WELL WHAT CAN I SAY? i rung the guy up with the t reg 43k gs sport to arrange another viewing with the intention of pushing up my offer and he said it sold for 9500 i feel a complete idiot. it definately sold i even got the mrs to call him and he told her the same thing. i am gutted. I SHALL NOT REPEAT THIS MISTAKE i will close the deal there and then next time

i suppose ur right on the mileage and petrol side of things. i had another thought the timing belt change on gs 300 is 63k as far as im aware, even though the t reg has only done 43k miles is it not due and expensive belt change as its already 7 years old?

HI AGAIN MONSTER i didnt test drive the tt the guy took me for a spin in it and he floored it a few times it did seem fast but not as fast as i expected ( maybe turbos were blown ) i did not rate the tt highly and will not buy one. hi maneesh i checked out parkers price guide and it came back as independant dealer 9140 private good 8665. i know these gs sports are rare beautiful cars, i am a big fan and beleave that the black mk2 sport is the best gs produced so far, but beleave me when i tell you there is not much interest in them the gentleman selling the t reg 43k sport told me its been on sale many months and im the 2nd viewer he said no one else has called. when i was selling my black gs sport 42.5k in early 2004 i went by parkers guide placed tha car for sale at 17k then reduced it to 16 then to 15 in the end i had to let it go for peanuts to a dealer i never got any calls. if u look at 7 series bmw or s or e class mercedes of the same year and similar mialeage ive seen them on sale at between 5 to 6.5k i think the gs is overpriced at 9.5k or if it wasnt it would have sold long ago

HI guys thanks for all the advice i dont think im going for a gs tt i just want a uk car i been to see both gs. the guy with the t reg uk gs300 sport wants 9.5k i offered 8k he refused. is 9.5k too much to pay for a t reg sport 43k on clock flsh good condition 2 owners my mate told me the true price should be 7000 pounds what do u guys think? thanks

hi monster thanks for quick responce if u go to the exchange and mart website you will see the vertex for sale it is black priced at approx 9.5k. im a bit weary at this moment because ad says it has don 15k miles but when i spoke to the chap selling it he said it has over 40k on clock then 1 minit he says sat nav works then he says hes not sure and could not even confirm whether all the buttons on interior are written in english or japanese im only going to view coz he lives few miles from me. if u go and check out the exchange and mart website let me know what you think thanks.

HI its been a long time since i used this forum i sold my mk2 gs sport in march 2004 and now i was ready to buy a ls430 but have since seen 2 lexus gs sports im hoping some one can give me advice. which of these should i buy? 1.. w reg black vertex twin turbo with under 50k on clock = 9000 pounds 2.. t reg black gs sport uk car under 50k flsh 1 owner= 10000 pounds. 3.. what is 0.60 on vertex? 4.. are parts easy to get for gs vertex twin turbo in uk? i thank you in advance for your help im going see both cars today.

i know the new gs 300 is on its way but has it been anounced whether there will be a 300/430 gs sport and if yes were can i find some pics?thanx

thanx again guys about 6 weeks ago i saw a 430 silver with tv video etc plus premium pack it was a yreg with 105k miles at 20 grande and like an idiot i thought the miles were to high and some other lucky sod purchased it.apparently it belonged to the director of the bbc anyway im off to buy the autotrader to see the 2 430s cheers

thanx james,when you say lexus websites do you mean lexus main dealer websites?ive been looking for 4 months and the few ive come across are 30k for a y reg with premium pack a bit over priced i think.

if any one wants to sell their 430 with premium pack for 20 grande give or take a few g here and there ive got cash waitin im a private buyer thanx.

its an original mk2 gs sport rim i know they retail at approx 400 pounds but mine has a couple of small chip marks but no kerbing i think 150 notes is reasonable?????wot u guys think???i paid 100 pounds for the lucas pads plus i have the original cd for the sport i would let all 3 go for 200

thanx guys i still find it disturbing that the aa dd not see the respray neither did the dealer i hope he does not come hunting me down when he finds out.all i have left now is a complete set of lucas brake pads and an 18 inch sport rim which is in very good nick if anyone wants them i willaccept anything reasonable to clear em out the garage.

i just sold my black mk2 gs sport x reg with 42k flsh history for 13.5k to a dealer can u guys tell me if it was a stupd move.the best offer i had private was 14k but he would not buy without log book as i sent it off for the pivate plate to be retained by dvla?????as u guys are aware tht from my old posts my car had a fullrespray by alan day after a hit n run but i was shocked to see that the aa and the garage that bought my car did not notice that the car hada full respray the aa charged 250 pounds andthey did not spot it.i think anyone paying for an inspection should be aware that u may be wasting ur money could please have ur views on both these points please thanking u in advance.

first thing were was the car advertised?and was it described any different then it actually was?what i would do in ur situation is if u feel u have a strong enough case i would proceed to the small claims court im not sure if the claim has to be a max of 5 or 25,000 pounds but in either case it will only cost u 120 pounds u dont need a solicitor all u need is some sort of proof that the car was wrongly described.i tell u 1 thing i heard a lot of companys would offer u some form of compensation even if they are not at fault because it will be costly for them and plus they may have their past dug out and if they are a dodgy lot they wont want that would they.

i get about 80 miles for 20 pounds petrol at 76.9 per litre.last week i purchased an m reg golf tdi for 1700 pounds it had fsh and 1 owner with 125,000 on the clock in mint condition i filled the tank up for 35 pounds and have done 230 miles around town and the tank is yet to hit the half tank marker.im gonna use the lex for weekends and special occasions it just drinks too damn much

i have a mk2 gs 300 sport i purchased lucas brake pads i was advised they are very good have any of u heard of lucas brake pads they cost me 65 pounds all round?

as u guys know i had a lot of problems with the repairs to my car by alan day recommended by tesco insurance which has finally been resolved i got a complete respray plus 400 pounds compensation from alan day and 2day i recieved a final settlement from tesco insurance of 800 pounds on top of the 200 pounds compensation tesco already paid me plus i have been reimbursed 400 pounds i paid for 2 rac reports total=1800 pounds hooray.

thanx guys.i went and purchased a bulb it cost me a tenner and i didnt need it.my other bulb had just slightly popped out of place but the shop would not give me my tenner back saying id opened the box huh
