had it 2 years done 30K miles, have had dash light up twice on both occasions cleaned the egr valve and was lucky that it cleared. also have intention of getting the dpf mapped out and that should put my mind at ease. overall the car is a pleasure to drive but the MPG is crap im getting average of 31-33MPG i would expect at least 40. all problems aside this is ridiculous for a diesel car. good car has its problems like all cars. Knowing what i know now what would i do...........if i was to buy a lexus again it would be the is250 and not the diesel.

Hi i have a is220d and when i walk up to it drivers side, only the drivers door unlocks. is it possible to change that so all of them unlock. does it need to be done at the dealers? thanks

Thanks. I hope it is minor problem whatever the noise is. A friend of mine has got an appointment at remap24 on Saturday. Once he fits it I will ask him if it has made a difference. His car used to smoke a lot. Saying that he drove mostly local roads as well.

Hi come across the website remap24 who have an emulator for the lexus, has anyone tried it does it work? i read previously about a powerking emulator from italy and couldnt find any feedback on it. Also on my trawl of the net i come across sinspeed who "claim" to have managed to get into toyota ecu's and can modify them to removed the dpf. i called both companies sinspeed wanted my car for a week and said costs would start from 795 and could be more depending on what else is found. remap24 wanted 550 and wanted the car for 4 hours. as remap24 is not far from me i plan on paying them a visit to see what exactly it entails. (im sick of the smoke)

i get average of 38 with a few shorts trips and some longer a road commutes to work at quiet times.

The is220D is such an awful car lack of legroom in the back, the boot space is atrocious especially having non foldable seats and dont get me started on the 6th gear. :P consumption wise i am seeing average of 40 mpg which im really happy about, 20 mile light/no traffic commute to work.

have you not considered getting an amp from the breakers yard.

where would be the best place to buy the front and rear splitters/spoilers from and roughly how much do they cost. your car looks fabulous.

theres no cambelt on the is220d.

Keep an eye on ebay or it mught be worthwhile ringing breakers to get a cheapish one,

EGR valve is found on diesel engines,

the dpf filter is also a problem on thesee cars as well as the head gasket, Pretty hefty bills but if under warranty then i wouldnt worry too much.

called lexus bradford and the did advise 5w30 semi synthetic.... hmmmm bit confused now

this cars mpg for a diesel are a joke. i think the dpnr has a big part to play in these ridicuous figures we seem to be getting.

As above plan on doing the service at a local garage instead of stealers, what oil would you recommend and what grade? regards
