  1. Hi, What oils and fluids need to be changed in the rx300 mk2 / 2nd gen. Now i know, the engine oil and filter needs to be done. On the ATF dipstick, it states that it is long life, or something along those lines. My query is that when looking through the 'warranty and care' booklet it says that the transfer oil and the rear diff oil need doing. How easy a job are these? Also, is there not a front differential? ATF fluid...rear dif oil...transfer oil... :duh: Thanks.
  2. Yeah your right, it was originally bought from lexus Chester.
  3. Ive heard about this, couldnt really believe it could be free. Hence the thread. Probably has some clause which states, gotta be under warranty blah blah or purchased directly from that lexus dealer blah blah.
  4. A new one or second hand? second hand, not from lexus garage either.
  5. I recently bought my Rx, On the front windscreen the is a little sticker saying "free wash every Saturday for life". Has anyone else got this? Is this lexus? or is this a third party company sticker? Cheers
  6. Dont quote me on this, but i was reading rumours from other and various forums. The rumours being that from dec 2011 MOT check list will be updated so all cars which have HIDs fitted will need either self-leveling headlights and / headlamp washers. If they have neither, it will fail. So make sure you put your standard bulbs back in before your mot.
  7. sorted it. Had to fold the seatbelt, and slide the buckle over fold.
  8. Is my drivers seatbelt facing the wrong way? As it always has a slight twist in it either across the chest, or across the abdomen. This is a pic of the seatbelt retracted, see how the buckle is facing the 'A' pillar not the seat. http://img651.imageshack.us/i/dscf0248g.jpg/ see the twist in the abdomen part. http://img402.imageshack.us/i/dscf0251bj.jpg/] This is the passengers side, see how the buckle is facing the seat and not the 'A' pillar. http://img403.imageshack.us/i/dscf0252h.jpg/
  9. cheers for the reply, I will have a play see how it goes.
  10. Hi all Is there a way of stopping the touch screen display reverting to the map after about a minute of not touching it. For example, i wanted to leave the screen showing the heater/fan position/speed. But after a minute or so it reverts the screen back to the map. Cheers.
  11. If it is just condensation, try this little trick. get a towel, fold a couple of times and put over affected light. Put dipped and main beam headlights on, leave for about 10 mins. I got the little tip of these boards a couple of years back and it worked for me. Hope this helps.
  12. So have done about 7500 on it

  14. So far so good, Only upto 102k so far.

  15. The ones on my IS, are called lexus parking aid, LPA400. I have two part numbers you could try LPZ464-00420-AB and LPZ464-K0421-00 Hope this helps.
  16. These are quotes taken from my warranty and care booklet (service book) Surface rust and paintwork. The warranty offers 3 years of cover for surface rust and paint defects appearing on any of the painted body panels due to a fault in material or workmanship. Corrosion perforation 12 years of coverage is provided against bodywork perforation (i.e. any holes through the bodywork from inside to outside) due to corrosion that is attributable to faults in material or workmanship. Hope this helps.
  17. Right.... 6 months ago my IS went into a lexus dealer to have reverse sensors fitted. After the job, out came the lexus VSR. It stated "front strut bars bushes wear" 2hr job £458 !! I thought no chance! A month later i put it into a toyota dealer to have its yearly service. Out came the VSR, all clear, I thought great. I get a phone call today, off supposedly the lexus dealer i went to have the sensors fitted, the number area code was 01527, which i believe to be in the redditch area. So not directly from the dealer i went to. They guy on the other end mention that they had noticed the VSR's "front strut bars bushes wear", And could i come in for a free check to see if they need to be replaced. Surely if they mentioned it on the VSR, they wanted to replace them. So why would they want me to go back for a free check to see if they need replacing. Sounds like they are looking for jobs? What do you guys think?

  22. ...or before removing any parts, get a towel, fold it over a couple of times. Place over effected headlight, turn on main and full beams for about 10 mins. That should clear any condensation. Worked for me, and i got the tip from here.
  23. Depends what the 5 digit model number above the 'TXT' button is?
  24. Yeah, ive done all that. Got a double din no-make touch screen dvd/cd/mp3/sd/usb player. But i just like the standard look. I think i will probably head towards the grom ipod adapter way.
