  1. Yet again, cheers Jamboo, you sure are a top man! Off surfing now Cheers
  2. Cheers for advice Jamboo - have you got any suggestions where I could get the glaze and wax? Thanks
  3. Well, had a response from Lexus Bristol to the question. In short, ECU has had the new flash update when car arrived at dealership and 5th injector is latest off production line Plus, even better news, now getting car a day earlier than expected next week. CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!! :D Thanks for all the replies - very much appreciated!
  4. Sorry, forgot to add, mine is a company one as well and I could have had our normal company install a car kit but from past experience, they do not always do a good job, especially when you want it connected up to the stereo. Our MD had to have a brand new stereo on his BMW 5 series after they had messed it up....... Costs me more as ups the P11D value of the car whereas Inland Revenue do not include (or haven't with me) post delivery car kits in the value of the car
  5. Hi there I too am getting my new IS220D next week and have the lexus bluetooth fitted by the dealer (in fact it has been fitted as I went looking at the car last night, sad I know!) Cost was £499, including VAT and fitting and looks very smart to be honest, tucked out of the way on the right hand side of drivers side, by light switch Does not include a cradle or anything, just bluetooth control unit, goes through the stereo etc so I am told. Not too bothered about lack of cradle, have purchased a car charger for phone - less holes etc!
  6. Thanks for the excellent reply Jamboo, fully taken on board And no, I cannot wait, was even down at the dealers last night drooling over the car, even though not fully prepped yet, looks stunning in the Messa Red & Black interior Roll on next Thursday.......... Cheers
  7. I had an IS200 a few years back, not supplied by Bristol but serviced it there throughout ownership, never had a single problem with them to be honest so the student incident may have been a one off, everyone has a bad day in the office, I know I do regularly! Anyway, back to my original post, is it just a case of asking then re the updates? I assume there is no easy way of checking myself? Thanks
  8. Yes, sorry, should have mentioned, it is a brand new 57 plate model, coming from Lexus Bristol who appear to be quite sound to be honest!
  9. I'd appreciate the advice please of the many well clued up members of this forum if possible...... Taking delivery on the 6th Sept of my long awaited 220D SE (should have been October so well chuffed :D ), need some advice on how I can tell if following have been applied to the new car other than taking the salesmans word on them:- ECU Remap 5th Injector Change Rattle Fixes Any pointers appreciated - thanks!
  10. And mine will also be the Mesa Red / Black Pembroke Leather - only 74 days to go.........and counting......
  11. Does anyone know or think if these mods will be standard on newly built cars? My order is currently in and is a factory build - still 3 to 4 months away from receiving car - so would be interested to know if it will come as 'standard' Thanks.....
  12. I'm green with jealousy Lexboy - mine's on order but looking at 3 - 4 months due to colour / interior combination I've gone for. On the colour choice / cleaning, I've currently got a big black 7 seater - like everyone says, crap to keep clean, used to take me best part of half a day to clean and then polish to get rid of the streaks. However, year or so ago, I invested in the old 'flash car wash' kit, absolutely brilliant once you get the hang of it, can clean the car in under an hour, no drying, streaking and car looks stunning for days afterwards. Expensive for a big car like mine as need a new drying cartridge virtually every clean but well worth it in my opinion, especially if you take pride in your car. Sad thing is, getting harder and harder to get the shampoo / drying cartridges now, not many stockists out there Anyway, enjoy your car!
  13. 4 months? I feel for you. I placed my order for a Cadaxton Slate with silver leather (no MM) last Thursday, it came into Portbury Docks yesterday and I'm getting it Thursday - 7 days from order to delivery. I find it hard to believe they don't have a red 220d knocking about. :tsktsk: Lucky so and so!! Appears that my combination is one of only a few that there is such a long wait for. Pass Portbury Docks ever day to and from work.....will have to pop in.......
  14. Right, my order is finally in after many sleepness nights deciding on colour and driving my fleet manager mad keep changing my mind....... Going for IS220D SE Mesa Red, Black Leather, order is placed so no changing my mind now, bad thing is 4 month delivery time and knowing my luck the damn thing will fall off the ship on its way across........ Didn't go for the MM option as it would have meant making personal contributions (tight sod I know) and wifey wasn't impressed with the idea.......... Anyway, onto the real reason for my post........ I've read lots in the forum about problems with the 220D, 5th injector, remaps etc - question is, will these be resolved in my new model does anyone know? Must admit, the 220D I test drove for a few days was superb to say the least, could find no faults at all, thought the whole car was 100% right, even the gearing and boy, does it shift! Also, anything in particular I should look out for on delivery to indicate known faults that have not been rectified in the model I receive? And finally, anyone know how to wind the clock forward quickly 4 months???????!!!!
  15. Thanks - I'm going for the black leather interior too, as you say, will be far easier to stay looking clean, especially with young kids Roll on 4 months.............
  16. Thanks Wallace, looks a superb colour in your picture, think I'm going to go for that and place my order tomorrow! Thanks to everyone for being so helpful - really appreciated! :)
  17. GJD, I can assure you there is a metallic black. I'll try taking some pics this evening and posting. If not this evening then this weekend. I specifically asked for metallic black but I was told there are two types, flat / matte black and metallic black. The metallic black has got this shine to it that makes the car look about 20% better than the matte black in my opinion. if there is a metallic black available, would be interested, as you say, sod to keep clean but black does have that something about it....... Thanks
  18. I'm swaying again!! Is there a metallic black available? Thought it was only basic flat black?
  19. Many thanks for the quick comments- very much appreciated Think that has just about made my mind up to go for the Messa Red - looks very impressive and think the comment about Photoshop was right - picture looks different (and better) again on my home PC. Only 4 months to wait now so I'm told by local Lexus dealership...... :(
  20. Thanks for the pic - certainly does look an impressive colour. Nearly decided!! Does look very different to some of the other pictures I've seen knocking about for the so called red colour (attached example)......is this the same colour or for a different region maybe?
  21. Wonder if anyone out there can help me in my dilemma please........ Having previously had a wonderful IS200 that I had to swap for a diesel bus (Seat Alhambra) due to mainly fitting the family into one car plus being close to losing my licence (naughty I know) I'm now in the market for my next company car. Have decided 99.99% to go with the IS220D SE, fits nicely into my company car banding, hardly any difference on tax when compared with the Seat and I just love the whole Lexus experience. Was initially having 2nd thoughts after reading the so called experts reviews on the engine but you guys have managed to give me confidence, plus the test drive was perfectly OK, plenty of power when compared to what I'm used to - 130BHP TDI bus.......... My dilemma then is quite simple - what colour should I have?! I really do need to have the black leather interior - cannot see any other option with young kids! Initially liked the Windsor blue, looked out of this world in the showroom but having seen one on the road, not so keen as it looked very dull, didn't have so much of the 'wow' factor. Now thinking about the Mesa Red but haven't seen one around - not sure if this is good or bad? Ideally, would love the black but as it's not metallic not so keen plus the Seat is black and is abysmal to keep clean. My previous IS200 was in the T????? red - the one that was sort of burnt orange (although my staff swore blind it was pink!). Give me some inspiration please, going out of my mind here (and driving my fleet manager up the wall keep changing my mind!!) Thanks in advance.....
