  3. hi just wondering what diff and gearbox oil will put up with a bit more temperature than normal?? as when ive been sliding my car ive been noticing the box and that getting fairly hot... im looking to change the oils in both the box and diff and didnt think of the heat i would be putting it through... and have got sx75w90 for both at the moment and since i have read that its good in low temperatures.. which is leading me to believe that its performance will deteriorate in high temperatures, as in excessive use... any help or info will be appreciated :) cheers
  4. yeah i used the allen key to get it off but i ment for the other side?? it has a recess but no allen key... surely that would had been tonnes easier??

  6. hi basically i have inflicted a fair bit of damage on my is200.... and have the replacement parts on order and should be picking them up soon but i noticed when i was taking this part off it was just spinning in what i would call the 'cup'??? just wondered when fitting the new one how to i stop this happening?? surely i shouldnt be gripping on the threadded bit?? heres a picture of before and a picture of the new part. hope you guys can help cheers..
  7. Ok then i am a spark so basically the extract fan sounds like it is 12v or 24v you should "check first" though. if it is either of those voltages you will need a transformer if there is not one already built in. If it is 230v you should just take a live and neutral from a light fitting and connect through in a joint box or a spur. About the lights going off with the steam i would just check that all connections are tight firstly and if that dont do it, it could possibly be the switch but it sounds abit weird to me, is it just the bathroom lights that go off? where abouts are you by the way? i have never come across a 24v fan for household use nor a fan with the transformer built in, that would kind of defeat the object would it not ? surely if anything this would be a smarter option considering the enviroment it will be in?? humid/ect low voltage and that .. but im sure it should be of a certain IP protection.... and ofcourse on a RCBO ;)
  8. cheers mate that looks much better! brand spanking! cheers guys

  18. Yeah could do... I'd still like to see a side view of the whole car to see what I think.... I'll get googeling!
  19. @ bazza yeah it is the standard sport one... and ok cool for the heads up..... and @ scudney... because the price was right ;) and good idea not sure why i didnt think of this in the first place..... anyone with some pics get posting.. cheers for the replys
  20. hi ive seen these to.. im guessing these slide over the standard damper?? if so i wouldnt really want to go with that option... as if they go lower than say 40mm for example there going to put much more stress on the standard damper, thus shortening the life of the dampers... if i were you id spend a bit more and just get full coloivers with the damper to suit the varying ride heights possible as then they have the right spring rate for the damper... im no mechanic but its what i see as being logical..???
  21. yeah surely just remove the wheel and look into the top of the calliper and youl see if theres any meat left opn the pads and if there is you could try removing the caliper to check the pad face to see if it has something stuck to the face? ie. grit or something?
  22. hi mate just wondering what size your current wheels were? as in make, offset and width? dont worry not going to rob your details already got my wheels just wondered what fitment people are going for? cheers fella
