  1. I shall do that once I get my car then. I've been looking at Drivethedeal and I think I may buy through them as the discount is huge. That is if my local dealer can't match it, of course. Many thanks
  2. Many thanks for the help. I thought I would save the cost of a call and see if anyone knew first :) HRD
  3. I'm looking at the gold membership page and it mentions that by becoming a gold member I could get 15% discount on servicing at selected dealers around the UK. I can't find a list of the dealers to which this applies. Could someone let me know if one exists, or if not, whether the Brighton Lexus dealer is included in this programme, please? Thanks in advance HRD

  5. Quote for IS250SEL £302. My worst quote was for my Esprit at £1700. Nothing comes close to the ones some of you have received.
  6. I had the same response from Mercedes when I went in on Saturday. They saw my jeans and trainers and wrinkled their nose. Oh well, I took my 30k+ to Lexus instead. Oh well, Lexus are better made anyway. :) LMAO, its a real shame though, because having owned 3 from new ranging from CLK to the new SLK, I love them !!!! They let you walk into the showroom in jeans and trainers when its time to get the thing serviced But again you cant thank the Lexus guys enough, we were also given a bottle of champagne in a lexus wooden box (signifying a coffin? ) and have leant us a car for this coming weekend, because we got the delivery date wrong. Now you cant go wrong with that now can you ? You see it's attention to detail and service like that that made me choose Lexus in the first place. I hear they are on target to get the number one spot in the 2008 JD Power survey too.
  7. I saw this page about the body styling kit. http://www.onlinelexus.co.uk/New/IS/Promot...ust-500--s.aspx Ok, I realise that the promotion is over now but i'm trying to find a picture of a car that has it and I can't find one. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Many thanks HRD [edit] Crap, sorry for the bad thread title.
  8. That link gives out loads of information. The only problem is that I don't have the car yet :( Great link though, thanks. HRD
  9. That's a cracking idea. It should save me ages trying to figure the thing out. many thanks
  10. I'm quite looking forwards to going to the dealer on Saturday and looking at all the colours available in the cold light of day. I'm an old Volvo and Audi man, so this will be a good change I think.

  12. Just looking at the brochure paint samples, i'm either going with the Velvet Black, the Argento Ice silver or the Brechin Slate grey. I've got a test drive sorted out for next Saturday at the Lexus dealer nearest to me so i'll have a look at the colours in the flesh then. It's good to know about the paint swirls, i'll see if I can find a used dark coloured one and look at the paint. I know it isn't the same but I think i'll trawl the internet in the meantime to find one of each of the three colours so I can put them side-by-side to see which one I like the most. I need to remember to take a printout of this thread with me so I don't forget the advice written in here. :D Cheers HRD
  13. Many thanks for the help. SE-L it is then I reckon. I think I would prefer the leather to the man-made material. And yes, I doubt if I will ever do a trackday in it as I have another car for that. With regards to the wheels, I am not overly enamoured with any of the styles on offer so I was considering replacing them in the future anyway. Thanks all, you have helped me make my choice. Now to decide on a damn colour... :) hrd
  14. HI all Forgive me first of all, I don't actually own a Lexus but I thought I would post on here after having a bit of a read through your forums. I'm in the market to buy a new car and I've been looking at either the Volvo C70, BMW 3-Series, Merc C Class or the Lexus IS250. I've settled on the Lexus after doing a LOT of research. Checking the JD Power surveys for the last few years, reading lots of reviews, looking at the Euro Ncap results, and so on. I've been to the dealer and obtained the brochure and price list for the car, and I must say the car looks stunning and comes equipped with more toys than you can shake a stick at. Now, here we come to the point of my posting. Firstly, I notice that the Sport version is £1,000 less than the SE-L version although it seemingly comes with all the same kit as the SE-L plus a bit more. What's the deal there? Also, with regards to the the Cellensia upholstery, is it actually leather as I can't find much on it in the brochure? I'm either going with the Sport or SE-L automatic with the Multimedia Centre, but I can't decide on what colour paintwork to go for yet. I'm not going to be able to take one out for a test drive until next weekend but if it compares to the older IS200 I drove a while back then I expect a good ride. Are there any tips or tricks I should look out for, or questions that you Lexus owners would recommend that I ask the dealer please? Once again, apologies if I'm speaking out of turn here as i'm not actually an owner yet. Many thanks HRD
