  1. Cheers for that chaps... I know Tydemans do the repairs and stuff, and will give them a shout. Seems a bit of overkill for a chip though!
  2. Noticed this chip on the wing when polishing recently, which I'm not too happy with! It's goine straight down to the metal, and is around 7.5mm across. Can anyone recommend, especially in the suffolk area, a good stone chip repairer... searchs on the web have come up with a whole heap of stuff, and the coffee in me blood makes my hands shake, so I wouldn'tr want to do it meself. Help!
  3. Traded up from avensis 2.0 gls. There is no going back. Buy it.... you know it makes sense!
  4. wait for the year 2020 and you'll be able to have: IS20OLX and the year 2030: IS30OLX
  5. I really feel for you mate. My experience with the police is, well, tainted to say the least. Someone nicked my bike from inside an office building. Despite 8 security cameras capturing the bloke doing it, and people from within the building IDing the guy, the police had 'insufficent evidence' I can also relate with the bad luck... Two weeks ago, after being thrown badly from my horse (nearly broke my back) some t*** drives into the back of me the following morning. Not happy. Why don't you take it through the small claims court? Andd sue the CPS as well whilst you are at it!
  6. I don't mind the engine noise (that's such a lovely purr), and the tyre noise (as I know I have a lot of rubber on the road), but it is noticable more than the avensis. I'll have a go at cleaning the surrounds on the sun roof and see what happens. It's a lot less noticable with the visor shut, but I feel closed in! Cheers for the advice chaps. Paul
  7. Love my lexus. However, abouve 75mph there is excessive wind noise (quieter than average cars) coming from the sun roof, which makes a bigger racket than my avensis ever did. Should this be looked at, or is this common?
  8. Never tried Optimax when I had the avensis, but spend the extra chucking it in the Is200 now. On a good run, I can get Over 550 miles out of a tank running on optimax. that's close to the 35mpg that lexus quote. Well worth the extra dosh
  9. You want to try living in Suffolk: It's impossible to get a car to look half decent after a wash, even despite a quick Blat down the A14 to 'Blow Dry' it. You HAVE to use a leather! The water is so disgusting down here, even the cat doesn't drink tap water!
  10. Saw an altezza in london today. Apart from engine, what are the major differences?
  11. Just my two penneth: I could have bought an ex fleet Is200 from where I work, for £3K less than a dealership. same age, just higher milage and no lexus service history. However, I decided to go for a lexus dealership: Just after receiving the motor (A w 2000 reg), there was vibration at braking from meduim speed: Warped brake discs. Had them replaced along with new pads under warrenty. Now, would a cheaper private sale have given you that? Furthermore, someone just rear ended me last week (was fun seeing my lexus is various bits of disarray at the repair centre today). Got given the same car as a curteousy car whilst mine is off the road - I don't think your insurance company (unless it's that funky one off the telly) would have done that - It would of ended up being a corsa! Anyway - Your choice, but there is a little more protection if you plump for a dealer (and I got free matts as well!).
