  1. This happens on my IS, only on really steep hills (I live in a market town so there a few of them!) If I bring the car to a complete stop then release the brake it will still roll backwards, but after a second or so the car will hold itself, am I just being dense with the hill control system or should I get it checked out? (2004 IS200, bought from dealer - 34k on the clock)
  2. That's pretty much what I thought, cheers for comments :) I think I may have to take the IS in regarding the boot, I hate having to slam it as I think I'm doing some sort of damage
  3. Done a search and couldn't find anyone with similiar probs on an IS200 SE: 1) When I set the lights to auto in the morning when it's dark, the lights come on, however as the day gets lighter the lights don't turn off. If, however I turn the stick to 'off' then back to auto, the lights don't come on (as they shouldnt as it's light!) So my question is, are my auto lights working as they should, do the sensors only allow auto to turn the lights off if the car has in effect been 'reset' by turning the ignition off (or as I did, turning the stick off) can't think of a more elegant way to say the above, hope it makes sense to someone! secondly, does anyone else find the boot a bit stiff? (I find that I have to give it a little bit more force than I have to previous cars to get the boot to shut - even after some liberal use of wd40) Any help, much apreciated
  4. I thought if you've won it you've won it. I.E. you're not bidding for the chance to view it.... If you find any problems on it after you've won the auction I'm not entirely sure on your rights? Have you not viewed it at all before you placed your bid?
  5. These aren't great as it was dark, but here we go, more to follow: I'll take some in the day (and of my kenwood dx) when I get a chance, so....anyone with any suggestions for kits? I don't want anything OTT, some nice sides, tastefull bumper and a teeny spoiler, how much do you reckon I'm in for? (I'm clean broke for awhile after that kenwood....!) I'm also hoping to fit the reverse cam kit for the kenwood, and possilbe a ceiling-mouted screen for when the lil lad gets a bit older (he's only 2 so not much point at the mo IMO) and if I'm feeling especially flush, the tv tuner ad-on (but at 400, it's a bit OTT!)
  6. I'm just about ready to put the steering wheel down :) I'll try and post pics tomorrow, I'm eager to hear everyone's suggestions for bodykits...
  7. Just got my Kenwood DNX7200 fitted, it's awesome. Although....the fitters have neglected to include the remote (it's labeled on the box as included) so I'll have a word with them tomorrow (without it theres no way to add an adress book to its db)
  8. More likely a dummy company...left hand not knowing what the right's doing, suffice to say but both traders on your 'don't touch with a barge pole' list as if they're pulling a tax dodge by trading on two different names you have to question what else they're doing....
  9. Well, you guys will have to wait for me to pick up a camera and put down the steering wheel; a little under 100 miles today of doing nothing in particular...but having the time of my life! I can honestly say I've never had such fun in a car, pleased as punch :)
  10. In the past month I've bought a '91 banger of a BMW 3 series, and currently have a mercedes 190 E (E reg!) and I decided that enough was enough and I took the plunge to buy a car that looked awesome, drove awesome and the head gasket wasn't going to crack after 1000 miles (bmw 3 series!) Bought from a dealership and had the best customer service from those guys, and I hear that the afterservice is hard to beat also. Theres a few things I'd like to do to my new pride and joy; I'm getting a kenwood full colour touchscreen satnav/dvd player/handsfree kit/ipod video controller combi fitted next week saw some great pictures someone posted of an IS200 with tinted windows which looks lovely, think I might do the same I'd love to fit the front/rear/trims from the sport model (possibly from a breakers?) supercharger if I'm feeling adventurous! Anyway just thought I'd say hello, and pics will follow.
