I know the used car prices are a bit inflated at the moment but about 10K more than what they were 18 months back.. mental.. Mind you, I had my BMW 5GT 535d dealer call me last month before Christmas for a buyback round about the same price I paid for it in 2019 and they are hardly desirable motors.

I too doubt very much that it's equipped with AVS.. but the blurb in the ad made me think otherwise.

Reading the advert again, suggests that car is equipped with AVS, but it's a 16 reg. My understanding is that AVS was available only on and after 17 reg cars, I might be wrong. Thoughts anyone

I will be in the market in Jan trying to replace the BMW 5GT. The GSF is on top of "My Next Car" list. I know there are about 60 odd on the roads and bloody rare and can't be picky. The criteria is any colour other than blue and preferably lighter colour interior(wouldn't mind the red interior) The two on the AT are ruled out as they are blue. The black one at HK performance looks nice although it doesn't show up in AT search. After 8 years and trundling through various makes I am urging to get to get back into Lexus particularly a LS460 Fsport. There are none on the usual sales channels, anyone here considering to sell theirs.

After 3 years of happy and glorious ownership of the Lexus the big expenses are coming soon on top of this Christmas and the wedding anniversary I would be grateful to hear a few comments and appreciate any suggestions for the below issues 1. Tyres- There are nearly worn out and would need replacing. They car currently has Toyo proxes T1Rs and after reading the reviews on websites i want to replace them with mid-range Vredestien Ultrac sessantas. The cheapest i could find for all four tyres is £504 fully fitted. Any thoughts about these tires or cheaper alternatives in the mid-range tyres(225 45 R17s on front and 245 45 R17s on rears)? 2. Continuing the topic of tyre, the current tyres still a bit above the legal limit(centre 3/4th of the thread has above 2mm), however the thread on the inner side of the fronts is totally worn out. Does this mean something else is also wrong on the wheels? And some other parts need replacing i.e tie rods, ball joints, not sure if they are related but remember reading somewhere. If this is uncommon I do not want this to happen on the new tyres and I am not sure how much I need to set aside to rectify this. 3. Headlight Ballast - The front left headlight does not on automatically when the stack is in auto mode and needs to be put to manual and then turn to auto. Based on the feedback from another topic, the ballast needs replacing. Apologies for my ignorance, is it one ballast for both the headlamps or two ballasts and they are independent. I found one on eBay for £80 but would need to find a fitter 4. Brakes pads and discs - During the last service, Lexus Guildford quoted that the brake pads and discs have only 40% life left and will need replacing by next service. Since then i did about 8000 miles and closing to the next service. Based on the "Fixed price Promise" by Lexus these would cost me £530. Can anyone recommend if there are any aftermarkets ones which are just as good or better than the OEM ones and slightly cheaper or stick to the original Lexus Ones? 5. 80K service - this is due in another 2000 miles, again Lexus Guildford website quotes £430 odd. After reading the manual it appears that there is more work to be done on a 80K service than the 60K service, however the 80K service is less expensive than the 60K at most dealers. it doesn’t make sense and considering that the car is nearly 7 years old, I am starting to think about getting it serviced at Lexus specialists rather than dealers. Does anyone know a good one in Surrey Area?

Thanks for your response, the car is a 55reg and after switching back from manual to auto, it stays on, No problem there. I suspect an expensive bill on the way. how did you get that one fixed when the lamp finally gave up? and what was the problem

Hi I am observing a peculiar behavior with the auto head lights (Standard HID Xenons with AFS on the SE-L spec), when its dusk and turning to become dark only the right side headlight goes on, i did not observe this in the past until last week when i saw the reflection of the light on the car ahead and checked this when parked. However, when its totally dark or if the headlight stack in on in manual mode, both the lights go on without any issues. I clearly doubt if is this a common behaviour but did anyone experience this before? i suspected it to be loose connections however when i move change the headlights from auto to manual mode there are no problems.

you guys are convincing me and I started looking at the LS460s in the market After owning the IS250 for three years, i was thinking about changing it to the GS450... but neither of them is as quiet as you guys describe... cd changing and clock ticking.. i never got an opportunity to drive a LS or never even been in one.. are the LS460s just as quiet.. particularly on the worst bit of motorway in UK ... M25 between junction 12 and Junction 8 ... my current IS has makes a lot of road noise on that stretch and took the new GS450h for a 24 hour test drive and that was just as bad ... any comments from the LS460 owners????

You are not alone .... I had the same problem once in the last week, but since then nothing. The dealer quotes "That is Normal, that is nothing to worry about", but they had no explanation why the car did that .
