  1. only reason i asked is because in the mx5 community the intercooler method is a bit.. well limited, the problem with superchargers and intercoolers is that you increase throttled volume and therefore efectively lower the boost, was just thinking about you making 0.5 bar (you never get much of SC's compared to tubbys anyways) and that is pretty respectable, im just a supercharger addict and your project has me very interested :D kudos to you.... :D
  2. emanage ultimate has auto tune on it, although its not perfect, it doesnt do to bad a job. gives a very good base anyway and then you can just fine tune it :D do you need to uprate the fuel pump too? (as i say i know little about the is200) just looking at your spec Gord, (which is mighty impresive) can i ask why you went for an intercooler? in no way do i ask as a critisism, just wondering why you opted for it over something such as water injection??
  3. well, when i supercharged the eunos i got my EMB brand new for £169 got a good deal there admitidly, but i have seen them sell for 100, mapping can be done yourself with a laptop. it is daunting but trust me if i could pick it up pretty much anyone could... admitidly i would recomend a knock sensor for this, actually you would need a wideband o2 for the tuning too so i can see your point.. the costs would escalate... interesting problem (the sort i like, ill have a think over a glass of vino :))
  4. i would bet its not running the standard box, i have seen a few with supra 6 speed boxes and that can definately handle that sort of power :D
  5. not sure how relivant my experience of supercharging is as the mazda engine is pretty different to what they have in the front of the IS200, but when it comes to fueling cant you use something along the lines of the Emanage Blue? i cant think of a reason why that wouldnt work.. much better way of controlling the fueling than using an AFPR or similar (feel free to shoot me down if im way off the mark, im not familiar with the is200 lump, just going from my experience with adding superchargers to cars) took to long to type this, threads moved on ;) sorry lol
  6. i have owned a lot of black cars... those automated car washes are bad and definately mark the cars, nothing shows it up more than a black car.
  7. i feel your pain, i run an e-commerce site myself and the whole fraud thing is a nightmare.. we tried paypal (that sucked) world pay was just as bad and now we use protx the system is VSP and its quite simple really, providing the VSP check gives me all green lights and i follow the rules i can send goods with no fear at all, if it does come back as fraud at a later date then protx deal with it.. not me. there are down sides though. its so strict that a lot of genuine orders are delayed or refused because of the posibility of fraud.... we lost over £90k last year in fraud orders though so its worth it for us. hope you manage to find something that works for you mate,
  8. now thats a good answer! cheers mate, now i understand what its trying to do i will have another play with it tonight on the way home from work :D
  9. nice motor congrats :D
  10. thanks, i couldnt tell a difference with the power button at all... pads have been checked today and the rears are a tad low so ill have them out at the weekend and swapped over. cheers for the help :D
  11. aye thats a nice looking one that... cant beat a jap can in white, always does it for me! :D
  12. Ooooo ill have to get some pics at the weekend anyway, ill have a crack then :D
  13. Hello, thread number 2 for me and im sad to say its a question thread... i have tried searching but i will be honest im a bit of a numpty with computers and cant quite find what im looking for. Righty, problem 1 is sometimes when breaking on the way home last night the handbrake light would give me a little flicker... would you guys agree with me that this is most likely an early indication my rear brake pads are going to need changing? if so, where do you think the best place to get them is? i assume there the same as on the IS200, i only ask because previous experience has told me its best to ask the people in the know rather than just taking the plunge. my driving is pretty sedate, no track time really but occasionally i do like to push a little harder.. recomendations are welcome :D number 2 isnt really a problem, but i have never owned an auto before and i have some confusion..... i have a button next to the gear lever which says power (power nct lights up on the dash when its pressed) what does this button too? also there is a little red button with japanese writing next to it, on other cars i have seen it says "shift lock" but what does this do? sorry for the "herbert" questions guys, ill try not to make a habbit of it Chimp
  14. Im basicly right next to southampton airport mate, on the border of mansbridge and swaythling :D always good to have a local near by... im thinking Mod days already! thanks for all the warm welcomes, seems like a pretty nice community this :D ill have to get to a meet soon and put faces to the names. Now, please excuse me, but i need to just slip off to the Altezza forum and post my first problems thread
  15. Woohoo janey!! :D damn nice to see you again! think i prefered your avatar on mx5nutz though hun ;) lol thanks everyone for the kind hello's, unfortunately the little one (not that i would be without him ofcourse) means i dont quite have the modifying budget that i did with the roadster, im going to start with the suspension and get it handling like i want, then its away with the stock exhaust and on with something that sounds a bit more sporty.. keeping things simple this time ;) oh and then forced induction ;) there is a big gap above the exhaust manifold where a tubby would fit perfectly :D (not to sure how the auto box would handle that though..) be a fair way off all the serious mods mind as i would want to take the beams lump upto a 2.2 before going FI... i need to win the lotto!
  16. Just thought i would say hello.. My name is steve, im 26, im from southampton in hampshire and im a petrol head... :D yesterday i got my hands on my new car, its a 1998 altezza RS200 Z edition (boring one lol) with the E shift box. im chuffed with it :D i have lurked on here for the last couple of weeks reading all the usefull information you guys have on here and now i have the car i thought i had best say hello to the community. i became obsessed with jap motors with my MX5 (imported) and once the modding started it was hard to stop, she finished up life nicely supercharged at around 180 BHP which isnt to shabby in a light car like that :D anyway without making a long story even longer when my good lady announced she was pregnant we needed something a bit more practical... so i bought a 360bhp Imprezza STi which had everything you could think of done to it.... (not a very practical choice at all but it did have 4 seats lol) but after my little boy was born the error of my ways was all to clear, so now we have the Altezza. what a fantastic car, its not the fastest thing i have ever driven but there is so much potential there, ill get some pics up soon of the altezza in its unmolested state before i start fettling with everything :D
