  1. Going from your reply just checked up with the car dealer.and it was serviced with lexus upto 42000 miles then a independent garage upto it’s last service which was done at lexus Exeter belts, water pump just over 500 miles ago.didnt consider the plug change will check on that as well that could be something I do myself perhaps as piece of mind
  2. Hi guys not a newbie to the Lexus scene but I’m going to be chopping in my 11 plate CT200 for a 57 plate rx400.the RX has got 89000 miles on it and has just had the timing belt and water pump change done at the lexus dealership.anything else I can check as the I’m a bit worried of buying the a slightly older car.my CT has never let me down or failed a MOT.sorry if this question has been asked a million times previously I have looked back through the forum.
  3. Wife comes home the other night and said the stereo has stopped working in the lexus.so I marched out to the car got in and to my amazement it came on all preset radio stations had been lost but it came on cd played ok.as I was about to shout in to the house BOSH !!! It went of screen blank and would not turn again.switched car of for a few minutes turned back on again same scenario,on again few minutes off and would not work again.we used the car last night and it seemed to say on for about 5 mins when we was driving then just shut of again.every time it switches back on all preset radio stations are gone.so to me it seems that it is a power issue has anybody else had this before in there ct200 our stereo is the bog standard one with no nav or multi disc changer.
  4. Managed to pick up new heat sheild yesterday.borrowed some ramps as I didn't feel safe getting under the car with it being on a trolley jack as you need to get near enough the middle of the car.removed the bracket that supports the heat sheild the nut Was seized.a bit of heat and of it came.straight forward job just a bit frustrating as the heat sheild looks like it's made from the tray you cook the Christmas turkey on
  5. Funny you should say that I contacted Lexus uk about the poor build quality.any way cut along story short they said they wouldn't help out with covering the cost of replacement and that I should of purchased a extended manfactures warranty 😂 pretty pointless really
  6. Mine looks near perfect mate it's literally corroded around the fixing bolts.well 2 out of the 3 fixing bolts
  7. Had my first Ct about 6 months now.took it to Lexus for a service and few recalls.picks up car to be told of a few issues.one being fuel tank heat shield is loose due to corrosion and is a MOT failure.also a few of the others are starting to corrode on the fixing points since then the heat sheild has given up and fallen on the exhaust and started rattling making the car sound like a old fiesta when driving it 😂😂😂😂I have fixed it up with some large penny washers and ordered a new one.not sure if anybody else has had this problem on there CT 200 my car is nearly 6 years old but I think it's a rubbish build quality for a Lexus
  8. hi all can anyone recommend any good devices that i can install into the standard stereo.as the aux input is a tad cack
  9. Billnick this was the email Michael sent to me.as it turned out It was test 2 Test 1. Please locate the Connector-A Orange wire and cut it. Join the Po-40 Orange wire to the cut side of the Orange wire going into the loom Join the Po-40 Brown wire to the cut side of the Orange wire going to the switch Try that connection Test 2 With the wiring set up as Test 1 check the Po-40 Blue and Po-40 White wires. You are probably connected: Po-40 Blue goes to Connector-C White and Po-40 White goes to Connector-C Light Green Try connecting Po-40 Blue instead to Connector-C Purple Test 3 Use a multimeter connected to the chassis and test each wire in Connector C for the correct Lock pulse. Hit the lock button on the key fob and look for a 12v flash that then returns to 0v. Note: Wait 30-40 seconds after each lock test before testing another wire. When you find a Lock pulse going to 12v then 0v, connect the Po-40 Blue wire to discovered Lock wire.
  10. After reading this thread a few weeks ago I decided to purchase the PO40 kit from micheal.and all the above about the installation are true easy to install.had a minor hitch with the mirrors folding on double lock but quick message to micheal all sorted and what a fab little optional extra May I say

  19. Hi Bobby not at all I had it done as a favour so can't comment on the cost.all though i did search around a few places before hand had a few prices for the bumper ranging from £80 to £150 but that was taking the bumper of myself and stripping all the various bits of it and taking it in bare and also it needed a bit of filler work and repair.
  20. I'm now in the 19" crew fitted mine Saturday.im thinking that 19" alloys are more suited to IS250 personally
