  1. MK1 Black with 10" rears and a trick multimedia set up. Not met reserve yet though. item number 200475488487
  2. I have in my possession a front bumper decal for the mk1 sport. I am waiting to have the bumper re-painted before i install it. The only reason i have it is that it came with a brochure i bought from ebay. It is a real item(sticky on the back of the lettering) and the part number is as elusive as a cat's bark. I went through the same process as you when i wanted to replace my quarter light versions. If you don't require the raised version i have use for it, pm me?
  3. My brother and i will be up for this so that's 2 more Lexi :)
  4. I know the geometry is slightly out after i had a new balljoint fitted. Just wanted a quick fix ;)
  5. Anyone know how to remove the airbag covering safely? I'm trying to turn it afew degrees as it's not quite straight. Is it splined or hexagonal type? Cheers
  6. Fit a Toyota Supra twin turbo engine to GS 300 mk 1? Presumably it would take up the same amount of room in the engine bay but would the gearbox/ torque converter need uprating?
  7. Yeah , me too! Mine is really intermittent. Sometimes i can blip it from a couple of metres away and other times i have to try four or five times from zero distance??? I tried the reset thing too...
  8. My alarm started going off in the middle of the night without the hazards flashing. Local Lex dealer traced it back to a corroded siren. Hope this helps Steve
  9. Fixed! It was the bulb in the end. I suppose that's only right as that bulb gets used the most.
  10. As i said, the filament of the bulb was not broken although that is not to say the bulb isn't faulty. Couldn't be simpler to remove clocks. First drop steering wheel to lowest position then pop the dimmer dial panel off towards you with a blunt plastic tool. Release multiplug. You will then see the 2 lower screws (the 2 uppers have access holes) Undo all four and use plastic tool to work dials toward you and release 3 multiplugs. Job done! :)
  11. I thought i would strip down my dash clocks to remove a rather annoying bug that had lodged itself under the rev counter. All went well, it was delightfully simple for a high tech car..... until i reinstalled it and the 'D' or drive indicator light did not illuminate, although the rest did. I have checked the bulb and the connections seem fine. Any ideas gratefully received.
  12. The 'r' stands for reinforced. I tried a set on my cossie and they were superb when scrubbed in!
  13. I had the same problem. Local garage found that brake shoe carrier was seized (£91 from Lexus!) which caused uneven pad wear aswell. So new pads and new fluid +bleed £217 altogether. Should pick up tomorrow and cant wait to see what the brakes are like when they work properly!
  14. I recently discovered that this model had a 'Sport' sticker on the nearside front lower bumper. Anybody still have theirs intact?
  15. I have one missing on mine so rang Lexus dealer today who said they were not fitted as standard. The strange thing is they seem to follow the contours of the car too well for aftermarket parts. Anyone shed some light on this? Steve.
  16. Just had mine done for £200. Definately makes the difference!
  17. Hi there. I have just bought a mk1 GS 300 sport and the boot struts were shot on mine too! Bought mine new from lexus Hedge end (ouch).... I'm a stickler for originality. It now has the same effect as Keith Bowlers.
  18. Does anyone know of a company/ supplier that can provide a surround for a double din touchscreen tv? Preferably in wood effect. Cheers.
  19. Bought my car for £4800. New mats, boot struts, spare key, wipers and decals £500. Window tint £200. sat nav, dvd, tv, i-pod and headrest screens £1800. mmmmm.... £7300 for a handsome fully sorted limo. Not bad!
  20. Does anyone know of a place that that does a proper service i.e dips and strips, alloy weld and then spray lacquer to original colour? I rang a couple today and they sounded well sketchy!
  21. Buy a cup holder the same as you have in the front and take it with your arm rest to a trimmer. Should be able to do it for less than £40. I've often wondered if the mk1 LS 400 rear armrest would fit....
