  1. Is it not just a case of driving to the given conditions? When "coming in too fast" what do you expect? If you were in a front wheel car, you'd understeer and end up in a hedge aswell. All it requires is a sensible head to say "oh, the road is wet...I should probably go a bit easier today" Any RWD will try to kill you if you hoon into corners and roundabouts and rely on TC to save you (or any electronic gadgetry for that matter) Its all about knowing how to drive them. Brake in straight lines and avoid twitchy movements which will upset weight distribution/momentum. Maybe its your driving thats the problem, not the car? Not trying to have a go or insult you but its just the gist I get from your original post.
  2. Welcome to the club dude As for the lip, I think it looks quite nice, not too "in your face"!
  3. Don't like them at all mate, sorry. For that reason, I'm out. As Steve says though, its your car and money :)
  4. Ok, so who's watching it? Last nights episode wasn't the funniest but still pretty funny. Karl Pilkington just cracks me up in general though. Views/opinions....discuss :)
  5. Check your radiator has coolant in. I'm gonna bet the garage have drained your rad to do the work and forgotten to put fluid back in... The fans won't come on if the rad isn't hot and the rad won't get hot if its bone dry! Whilst the car is cold, pop the bonnet, and open the radiator cap. Look inside and fluid should be over the top of the rad elements and maybe even some coolant in your overflow reservoir (if the RX300 has one). If you can't see any and you don't have any coolant at home, fill the radiator up with tap water as a VERY short term measure and take it straight to the garage where they can drain it and put OEM spec coolant in. If there is coolant, the next check would be the thermostat if it were mine. If its the former, get them to sort it free of charge and then sack them. Take it somewhere else next time because thats a schoolboy error!
  6. Good point, welcome to the club :) I would say its a solid starting point. Best guess would be someone has been playing with the power feed (badly) to get the DVD player permanent power and in doing so, has tied up the ignition ring light to do the same....
  7. The trouble with using an alarm to fold them in and out is that if you have anti-hijack functionality, which locks your car say 2 mins after ignition, then the mirrors fold in whilst you're driving. There may be a way to wire around that but have read posts on other forums from people thinking it was a great idea at the time but instead of having to fold them in manually on locking, they instead had to unfold them manually whilst driving. Just consider it before wiring it all in is my advice. Edit: just read FLEXA's post again and if its coming off a total closure module then it wouldn't have that problem. But I've just had an alarm fitted on my Tezza and the guy said total closure would set me back £140 because he'd have to wire each window seperately. But, it would work!
  8. We know what they look like dude, its getting hold of some that will do the job and not look cheap thats the problem Or even these will be fine And I'm not interested in something like This Either! lol
  9. It comes on and off with the courtesy lighting mate. Doesn't stay on whilst driving or whilst the car is locked.
  10. I completely agree which is why I've posted up asking for help. I already know I can go straight to Volk and get them, its not what I asked though. Alternative solutions was what I was really angling for to be blunt but I don't want to buy any old pap ;) I was hoping someone would come online and say "ah yes, I had this problem, I bought these from ebay and they look pretty good cost £35 for a set or something..." Pie in the sky? Maybe.....I can do nowt but ask I doubt machined caps will be that much cheaper but I'll take the suggestion on board, thank you. Yeah, I could buy some cheapie universal caps for £12 off ebay but I'd have to hack them to get them to fit but don't think thats in keeping with the £1500 (or whatever they are) alloys that are on there
  11. Right, well, thank you! Stevie - found this Centre Caps which may be of use. It mentions fitment for TE37CUP & TE37 19" but no idea if thats right or not but you at least get the option to plug your details in with the order so they can check your order will fit your wheels!
  12. I did read to look out for blocked drain plug holes from the sunroof runners which will let water into the boot? Could've been for IS200/300 though.... Will try and find the thread I read it in.....edit pending Heres the Link it was for the IS200 but there may be design similarities so worth checking out. Just trying to be helpful really.
  13. Yup, liking that mate! ;) Wheels do look awesome!!!
  14. Adrian Flux quote cheap so I just call them and then get SKY to match it (which they always do). If I don't get a cheaper quote from Adrian Flux, I then shop around other imported car insurance brokers. But for the last 3 years, the AF/SKY combo has worked out great for me :)
  15. Yeah, they'll do if they fit Te37's 17"?? Where did you get them from? I have a mate who does wheel refurbs so he can work with whatever I give him. I just don't want to use cheap caps.
  16. Hey all, I have some 17" white Volk TE37's but they have no centre caps. I've done some searching and can find some that fit 18" or 19" but nothing smaller..... I don't think they come supplied with them and what I can find (for 18's and 19's) looks to cost around £150 for a set. So, has anyone else had this problem and what was your solution? Just think it looks a bit pony seeing the hub nut!!!
  17. I agree that there is little actvity during the day and not that much in the way of banter either. Still, its racked with knowledge and information and guess thats why people join it! Don't get me wrong, I like it on here, its just not as busy or as the OP says, interesting, as other OC's I've been a member on.
  18. I always bow to better knowledge. I was in the ball park though and in part, my point still stands. The JCI imposed must at least influence the decision of the owner to sell on if its a risk to keep. You point holds more water though it must be said. If I was wearing a hat, I'd take it off.
  19. Has an RS200......I'm in LOVE!!!!!

    Arb/droplinks

Thanks for the replies and advice guys! Will go down the ebay route then I think. I'm really hoping its not the coilovers! Its just one corner thats particularly noisy on all bumps. The others do make bit of a "donk" on bigger shocks but are quiet the rest of the time. This makes me think its other suspension components on the most stressed corner....drivers front! E910 - good luck with the search mate, feel free to let me know what cured yours. ;-)
  21. Call Sky Insurance, they have their own section on this club mate! I've used them for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. They do specialise on modified and imported so standard cars are a lot more to insure with them!
  22. Hi All, Brought my Altezza home on Saturday and it has a nasty knock on the drivers front. I'm hoping its the ARB links or ball joints and not the HKS coily's but just looking to start replacing the cheaper parts first! So, I found these: My linkEbay Set But am I better off going to Lexus/Toyato as having read up on it, the fronts from dealer are about £55? Or are there uprated droplinks that people rave about?? Cheers J3NKO
  23. Sorry, I've used incorrect terminology here. The japanese domestic market cars have to undergo a huge test once they reach ten years old. Think its part of the law there. These tests are hugely expensive so rather than forking out loads of money on their ten year old cars, they buy newer ones which is why ten year old cars are more frequently up for auction/import. The ESVA/SVA is a test the UK requires of imported cars and is different from that imposed by Jap law.
