  1. yup the T10 wedge bulb is the same for the sidelight :D
  2. ahh righty, just done this mod myself.... did you lighly sand the LED with some very fine wet and dry? this difuses the light and spreads it out a bit and helps, but cheap LEDS (in blue) from my experience can be a bit... dull. i got some T10 wedge LEDs but instead of being just 1 led on the wedge its 4... UBER BRIGHT! :D have a look on ebay at item number 200165255392 and you will get the idea :D
  3. im a salesman..... currently selling hand and power tools :D
  4. i dont think i have every really named a car in the most common way, the roadster i refered to as... "THE CHIMP-MOBILE" i always called the subarau "the scooby" i do treat my cars like women, and refer to them as such, im not sure why all my cars have been female, maybe its the way that they love me one day, and the next they just dont want to know and wont tell me whats wrong! lol i dont think there is anything wrong with naming your car, as wyliecoyote points out cars do have charachter, surely we have all owned a dog of a car... (i have had several, mainly french too!) yes at the end of the day it is only a posesion, but cars are a reflection into there owner, there is nothing wrong with loving / being proud of your car and showing that by naming the car :D
  5. wasnt sure where to post this, but decided on here, apologies if its in the wrong place. Have you ever had one of "those" drives, my last two cars ended up pretty modified and something gets lost in all the mods, you get the fear when you start pushing the boundries a bit, you dont unleash everything because your wondering if a pistion will pop out the top of the engine or if the clutch will melt. for the first time in months on the 15 mile back road journey home i was actually in a car i could truely enjoy, i redlined several times, i pushed the car and enjoyed myself, im so pleased with the tezza, she pulls wonderfully for just a NA 2ltr and although its much slower than what im used too it gave me more smiles tonight than i have had since my love affair begain with my roadster! there is more to life than chasing big BHP, there is just plain simple driving goodness, the scooby was silly quick, but it just didnt feel the same as this, there is something about nailing a bend perfectly, squeezing on the power and just getting it all so right. im not a total lunatic, i just enjoy driving within my limits and the cars limits, as im sure everyone does. im sorry for the totally irelivant post, its spam i know, but i wanted to share with the world my new found love... :D now, i need to get some ARBs, a decent coilover setup some GOOD tyres and then start saving up for a supercharger setup! :D here i go again!
  6. ahh, i have found out something new today then Ryo. :D i hope you dont take offense to any of the above. im not digging at any emplyee of royal mail, merely the top brass of the company. personally i think the strike action was justified, i just feel that it should never have got that far in the first place. to add insult to injury i get home today to find a package waiting for me that i ordered last wednesday night. its only come from HONG KONG! seriously, how can Hong Kong to southampton be faster than london to southampton! lol
  7. ooo that samurai is right over a kidney......... you will enjoy that bit mate, single most painfull place on a man to be tattoo'd nothing feels like that i can promise you, because i made the mistake of giggling when a mate had his back piece done i have had the luxury of a "dry" tattoo there (no ink) my ***... i wouldnt let it stop me getting a tattoo on my back but all the same.. ouchy!
  8. now as a seller myself i can see there problem, they cant just send another one out, you just cant run a business that way, the only way around it for them is to charge you for a second one then when the original arrives with you, you send it back and they give you a full refend from a consumer point of view your stuffed in these situations, unless the delivery time breaches any T & Cs that are stated at tiem of ordering there isnt much that can be done to be honest (our T & Cs on our site are 28 days delivery time, it normally is next day with UPS so we really do cover our tails) royal mail are rubbish, have been for ages, parcel farce used to loose at least 10 packages a week from us, (we send around 500 packages out a week) its all one in the same and so poorly run its unreal. i have a friend who works in the sorting office in eastleigh (apparantly one of the largest in the UK) and the royal mail idea of staffing is the most they can afford (e.g if they have a 30k budget for staff in a certain area in the sorting office they prefer to employ 3 polish, turks, or whatever who dont speak english rather than 2 competant people who can speak & read fluent english) i dont mean this in a racist mannor, not at all im just refering to what a friend of mine has told me. his job is keeping a team of 10 people working efficiently in there, of those 10 they are all polish, only 1 of them speaks english so he has to double up as a translator... its madness isnt it?? what we need to do (and im not kidding here) is boycott these numptys once and for all, DHL, UPS and several other indepandant firms can deliver post aswell as packages, it does cost more, but really, its worth it. the postage on my LEDs was £1.84 for a 3 day service. UPS would have charged me £5 but that would have been for a GARUNTEED next day service. not like royal mails special delivery which is NOT garunteed. we sent all our invoices out this month by UPS because of the postal strike, every single one arrived, every single one had a signature for us to track against if we need to. yes it cost us more ebcause normally we have a franking machine through royal mail, but if you do the math its not that much cheaper than normall. royal mail cost..... 100 x 26p stamps = £26 (for 100 invoices) UPS Cost.... 100 x £0.45 = £45 (for 100 invoices) so another £14 per 100 invoices and none go missing, on a normall month of our 1000s of customers i must get at least 100 calls saying invoices have never arrived, i cant argue the toss, i just have to wait even longer for my money while i issue another invoice and send it again (normally recorded which costs me about £1!) personally if i was given the choice when ordering goods for delivery, pay £15 and have parcel farce or royal mail deliver it or pay £30 and have it on a garunteed next day courier such as city link or UPS i would more often than not pay the difference. im narked because once again they have been in today and once again delivered about 2 letters and thats it! weird thing is its post dated the 23rd so where the hell is all the stuff im outstanding from last bloody week!
  9. hehe, im sick of that thing! its just annoying, spend a fiver on something un-important that you dont mid waiting for and it comes special delivery in 3 days... wac over 100 notes on something that is importnat and you do need in a hurry and has less than a 10th of the distance to travel and it takes over a week!
  10. Im going to rant about the postal strike... now firstly i understand why it happened, im not annoyed that those people decided to strike, but the powers that be really should have sorted the situation before the strike came into play. the problems it has caused for me are just stupid, from a business point of view i have more customers than i can count telling me that there account payments are "in the post" not to mention delays on lots of special stock orders that i have placed. from a personal point in 7 days they have been unable to get a package what is essentially just a few junctions down the M3, its the randomness that annoys me, i ordered some LEDs from a place in middlesborough, even with the strike they arrived friday of last week a total of 3 days for the lenght of england..... london to winchester (about 70 miles) 1 week gone and still nothing! things like this really get my goat, in my opinioun 100% avoidable, its tradgic that these people need the strike action to get the powers that be to listen to them, it really is, for average people its not even as if they have a choice as to use another provider. somewhere there was a person who before all this started, sat back in there nice office, on there nice fat paycheck who wasnt interested in preventing this strike IMHO, only interested in protecting there own bonus i bet... rant over :(
  11. thats not a bad idea.... i always take my time over tattoos, both my main pieces mean something to me, they symobolise something. :D
  12. get one in PSI rather than BAR, (well thats my opinion anyway)
  13. long story that mate, one for another thread (i dont want to hi-jack lol) but i have had it since i was 18 and to be honest as much as i hated it at first, i have grown to love it, there are worse nicknames i suppose :D
  14. i did think of the little monkey idea, (i call him chimpster lol) but thinking long term, my lad wont always be a little nipper, i want something that will age with him (there is the challenge) i want something that basicly shows how i feel about him, that i will always have is back in life as he grows up.... (im thinking a back piece or something) its gotta invole chimps though ;)
  15. crucial thing with tattoos is that YOU like them, not what other people think IMHO :D good thread, im going to go back soon and have a tribute to my son done, just need to pick something apropriate for him
  16. i have 3 tattoos, love them all to bits aswell, i waited until i was 25 before having them done (although wanting them since i was 18) I searched through a lot of artists too, in the end i went with a guy called chris at a studio called millenium in southampton, firstly because his tallent for shading suited the designs i wanted, secondly because of the advice he gave me... "when all the pain has gone and you have forgoten how much it cost... it will still be there." its great advice, anyway any excuse to show them off.. here is some pics, they look MUCH better in the flesh i promise, the detail is awesome :D the above was my first.... 3 sessions of 2 hours, i have never been so scared in all my life, before that needle hit i had all the doubt in the world that i would get the tattoo finished lol this was my second, the counter part to my first, again 3 sessions of 2 hours, both of these were custom pieces, i found the artwork so they should be one of a kinds, session work is a must IMHO for a tattoo, nothing would upset me more than to see another person with the same tattoo... yes, it does say chimp, im proud of my nickname! lol good luck with the cover up mate, your on the right path, i ahve seen some awesome cover ups myself, just ask a few artists to show you there portfolios :D
  17. you would disable the VVTi when seeking big power from NA tuning, with forced induction i would personally leave the cams as is, there isnt much to be gained to be honest mate, just making life hard for yourself IMHO. cheaper and easier ways to hunt down more power :D
  18. i cant find the site i was on now, it was japanese so i didnt bookmark it, there are a few options though, the thing is your talking mega money in relative terms. its not the bhp thats going to be a problem, more the torque if you ask me. im still undecided on the route for mine, im debating between NA power or supercharging it. but the gearbox is something i know i need to find a way around myself. you can make anything fit anything if you have the money, its finding something thats cost effective.... ill hazzard a guess, i would want to see what a gear box from a 3S-GTE looks like, thats a bit more power and torque and there is a good chance the mount could be similar (cheap to adapt maybe?)
  19. postcode next to southampton airport is SO18 2HQ. mate, from what i can see i think you are going to be much better off flying over here and driving back, before getting the tezza i looked at what i consider to have been a mint IS200, the guy was asking £5500 and it really was in cracking condition, i didnt make him an offer when i viewed and 3 days later he emailed me saying he would take £5000 as he was getting desperate to sell, i then told him that i found my tezza and was picking it up that weekend and he dropped his price to £4600!! (really was in good condition for that money!) stick with the search mate, if i can be any help (as im right next to southampton airport, e.g if you want picking up and running around viewing motors then give me a shout ok)
  20. had this problem on my 306 XSi and can echo Giblets answer, its ubelievable that water can end up smelling that bad.. but it can
  21. nice tidy work that! im doing mine on my day off on monday weather permiting, going to get some hammerite today... (was debating doing blue myself so its really great to see how that looks) personally think the blue suits your car down to the ground. :D
  22. you should get a much smoother power curve from the dyno, the power delivery of a turbo is far more aggresive, the debate about what is better can rage for ever, so i wont even start that debate but for me there is something just awesome abut the howl of a supercharger spinning its nuts off at 14,000 rpm :D *** i miss my roadster lol
