  1. As above this is a rubber boot protector for either is220/250 cars. its a genuine Lexus mat which cost over £100 from the dealer. £40 collected
  2. I had a white one with the red interior and it was superb. I had it on a 24 hour test drive and I couldn't fault anything on it. i had that from Swindon as it happens. sadly my budget won't stretch to the new shape yet but defiantely next time round
  3. Yes, I agree, it's a more sedate drive compared to the gs450 but then I don't think the power delivery of the gs would feel right in an SUV. all that said, the rx seems to have a nice sweet spot between 40-50mph and it's doesn't hang around. im certainly looking forward to picking it up next week although in theory it's my wife's car. Think we will take turns on a weekly rota, lol. Hi Normski, i dealt with peter and yes I purchased it from cheltenham. They seem to have about 8 of them in currently at various prices. i think having both the RX450 & GS450 should cover all my bases for now. ideally I'd like just one newer car but at the moment we need two cars so two older ones it is for a few years.

  5. So I have been thinking about a vehicle that offered a more practical boot space and still enjoyable to drive. I currently have an is250 se-l & GS450h. The IS-250 has been a faultless drive for 4.5 years but alas with the miles now at 120,000 it was time to trade her in. It will be a sad day but I'm sure the joy of the new RX450h will more than make up for its loss. i was on a budget and although there seem to be plenty of RX around at the moment, quite a few I looked at show a fair amount of wear. It seems unlike the saloons, these cars seem to get more general abuse and this often means more worn interiors and often more scratches on the exteriors. anyway, after looking at a few I sourced a prime example for a fair price at my local Lexus dealership. its absolutely immaculate inside and the exterior has only the odd mark which is more than acceptable for a 7 year old SUV.. the best part is that it has only covered 39k from new on one owner. should be a lot easier to slip the road bike in the boot for my weekly ride.
  6. The warranty decision system is certainly very inconsistent. obviously the decision is never the actual Lexus dealer itself as all claims go to Lexus warranty direct. I know this as when I have had warranty work done the dealership has to request authorisation. as far as the dealers are concerned ed they love warranty work as they get paid the same as if you paid out if your own pocket. Its all money in the bank for the franchise. hope your outcome is positive.
  7. Lol, well its definately not the quietest engine from stone cold but mine doesn't sound that bad. Sure it's not he neighbour starting up there old ford each morning at the same time as you... carl
  8. I only have an iPhone 6 so can't comment on android but I connected fine to both vehicles I test drive without problems
  9. Thanks for the reply. I found that the se-i has Bluetooth for the audio so I can send music straight from my mobile which in essence negates the requirement for the hard drive or USB for that matter. I presume Bluetooth is standard on the whole range?
  10. I'm looking to buy a rx450h around 2009-2010 plate. can someone confirm if all models have the hdd drives I have heard of. im looking mainly at the SE-i model as there seem to be more of these available. i want a USB port to play my music etc. cheers carl
  11. Regarding the vvti oil pipes if it's the same issue as mine it's the labour that cost. Apparently a lot to take apart to ge to pipes. Was many hundreds of pounds in labour alone.
  12. The vvti oil leak seems to be quite common. Had mine fixed on the warranty.
  13. Yep, if you sit stationary then you can feel the slight lumpy idle. It will clear once the engine gets up to temperature or by the time you stop after pulling away. inhad mine in Lexus several times and even had them strip down the engine to view the inlet and exhaust valves which turned out to be spotless. never got to the bottom of it and just live with it now. i know it's there but because it's only the very first start of the day and if I pull straight off I never feel it. if you ever find a reason, I suspect a sensor of some sort. anyway, mines been like it for nearly two years and never got worse.
  14. I have some genuine Lexus roof racks for the Gs for sale. They were for my gs450h. they been in my garage for over a year so have some marks and scratches on but perfectly good working order. you will need four bits of 3m tape which sit under each corner, few pounds from halfords. will let go for £80 collected from Gloucester. carl
  15. So the lesson to this story, get that wheeley bin out first thing in the morning yourself to avoid it happening again.
  16. Yeo, agree with all, worth every penny. My warranty has paid for itself several times over. only today I took my car in as the driver washer jet was blocked and the wing mirrors were not tilting down correctly. turns out a new washer jet is required and two new mirrors as both had faults. bill comes to just over £1000 and all covered by warranty. definately buy it.
  17. Glad you are enjoying the car. They are super cars and so few people seem to realise. i have come to enjoy the fact that the gs is very discreet yet when required a super saloon. The car pretty much ticks all the boxes except for good boot space. i have made do with the latter. enjoy
  18. I had the same happen to me recently and two weeks after getting it repaired it happened again in exactly the same spot which incidentally was the same spot as yours. its a bumper off and respray to do it properly. cost me £270 from a reputable paint sprayer near me. the annoying thing is no matter how good the spray job you attend to notice a slight difference in colour. In my case with silver its to do with how the metallic flec sits in the paint. Would have to spray in both side panels as way to completely blend at additional cost. hope you get it sorted quickly as there is nothing worse than driving with damaged bodywork.
  19. Interestingly despite the gs450h not being classed as a performance car it's near as quick as the Impreza if not quicker than some models..lol. point being, the gs450 is quicker than most so called performance cars so I'm not convinced about what fuel is best. i once had pinking when using standard fuel so always use premium now and never have any problems.
  20. Likewise I found these cruise features very nice once you get used to it. you have to overtake within good distance so as not to cause the auto breaking to cut in. i also noticed that if you don't indicate when changing lanes the car buzzed and vibrated as it thinks you are wondering out of lane unintentionally. They should fit this bit to Audi and Bmw cars as they always seem to forget indicators-lol
  21. I updated my satnav disc for one off eBay and I am able to use all functions on the satnav whilst in motion. my car is the gs450 2007 plate but I'm pretty sure the satnav is all the same.
  22. Sounds a good option after the gs. i also own a gs450 and I've driven pretty much every model Lexus out there currently and the only other Lexus that I felt satisfied in was the rx450. hasnt got quite the acceleration of the gs but it's still the same lovely engine with a good surge of power when needed. im sure your be very happy with your new vehicle. post some pictures once you have it. carl
  23. I believe the Lexus oem ones are around £50 each so not cheap. i did by dome replacement trims from eBay but they look more of a Matt aluminium finish. Some might like this but I preferred the original trims. as a consequence I never even took them out the plastic packaging do they are in the garage.
