  1. :D :D :D I was looking to get a set of Mintex Discs and pads for the rear... Any squealing noises from them?
  2. Have you still got the item number on ebay?
  3. Hi fellas, I have a January 2001 IS 200SE but i do feel you the post March 2001 owners. Nothing short of day light robbery... Labour's time in the hot seat should be coming to an end soon. My cousin has a Toyota Soarer 2.5 twin turbo 92 model.. Does anyone know how much that is going to cost to tax thanks to Mr Darling's great car robbery? Homeboy is ****ting bricks at the moment :D
  4. There should be a number of good low mile-aged examples out there. Mine had 54K on the clock when i got it in January and its a 2001 model.
  5. Yeah its a bit strange. As long as i connect the iPod and turn on the stereo before the lights are switched on then it works. If the lights go on first then the stereo will not find the iPod even though it continues to charge it. Its not a deal breaker, it saves me from having trailing cables all over the dash when i use the tape adapter.
  6. Hey fellas, Thanks for the various replies, with some help from a friend we sorted out the install of the Grom interface and it worked pretty much straight away... Is there a known issue for the device not to work when the headlight is in auto mode? I thought i was sold a dud when it refused to work after starting the car up later this evening with the lights on auto. I was starting to angry only for me to turn the lights the other way and it started working again. I'll pop out in a bit just to confirm what exactly it does. My iPod now lives in the cup holder... Perfect
  7. I'm no expert but i managed to get mine done in 1hr-i can probably help out if you stereo looks like this http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_...ages/lexrx1.JPG That pic is for a RX, my car is an IS i'm afraid... thanks
  8. Hi Hando, Thanks for the reply, i can definitely see where you are coming from and i'll have a look around the dash tomorrow. P.S I'm still open to offers
  9. Hi Guys, After going through some of the thread here, i bought the Grom interface for my IS200. I will freely admit that i am not your hands on kind of guy when it comes to the car so i wont even try so that i dont damage something else in the process ! I was wondering if anyone here who lives in London knows how to install it? I'll come to you and pay for the service :winky: :winky: ... Please let me know...
  10. Welldone man... Tastefully upgraded :winky:
  11. I had the same problem recently and it was down to a sticky caliper on the passengers side...
  12. Ebay, very easy to fit, take airbox off, you will see 6 coilpacks with 10mm nut holding them in place. undo, unclip the wire's, lift coilpack up, then you can get at the plugs. HI Guys, Just a quick one, how does the Denso IK20 compare performance wise to the plugs that would be fitted by the dealer at normal service? Thanks
  13. Hi All, Does anyone know the size of the bolts which holds the front seats of the IS down? I am missing one and i need to find out what size it is so that i could go out and buy it. Many thanks for the help..
  14. Maybe i got the name wrong but some sort of pipe was also quoted in the price. Nah its not a lexus agent, its my independent garage that i've been using for some years now. They managed to clean out the calipers and got it working again but the pads, discs and pipe was changed at £300. All the parts were ordered from Lexus.
  15. I have just been hit with a £600+ bill. Seems the Callipers has completely rusted and no longer moves hence the frequent seizure of the wheel. So i've been told i need a new caliper, caliper pump?, front brake pads and disc! Does the quote seem reasonable?
  16. I've got the same exact problem, I bought my IS200 a couple of weeks ago and i drove it down from Leeds to London without any problems. I was on my way to Reading last saturday when the steering started vibrating very badly when i was doing around 45 to 50 mph. At first i thought one of my wheels was loose but after stopping on the hard shoulder at the very start of the M4 i realised all wheels were very well secured. I continued my journey and the vibration went away. On my way back to London on the same evening, I experienced the same thing again doing the same sort of speeds. I took the car to Kwick Fit where i had the wheels balanced and tracked. The problem was still there so i took it to a garage yesterday where it was discovered that the front passengers wheel is not completely free. It seems pinned down but the rear wheels push the car along. If you put the car in neutral and release the handbrake, the car is extremely difficult to push. It will be going into the garage tomorrow for a thorough going over and hopefully whatever holding the wheel down will be replaced.
  17. Hey all, Just a quick hello to everyone, just picked up a 2001 IS200 SE Auto. I have been in love with the IS ever since it was released. I was only 17 at the time so i could only admire them. Now i am a proud owner of one... I havent been disappointed so far :winky: :winky: :winky:
