    If you turn the ignition off, then doesn't that stop the power steering working, and hence is rather dangerous whilst moving ? i often wonder what happens if the ignition si turned off on new cars that have fly-by wire throttles and brakes :S Brake servo doesn't work when engine is off and not running, but if you put it in gear it'll still work dispite engine not running.

    I fixed the radio illumination in my 96 myself. If you can solder, just remove the radio/ climate control panel. Then split the radio box open and look for the bulb power regulators, which are transistors mounted on metal heat sinks. You will find that the soldering to these will be badly "dry jointed". Clean them up and resolder them to restore your bulb power. Paul how do i go about getting the radio/climate control panel out fo the dash? many thanks

    oh and my starter motor sometimes clicks instead of turning any ideas on that? thanks Benfur, I'll make a list and then PM you :) Edit:- knackered starter motor and a new starter motor then

    Just got the car and the CD changer loads and turns but comes up with error 21 instead of playing music. The radio doesn't have any night time illumination which is a pain any idea what could cause this? Theres a low brake warning light on the dash dispite the car having new brakes all round. gotta go to work so thanks for any help given :)

    how much does a cambelt cost? do you need any tensioners or other parts to change at the same time, my local garage has just quoted me £100 to change it + parts. thanks

    fan of top gear then Actually it's there police car sketch that reminded me that the LS is cheap as it is got mine for £800 which is a bargain when you consider i paid £1000 for a mondeo a few years ago
