I got a solar charger from amazon £29.99 made by the AA which simply plugs into the OBDM socket near where the bonnet pull is under dash , have used this when away on holiday and car left for a while seems good.

Just had a look on parts shark and they are breaking a few rx400h's , if you go onto Google and put in breaking lexus rx400h there is a few places breaking some so you may find a secondhand one from one of these places as you may have to sit down if you get a price from lexus for one!!

Hi mate, yes they are fast !!! That part fits into the centre consol/glove box/storage compartment thingy, not really sure what you use it for but if you open up the centre storage compartment it fits in towards the front of the car. well the one in mine does.
There is also a parcel shelf which can be lifted out complete once retracted. Are you sure you have not got one as when the boot lifts up it retracts and coils up behind the rear seats and you then pull it out and clip it in when you shut the boot. It can be lock out all the time so will not retract when boot opens if you wish. Also the other side of the shelf clips to the headrest supports just to fill that area in. Fitted as standard i believe.
Hope this helps

John, father in law just got another key for his LS400 as he only had one, he got it through Roys Motor Company in norwich and they programmed it as well. Don't think the price was too bad, I have used them for over twenty years now for servicing etc, always excellent job done at great price. Sprowston road.

Kirkley Run tyres , based at kirkley run service station.Lowestoft.
01502 565529 postcode NR33 ONH. They were £104.00 each fitted but that was about two years ago as i only do about 4k a year. Camskill online currently have them for £111.50 each but then you will have to get them fitted. clickontyres.co.uk also seem to have them for £111.00 each. Speak to kirkley run and ask what they can do and say they are on line for this price if they are more expensive they may do something to match and you get them fitted.

Well spoke to lexus ipswich the other week and they said to wait for the letter from vosa, having checked the link at the start of this post my car is not affected which is strange as is a 2006 and falls between the dates listed.
Wait and see if I receive anything .

I had mine replaced by lexus at 6 years old, they were replaced with refurbed wheels which lasted just over a year before they started to show signs of bubbling, so I have just had them done properly, powder coated in a slightly darker porsche grey metallic which look the dogs b......s against the dark blue mine is.

I'm looking forward to it! Last time mine was recalled I got loaned a new RX450 and when I picked mine up it had been cleaned, filled with fuel and a bottle of champagne waiting for the inconvenience from lexus . All done by lexus ipswich great service.
Spoke to lexus ipswich this morning and was told they are still waiting for parts to come in and to wait for letter from vosa then phone them and arrange date for repair.

Well that looks good, I've just been down to Heathrow from mine a round trip of 350 miles and averaged 36 mpg which I was well pleased with as I did give her a bit of wellie at times. Mine has done about the same miles at 42,000 .

Well roof rails removed today, bit tricky getting the plastic covers off but off they did. Have taken them to the powdercoaters and will be ready to pick up next week £40.00 . Will make them look better and be better protected. Thought about leaving them off but are handy sometimes when needed so will be refitting. Thanks for everyone's help on how to remove.
-
Hi mate, there's not much to look for really, alloys are a problem so good that they are doing them, second, I would check the roof rails underneath the curve bit where it fits to roof as these corrode too, now getting mine powdercoated so check them and if corroded ask for them to be done. I got a rubber rear boot liner and rear bumper protector thrown in when I bought mine as well. Oh on the alloys check that they have done the spare as well as that sits underneath the rear and will probably be the worst one.

That's great, thanks very much job for weekend.

Has any body removed or got a guide on how to remove the roof rails please. Mine are now showing signs of corrosion underneath where they fit to roof so was looking at removal and powder coating but was unsure how much has to be stripped down to expose fixings etc, any advise appreciated.

I suppose I could give them a call and hopefully they may be able to point me in the right direction. I will not book it in there however as would probably cost a fortune going on what I have been quoted in the past for services etc.
Cheers.

Thanks have just tried that and still same problem, have replaced the Battery in the remote , also both headsets and still sound very faint, have also put a disc cleaner through the player but still same, all LED's are lit and by covering one side up it just reduces sound even more. Have looked through hand book asociated with I.C.E but can't find all the set up pages they list in there on the screens. Don't know what else to try now, they always worked well and when my son connects his play station to the yellow, white, red connectors it always worked.
-
I can't seem to see the red LEDs are lit, just wondered if there was a fuse for the I.R transmitter? Everything else works ok including the remote control but just sound very faint.
-
Excellent guide many thanks for posting, will have a look and see if I can fix it using info sent.Have a look at the attached Toyota/Lexus troubleshooting guide may point you in the right direction, depending on what year the RX is of course ICE trouble shootguide ATM 000 004-0-eng.pdf
Thanks again

I have a sound problem with my tv screens in the headrests, I cannot seem to get the sound to work and have tried everything this morning but still no joy, they always worked fine but haven't been used for a while until we went down to airport last week and kids complained they didn't have any sound. Batteries in headphones are good and remote works, you can faintly here the sound from a DVD but that's it, with volume up on headphones and max on TV screens, any ideas please ?
-
Are thanks for that. Remember a few years ago when lexus had problems with the multi disc CD players jamming in their is200, they did fit me a new one even when it was out of warranty but things have changed somewhat now.^ Multi Media unit. Nav, DVD changer etc.
And I don't think its covered on mine no.
-
Hi there sorry to sound a bit thick but what do you mean by the MM unit? Looking at changing my RX for a ISF and not sure what you meant. Thanks.

Just done my cars again this year with waxoyl and would recommend doing it. £21.00 5 ltrs from wilco and used a electric sprayer from eBay like this 130925012152 (item number ) just leave tin in sun or warm slightly and spray away. No need to thin. Tip remainder back into tin and spray a little white spirit through it and ready for next time.

Been running Hankooks on mine for last two years and can honestly say been well impressed with them and at £104.00 each fitted excellent value as well. No issues what so ever quiet and plenty of grip. I know a budget tyre but impressed that I would certainly buy again.

OBDII port ,that's it thought I got that wrong. Looking at the post above I think he might mean the main hybrid batteries and not the aux starting Battery so the solar charger plugged in there may not be any good for him.
