If this is the "standard" OEM Pioneer-mnufatures unit....rip it out! :D Its not that hard to replace with an ordinary aftermarket HU ;)

Mine did have a slight hint of a grinding noise when i bought the car. But apparently it had been parked for quite a while on the Leuxs dealers lot...and after a few weeks the sound was gone. Its been two years since i bought it...and the sound hasnt returned..knock on wood ;)

Old thread..but i really need to know! :D What wire did you hook up to the el. antenna? To make it extend/retract in accordance wih the new player?

The most important question then would be...does anyone on here have the code? :)

Regarding your antenna-troubles...youre gonna have to buy a new antenna-shaft that has a complete "plastic cord" :) The grinding noise youve heard is most likely the antenna-motor not being able to grap the cord...cause its broken...

Nahh...i bought the oem-item...and from what i remember it was pretty inexpensive ;)

As far as i know there arent any digital maps of Latvia...yet. There are two major digitalmap companies in the world...Teleatlas and Navteq, and neither of them has Latvia included on any of their europe-maps...sorry... This is the reason i sourced a GS300 WITHOUT navigasion for myself...because i knew it didnt support my country either...so im going to install an aftermarket one come summer :)

Buy an aftermarket unit...you know you want to! :D Ive ordered the new Pioneer Avic D3 myself ;)

Ill buy your grille if you decide to change it ;)
