  1. Right, well, I've bought one and am going to pick it up on Saturday! Its EXACTLY what I wanted and if the car matches the pic, I'm glad I missed out on all the others. Pics to follow when its home and had a J3NKO wash and polish ;-)
  2. indicating or not, it seems the other car has started a manouvre without checking for oncoming traffic, still well worth arguing He wasn't oncoming, he was behind the guy.If he was oncoming, its a totally different ball game. It is the duty of following drivers to observe the traffic in front. Think of it from the perspective of a motorbike driving down the middle of the road past stationery traffic in its travelling direction and a car turns right and the bike goes into the side. Who's fault is that? The bike. Mbay admits to overtaking so insurers I'm sure will see it in a similar light. He didn't indicate to turn right but he didn't indicate to park either so why assume one and not the other? The guy in front has no obligation to check mirrors for overtaking traffic on a town road (its not dual carriageway I'm guessing) even though I do because of motorbikes etc. I wouldn't expect to be overtaken on a 30mph street I'm not saying don't argue the point but he's asked for views and this is mine. Sorry Mbay :( not trying to paint you as a bad driver! If he'd of indicated then it all could've of been avoided. It is bad driving on his part but think you'll be footing the bill.
  3. Not trying to be clever but where was this witness when it all happened to testify the other person was not indicating? Even if that were the case and the other car wasn't indicating, theres nothing to say it wasn't your fault from an insurance perspective. If you don't give way on a roundabout and the the oncoming car isn't indicating, its still your fault kind of thing. As for road position, did you take post crash pics to prove he/she was to the left? If it were me, I'd be waving bye to the NCB. I really hope I'm wrong mate and am pleased no-one was hurt but its just my view.
  4. I reckon its to do with the the strict ESVA testing you mention. I understand thats its implimented on Jap cars that reach 10 years old and thats why imported ones are are nearly always around 10 years old (with a few exceptions). Guess they keep hold of them until such time. Just my 2p
  5. Welcome to the club mate! Very jealous as I'm still waiting to get some cash before buying mine! Get some pics up so we can all have a look see ;)
  6. Just my personal opinion but I think its a sin to put a towbar on such a lovely rear end but hey, I'm a noob so my opinion counts for nothing. I'm just filling the silence til someone with a sensible (and useful) comment arrives.
  7. Welcome to the club! A bit like you I'm using it to research my next purchase and all the people on here are very friendly. I hope to be an actual owner myself soon ;)
  8. I say fair play to you for taking the job on. I could probably get to where you are but its not taking it apart that frightens me, its setting the timing!! Persevere at let us know how you get on! :)
  9. In my experience, fibreglass bumpers (when not too thin) are alright but as said above, just not very forgiving when it comes to flex. So long as it comes from a reputable source. The key is not to hit anything I was surprised to learn no corporate members supply decent quality FG or Carbon body panels for LOC in all honesty. I do think its a false economy buying cheaper ebay kits because you'll spend more getting a bodyshop to get them to fit! That and 9 times of out 10, the FG quality is appalling.
  10. I hear ya fella, 4 - 4.5 from a private seller is achievable but most dealers want 5K plus and I notice most of the white ones are with dealers. Typical! I was gonna go see the below but seen as I have no money yet... Pistonheads Is it just me or is this site REALLY SLOW on things, I've used many OC forums but this one seems to take 2 minutes to think about each click! Love the content on here when it has loaded though, sorry, [/RANT]
  11. Hmm, if that was a painted price I wouldn't mind too much but am guessing its not! I get a lot of wiper blades if I type in "IS200 aero" lol Check it now and then is what you're saying, thats cool, thanks! Andy
  12. You're in a similar position to me by the sounds of it and funnily enough, our criteria is nearly the same too. I'm after a white manual tezza with less than 70K (miles) on the clock but have a budget of 5K. What I take from this is that we're not alone and when one does come up it gets snapped up really quick. I've been looking at importing one myself so griderjn, may PM you at some point too. Realistically though, because of the demand, you're budget might be a bit low, you'll lose out to someone with deeper pockets. At face value, you're right though, it should be simple but they are rarish cars and good examples and gone in a heartbeat. :( Pistonheads has one with black wheels for 4K with only 26K KM's on the clock, have you spoken to him? I'm waiting for my cash to turn up at the moment and am frustrated with whats on offer cos I've seen some really good examples sell while I've been waiting for my cash to come through.
  13. How much is not cheap? :( Are the no LOC suppliers/members that do decent fitting FG/GRP replicas?
  14. Can't you get the TTE bumper direct from dealerships then? I'm in love with the bumper already and I don't even own a car to fit it to yet!
  15. Ah, thank you, have put up a post :)
  16. I will try come along briefly to take a look around some cars if thats ok but will be in my missus' Seat Ibiza. We are travelling back from Cornwall and this is on the way home so was hoping you guys would be obliging. If nothing else, I get to have a look around them close up. I posted a thread for assistance: My Thread I've never met anyone from here and seen as I'm not actually an owner yet, I don't have much to bring to the table. Hope this is ok though? Andy
  17. I live in Swindon and am looking to buy an Altezza RS200 in the next month or so and was wondering if anyone local (ish)would be kind enough to take me for a spin and let me have a little drive so I know what a good one, drives, sounds and looks like. I could go and view one from a seller but there is a risk they hide things for a sale or I may take something abnormal as normal! Also, is anyone looking to let go of a white manual RS200 with less than 70K on the clock (miles) in the next couple of months? Would rather buy off a fellow LOC member than pistonheads or autotrader. I know I've not posted much but I'm 27 and serious about a sale and not just a test pilot looking for free thrills. I just don't want to buy one with problems.
  18. Ah no, thats cool! There will be others, bit far for me to travel being honest! I want a white manual preferably but I'll keep my eyes peeled :-) Still, lovely example mate!!
  19. Once you use poorboys, you'll never use autoglym/turtle wax/simoniz again. Its incredible stuff and you will see a difference. Been using poorboys for about 5 years and always detail with it now as it beats most other stuff I've used hands down. I do combo it up with megs and a couple of other brands (dodo juice) cos the gold class shampoo is awesome as is the tye blackener. I prefer Rain-X on the windows personally. The waffle weave drying towels I can recommend too! :)
  20. Yours is up on Pistonheads Stevie isn't it? Didn't realise it was a member car, I sent you a questions about it today.... Maybe you're its new owner in which case, I'm jealous lol
  21. Absolutely stunning example mate! Shame you have to sell! Its nearly perfect for me except its an Auto. That takes absolutely nothing away from yours its just me being picky btw MINT - good luck with the sale fella
  22. Looks mint fella but be honest........is there any ride comfort left?? lol
  23. Whats the PH link mate? I didn't realise that either, I'm looking for an altezza and keep an eye on those sections. Is it just classifieds or the whole "for sale" section? I didn't quite understand why you'd need a classifieds section cos you can post your car for sale in the main for sale bit anyway
  24. You stealing my ideas Ginge?? :-o
  25. Thanks for the replies peeps! I've not even bought one yet and having had a look at some member cars, I already want a TTE front bumper and some dials..... :) I promised myself I wouldn't do much to it but I've already started with the old "i'll just do a few bits"
