  1. Maybe the light spread is configured for left-hand drive? ...just speculation...
  2. Oswaldtwistle, pronounced 'ozzletwistle' by the locals, is a great one. Nige
  3. I went along to Bracknell hoping to catch a glimpse, but you didn't turn up... :winky:
  4. OK, You had me for most of your post, but you pushed it too far with this extravagent claim! Nige
  5. Yikes! This thread is making me feel old; I know that's wrong because I'm only 36. Currently living in Swindon, but actually a [south] Yorkshireman who has moved slowly south. Nige

    Top Gear

[WARNING: contains late night rant] Hi, I've only passengered in a (latest-revised-suspension) SC430, but I thought it was great. The rear seat thing is ridiculous, but that's the norm for a 2+2 - an upholstered boot extension. The outside styling takes some getting used to, but so what? If it was bland it would be criticised for that instead. The interior luxury & quality is superb. Top Gear had a pop at the SC430 because of 'on the limit' performance, which is missing the point. I bought my Lexus (an IS) because it is 'Fast and Luxurious' :) , I could have bought something faster, but what's the point with UK limits and enforcement? As for the Hyundai, who exactly is it that thinks it looks like a Ferrari? It certainly isn't me. If you've got an SC, hang in there. The British viewing sheep, sorry, public, that are currently hanging on Top Gear's every word will follow the usual trajectory and soon have him in the 'uncool' column. You've made the right choice. Top Gear's (read: Jeremy Clarkson's) comments about Lexus are far more to do with Lexus riding high in surveys such as JD Powers (and therefore there to be shot down) than performance, reliabliity, value, and even kudos. You made the right choice. Clarkson's SLK cost nearly twice as much, and those of you that don't have daily access to a race-track (subsidised by TV licence payers or otherwise) will have more than enough performance for the public roads. 7. I got mine up 30 mins after getting home Hi, I've posted 2 or 3 that can add to what Fidgits has already posted, nice work Fidgits ;-) As I said on the other thread, great to meet you all. My first meet, but won't be my last. JAE now in my diary :) Nige
  8. Hi, Adeel, sorry you received bad news and couldn't attend. Take care mate. To those that could make it, thanks for welcoming me to my first meet. I really enjoyed it and it was great to put cars to names, oh... and faces too :) Extra thanks to Claire for the organisation :) Lessons learnt for my second meet: 1) Take along a chamoix leather to regularly shine-up and not let down the club concourse. 2) Get some 'less than embarrassing wheels' On the plus side, it give me a chance to win the award for 'most improved wheels' next meet :) Again, great to meet you all! Cheers, Nige
  9. Fargo, as Neil's made his choice, you could always go for L6XSS £250, all in! :D Nige
  10. Cool, don't bother with H*****ds etc for your plates, just point your browser at FancyPlates and you'll get what you want, no probs :winky: Nige
  11. Looks great, hope it see it in the metal on Sunday. BTW, you need a chrome exhaust trim...
  12. Hi folks, I hope to make it along too, my first meet! See you there! Nige
  13. Cool, and only £250, go for it.
  14. Count me in, but I'll be away on business from 1st ->12th June. Nige
  15. A Wiltshire/Swindon micro-meet sounds good. Any thoughts on date/location? This Saturday could work for me, maybe I just ought to get along to Bracknell on Sunday :) Nige
  16. Hi, I notice that some new (and unmodded) ISs have smoked rear lights. Now, this might go against popular opinion, but to me it just likes there's been a blown bulb Are these standard on all new ISs, an option, or does it depend on the colour? Thanks, Nige
  17. "I hope no-one steals my white horse while I'm here."
  18. "I thought he said, 'will you help me move house'!"
  19. Bad luck indeed Neil. I know I had to bend the bumper significantly in that area to fit my sports grille (as per the instructions). I was concerned that I'd see a similar problem and so was very careful. I'd say it's likely to be a fitting problem rather than a pre-delivery bump, which I know you've suffered from before :-( Nige
  20. If I'm in the mood for a burger, then I'd seek out a Burger King before a McD's. Also, if you're ever in the States, try out an 'In-N-Out Burger' they are excellent. I have friends who wouldn't go near a fast food place ordinarily, but really rate In-N-Out burgers. Nige
  21. Wasn't their some woman called that on 'Dynasty'. Bet the DVLA thinks that was real, and hopes some oil-tycoon will come in and buy it for his wife to make up for his latest infidelity :) Nige
  22. Anything like this usually goes for auction. According to the DVLA site, the 02 plate is being withheld for auction. The 51 isn't available, so perhaps that has been already auctioned. Nige
  23. Looks superb Chris, bet the rear view looks great when the quad conversion lights are ablaze on the red car :) Nige
  24. Check out my before and after shots on this thread. IMO, the sports grille is a great improvement, subtle but effective. It's a few months since I changed mine to the Sports grille, but it still makes me smile. I now think the standard one looks... :shutit: I agree that it's a shame the sport badge doesn't come off (it's sort of moulded onto the grille). Nige
  25. That's terrible Craig, you must be gutted. Nige
