  2. guys, Is there much iof a differnece between the sport version of is200 and non sport version? apart from the rear tints, and spoiler,... i understand the sport version has sports suspension too.. so im guessing the handling would be better than the standard? what about the gearbox? or accelaration? thanks, Izzy
  3. yep tommy - i know its an old thread but the answer would have been useful to know hence why i asked... :-) there is no rule against replying to an old thread on these forums is there :-P cheers guys Izzy
  4. any joy?? what was the outcome of this one mate?
  5. Saw a post a few days ago that said Lexus dealers are doing them for £299 so that gives you a ballpark mate it might have just been a specific garage mate - deff not a Lexus national dealer offer - just called my local one.. said they want £460
  6. I think it can be any of the rears (but maybe not the rear fogs, not sure if they're included) It's most likely a brake light though :) Hi Parthiban, thanks. i have checked the brake lights.. its none of them :-S strange.... do you think error lights may come up.. even if none of the bulbs are gone?
  7. No no no :) Your Cd player is not done for yet. Error 3 = fukd. Error 1 = reading error i believe. Dirty lens or something. When i get error 1 i just turn of the head unit count to five and turn it back on and i usually work again :) You can load and eject cds right? :) Hi Solhatt, well hmm im kind of suprised in a good way.. yes i get error 1, and yes i can load and eject discs... it basically loads and starts to read the disc and then after like 5 -10 seconds it will kick up thta error1 message.. so i think it does make sense that it is unable to read the disc due to lens dirty or whatever... any suggestions on what i should do? thanks Take out the head unit and clean the lens with alcohol :) hi mate, i just trekked all the way to Maplins in the cold and rain... to get a CD Lense cleaner.. cost £10 and did sweet F ALL!!! what a waste of money and time.... it asks you to put alcohol solution they provide on the cd brush cleaner (2 pieces stuck on cd) but when you slot the cd in.. there is that soft tissue type fabric right at the entrance , i guess to take off dust etc off the cd.. and prevent dust getting in.. but this just takes all the alcohol off the cd.. pointless!!! so no joy there... mate do u know if there is a instruction guide of how to takje the stereo out? is it simple or fairly complicated? anyone know? thanks Izzy
  8. Guys, i noticed a bulb out warning light on the dash... image of the car with rays off the rear...does anyone know if this is a specific light in the rear or would i have to manually check each light? thanks in advance Izzy
  9. guys, thinking of getting my caliphers painted.. what are your thoughts on colour...for a Dar metallic grey car... initially i thought red would go well.. but its fairly common... so not sure... what have guys had done and what do you think will go well? Izzy
  10. Hi Jomo, Do you think if the lens that was dirty... a CD cleaning kit will do the trick? as you prob guessed i have the same issue .. cheers Izzy

  14. thanks Janet, I will get the engine checked out.. but it has a FSH etc etc etc...and only got 65k on the motor... so i would have thought the engine etc wouod have been more smoother..etc.. maybe it is clutch related? i think if the pedal does not rise too high this was a reason for the clutch going..rather than the clutch going based on it rising high...? thoughts welcome!!!
  15. hi guys, i just wanted to say hi to you fellow Lexus owners... i purchased my first Lexus is200 sport yesterday... 65k on the clock bought off a 2nd owner who had it for the last 5 years and knew the previous owner.. so the history of the car is known :-) just a couple of questions: 1) during the 1st, 2nd gears when the revs reach around 2000/3000 range.. the car gets louder as if its being revved to like 5000 or being red lined.. i find this a little strange as i thought the engine would be quiet till the later revs ? is this normal? any thoughts? 2) i think the clutch is possibly on its way out :-( as i have notcied the biting point is very low.. so as soon as i lift offf the clutch .. i have go to give to press the throttle otherwise the gear change would be too late.. im guessing this is not normal and the clutch is on its way out? correct? any thoughts?? Apart from that .. i think the common fault with the stereo... i get the error as with most users.. error1 - now i prefer to keep this stereo as i like the 6 cd's at the front idea...so is this possible to get repaired? any thoughts? Appreciate ALL your help guys - thanks in advance Izzy
  16. thanks kam05 - appreciate it. generally would you say i i have anything to worru about with it being at 65k.. FSH? current owner being female and owning for last 5 years.. i guess thats alll good points right? only concern is its at 65k and not had a cambelt change yet... so i guess i should be haggling to get the price lower as if i purchase i wud need to get that done asap..
  17. thanks guys, is there any other differences in the sport and non sport model? as far as performance go's i think they are the same BHP... ?
  18. Hi Guys, i hope everyone is well. I am keen on buying a Lexus IS200 - i have seen one with 65k on the clock.. its the sport version , so have the rear windows tinted..spoiler... thats it as far as i know... what i know of the car so far is: gun metal grey is200 - sport 2002 2 owners (current owner had car for last 5 years) 65k on clock FSH now mny questions are 1) what kind of things would i need to check when i go see the car for a viewing? anything to watch out for? i know the cd payer messes up and is a common fault...? anything else? 2) i guess a timing belt is overdue.. current owner has not had this done yet? any worries here? 3) being a lady driver - must i be worried of the clutch being on its way out? (sorry lady drivers) 4) any common faults? 5) anything else i have not mentioned as i may not know enough about this car,..... any/ALL advice appreciated.. Look foward to your responses thanks guys, Izzy
