A perk from Lexus Edinburgh - if you get a quote through their insurer, you get 1 weeks free insurance and a good quote - this allows you to get a cover note to them with no issues (sent by the insurer immediately), a week to sort your own insurance and your road tax etc is arranged no worries. Brian :) Glasgow does have an area in the showroom for collection, although their dealership is very cramped and they really do need to change premises. When I collected my car I got diddly....no flowers or chocolates for the missus, not even a Lexus brolley :shutit: I'll let you know ifI get anything. The salesperson has been excellent, phoning often to keep me informed etc. One of the main reasons I bought my car from Lexus Edinburgh (as opposed to Glasgow) is the reviews of the dealership experience on here. I am due to pick up my IS220d Sport on Thursday or Friday from Lexus Edinburgh. Can't wait. Got my free insurance arranged today, etc. so all should go according to plan. Car due at the dealer tomorrow. Does Lexus Glasgow (or Edinburgh if you know) have a "handover" bay that some forums users have spoken about? What do you/did you get with the car when you collected it? Brian [:)]

Thanks for that. I think the ones I saw on the forecourt all had Bridgestone Potenza's on them (same as my Impreza). Not sure what the 18's would be as none were in stock. Brian :)

Thanks for that. 6th gear on the sport is achievable at 50+MPH though - that is one of the main reasons (as well as the car I'm coming from) for getting the Sport diesel. I will certainly take it easy on the car for a while. I will undoubtedly take a while to loosen up and achieve its' potential. Brian :)

Hi all, Sport owners (Diesel or Petrol) - what tyres are fitted to the 18's fitted as standard in the UK to the Sport? Brian :)

Hi All, What are your tips (or those from Lexus) for running in my 220 DIESEL when it arrives? What have any other diesel owners done, or been advised to do - just the usual varying RPM and speeds for 1000 miles or so? ALSO, anyone done an early oil change @ say, 1000 miles? I know my Impreza certainly had to have a 1000 miles oil service from new. Brian :)

I hope my Sport is a bit better with the different gearbox ratios. Just needs kept on the boil - should be easier than the long legged standard box I test drove. Brian.

Lexus Edinburgh have been VERY good, as has salesman Sebastien Zamora. The ivory matching mats are with the car, but he phoned today to tell me, amongst other things, that they were going to give me a set of black Lexus mats too, to keep the ivory ones clean and tidy when the weather was poor. Now that I like :) Also, gong to arrange 1 weeks free insurance for me to cover the car for taxing purposes and allow me time to insure it properly - quality! Brian :)

Brian :) Fine, its still spotless, the only problem I had was when it came back from the dealers dirty after some warranty work!! They got a professional valeter to clean it in the end. But I find a clean washing up sponge and plain water is best at getting out any marks. PS defo the best colour combo IMO :winky: Thanks for that - the combo is 100% my choice but was total luck in getting it, and on the boat already! Can't wait for it to arive now. Only unexpected was the sunroof - not something I would have specced up. Brian :)

Hi All, Hello to me - newbie - moving from a modified 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX to a 220d Sport - a bit of a shift but right for me. Should be in the country within the next week. I will post up pictures and thoughts when I get it - CAN'T WAIT!!! I am a moderator for the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club forums so I am no stranger to forums and posting - I am sure I will build on my post count rapidly over the next while. I have also joined as a GOLD member too :D The car is a new 220d sport, Cadoxton Slate with a Lipary Ivory interior (with sunroof) and is being purchased from Edinburgh Lexus, salesman Sebastien Zamora. Service so far has been excellent. Anyway, I'll now go and lurk in the shadows and read what you all have to say. Bye for now Brian :)
