect from Lexus. Did i say i love the car
  7. Thanks Nate When I picked the car up on saturday I made the 90Mile run back home mostly motorway stuck between 60-75 in 5th when I left the dealer the MPG average was 19mpg when I got home the mpg average was 34 Ive done a few motorway runs since then trying to stick to 60mph and still can't get more than 34MPG its an 06 SEL-MM 65K on the clock
  8. Sorry Jamboo, Can I ask what your "latest fix" was to reach 40.5MPG had mine 3 days covered 400Mile can't get passed 34.00mpg I was aware the 220d had consumption issues but was guaranteed by dealer to expect 40-44mpg and if i wasn't happy he would change any Parts necessary to achieve this i'm booked in at the weekend to have a possible injector replaced Cheers I mentioned earlier in the thread - the new courtesy car I had (220 Base model) gave me 42mpg. What I didn't mention was, the gearbox was a lot smoother, and it felt as tho 1st had a lot more urgency. Mentioned that to the dealer but fell on deaf ears! They may well have ironed out some of the issues on the new ones. Don't forget that the complaints on here are justified, but equally there are others on here with nothing but praise for the 220d. You're doing the right thing by having one for the day away from the sales rep. What could they have ironed out? All the mods and bits are on mine...I am getting 29-32mpg in town, and on a run on Sunday (earlier than planne) I got 40.5mpg. That's a hanful of MPG better than I got before the latest fix - 210 mile round trip - both at quiet times (we got home at 0400hrs), included M1 50mph bits where the road repairs/lane widens are... I never went above 73mph, used 5th and 6th sensibly... I don't want this to become another "are they really that bad", so please, lets all just these things up with our own dealers!! Some cars are fin, others aren't. Priod. End of. Next topic!
  9. Absaloutly 0 feedback i'd be very wary
  10. Thanks for all the kind words folks But can anyone address the issues I raised on fuel consumption? should i ask for more than the 5th injector to be replaced? Thanks Gordon
  11. Thanks keith oh and ill include pic's of trevor the teddy :winky:
  12. Sorry no pictures as yet, I took delivery on Saturday have to say loving the car and the toys but already I have some concerns Biggest one being yep you guessed consumption, ive done around 100mile of motorway and only averaged a max of 34.00mpg so the computer tells me but when i watch the meter thing on the trip computer thats sits around 50-60mpg? I've only used around half a tank so far so its hard to get a true reading on it i knew there had been problems with the fuel economy but I was guaranteed by the dealer to easily expect 40-44mpg Secondly the cabin is very quiet and refined but the second you step out with the engine running it sounds like a tank anyone else's like this? its enough to wake my neighbor's when i leave for work at 5.00am This was a used car and I'm due to head back to the dealer in a week or so to have the alloys replaced a scratch buffed out the windscreen to be replaced i just want iron out any potential problems in one go should i ask for this 5th injector to be replaced? anything else I should be looking out for? Did i say i was loving the car
  13. Keith you really are a legend Lexus cambridge just came back to me and took the Gap insurance from £399 - £279 so you saved me £120 thanks mate I owe you one Gordon
  14. I had a pretty good go at ****** of the dealer too when i bought this as I never quite got the price PX i wanted so i made sure i made up for it in other ways Such as full tank of diesel 12mths Tax and retaining my current tax disc on the px, Oh and my misses went bright red when i demanded the lexus teddy they have in the window as part of the deal
  15. Thanks mate Gap insurance wasn't something I was aware you could haggle on so thats a good tip ill let you know how i get on Thanks Again Gordon
  16. After my new purchase Lexus offered me their GAP insurance which I am keen on but they want £399 for 3yrs.... there are a lot of companies out there offering this at a dam site cheaper rate than Lexus most around the £150 mark I know Lexus may be that bit more comprehensive but insurance is insurance Does anyone on here have any recommendations on aftermarket GAP insurance or ever had to use it any views appreciated Don't get me wrong I'm not on a money saving mission but if i can save almost £250 buy using someone else for the same policy then why not Cheers Gordon
  17. I'll look into that cheers mate
  18. Can't wait I bought probably my best car yet IS220d SE-L MM 06 Silver (will also be sad to see the old IS go its been good to me) Its done high mileage for the age hence the reason it was the cheapest priced SE-L in the country the amount of toys and things to play with are just out of this world I appreciate there are some mixed views on the 220d fuel consumption but hey I've been driving the old IS for two years so I think I can live with 35-40MPG I look forward to asking you all the questions when I take delivery but I do have one question now on behalf of the wife can you watch DVD's whilst on the Move on that screen? Cheers Gordon
  19. Thanks for the info Shake, However I have taken a small step back I think the comments on build quality and ware and tare are true on the Saab even though this model is fairly new with little miles I need it to last me at least 5 possibly even 6 years So i'm now looking at keeping with the Lexus brand (Purely for realiability)Possibly 220d No trim around the 14K mark OH AND IF I CHANGE MY MIND MUCH MORE I FEAR I MAY GO MAD Thanks everyone and watch this space
  20. Only a base spec and that wouldn't suit me
  21. Thanks mate was hoping for a little support :winky: Oh and it has N/A against all the spec's so just for info....... 0-60 7.4 TS 146 avg fuel about 36MPG HIRSCH means its lowered, has sports styling kit upgraded brakes and pedals and chiped to 195BHP
  22. Thanks Ian thats fine I sort of agree I must admit really do like the car (even if it is a Vectra) but biggest downer for me is interior its just a bit bland hopefully its something ill bet used to But thanks for your input
  23. As I've already mentioned on here before its time for me to upgrade my motor. I automatically looked at another lex possibly the the IS300 but whilst Browsing showrooms etc etc I keep straying and looking at other brands such as volvo,Saab etc etc sorry I got the buying bug whilst in a Saab showroom today and come across this I'm just playing the waiting game now as they still need to find another £900 off the asking price before I commit hopefully ill get the call tomorrow this has had the engine upgrade from the typical 1.8 sport to 195bhp. Now that I'm out of the showroom and have my thinking cap back on i just wanted to ask your opinion of it is it something you would consider? Remember be gentle if you click link its the HIRSCH model 11cars down http://www.hughes-saab.co.uk/default.asp?docId=17457
