  1. You might indeed find that the front belts are unique to the US, we fit unique belts to our US "world cars".....not for legislation reasons, for.....and how can I put this delicately, differences between US and rest of world anthropomorphic statistics......the US belts are longer! :D You know there just might be something in that B) Ah well - keep searching Thanks David
  2. My US RX400h has done the same thing occasionally ever since I have had it (31000 miles in 3.5 years) - almost always when the car is cold and it's the first brake application, more so if the air is damp. I found that releasing the brake pedal and immediately reapplying it worked, the regeneration brake engaged and all was fine. Not noticed anything with the consumption though but I rarely watch that part of the display. Overall consumption has remained static at 23.6 mpg (US gallons). I did question my dealer when I first noticed it, they checked the car thoroughly and found no faults. Lexus dealers in the US right now are paranoid after that crash involving a loaner car fitted with after market floor mats which jammed the accelerator pedal. That happened locally and got a huge amount of coverage so they are extra cautious when dealing with reports of anything to do with braking or acceleration. I have stopped worrying about it as it isn't serious and I have the dealer report (somewhere) giving the car a clean bill of health. Cheers David
  3. Hi, Please could I ask anyone with an RX400h - 2008 model year for preference - to take a look a their seat belt labels and see if EVERY belt has the "E" mark in a circle with a number code. The number code is not relevant, just the "E" mark. Only the rear belts on my car have this mark but all belts have the legend "conforms to F/CMVSS209" so I'm wondering if the French DRIRE is going to make me change all my seat belts which could get expensive. I tried to put an image of the label here but it won't let me so I have posted it in an album in members pictures: Thanks in advance David

  7. I agree, the 400h is not only more economical, its more powerful and much nicer to drive. We were loaned a RX330 when our 400h was in for service - even my wife commented on the difference and she was riding shotgun Cheers David
  8. Hi, Just to add that the battery problem exists here in the US as well in a warm & sunny climate. I have an RX400h (2008) and my brother has the (mechanically identical) Toyota Highlander. Unattended battery life is 3 weeks maxiumum - leave the key in the ignition and its one hour, leave a door cracked open and overnight a dead battery. Part of the problem is that many electrical components are "live" and actually functioning when the vehicle is switched off ) only a battery disconnect solves it and then you have to reprogra, everything: It's a royal pain. However looks like you guys may have come up with a couple of partial solutions (70ah deep cycle and/or portable jump start)which is an option when I ,ove to France Cheers David
