  1. Just noticed the roof lining has dropped, not seen that before .
  2. Does look very very clean and tidy both body and interior..things go down hill with the bonnet open 😮 Rusty radiator brackets , battery jacket missing . History wise, not been mot’ed or taxed since last March 2023. As a rule of thumb, rusty radiator brackets ,corroded underside. would definitely make a very good show car and a rare colour, price is a bit top heavy but acceptable if it’s dealer service stamp for every year of its life. Photo’s too shaded to see brand of tyres ☹️ …Send Gary around he’s our best negotiator for a good deal !😁😁
  3. Gardening at the moment…will have a look in a bit 👍🏻
  4. Battery is just facing back to front , positive + terminal will be in top left hand corner when fitted 👍🏻👍🏻
  5. I’ve done my own timing belt ..it’s very logical to do, the independent sport car dealer should be able to do it . Dozens of YouTube clips of how it’s done if they need to see how it’s done . Poor show for Toyota not getting back to you …chase them up.
  6. Do you have a Toyota dealer near you at home ?
  7. Replacing the timing belt is the insurance policy you don’t get a 5-10k destroyed engine . Owners are just playing Russian roulette if it’s over due. With used SC430’s it’s finding the balance between a totally neglected model to ones that only ever seen a main dealer for everything. Gary’s example was one they stands out to me, very low price paid yet only needed servicing etc 👍🏻
  8. This one seems rather top heavy on price ….. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202403247922348
  9. This looks a very clean and tidy example, only observation is the wheels being off a Rx300 are thinner than the original SC wheels ☹️ SC 18 X 8 RX 18 X 7 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202403247921066
  10. Get it on charge 👍🏻
  11. What’s the delivery time ?
  12. I got my first Yuasa from Halfords back in 2016, never heard of them before that. Being Japanese i thought would complement my Lexus well, not looked at another brand since then , had them fitted to a pair of RAV4’s and my previous SC430 👍🏻 15% is a helpful saving …that will make you smile ! 😉
  13. Two choices I would use.. Yuasa 5 year guarantee…. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/batteries/car-batteries/yuasa-hsb096-silver-12v-car-battery-5-year-guarantee-161003.html …or Bosch silver top. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253245427819 my car came with a Yuasa 4 year guarantee been good so far .. https://www.gsfcarparts.com/za042654
  14. Technically your car is still below the average and good on you for not being afraid of a few miles. The American and Australia example do 250k with drama, it’s just underside corrosion that can be an issue in the UK. lexus with do a safety check as well, so will tell you anything they find. Just don’t rush into any advisory work straight away 👍🏻👍🏻
  15. That is a very good price 👍🏻 looks likes you’ve got yourself a lovely example 😎 Black will keep you busy cleaning it 😉😉
  16. Does it all work okay now ?
  17. Got a thread running on here. Being out of season and working on the car on the drive, I don’t do wet or cold weather 😉
  18. Not used it much ..went to brooklands museum car show on New Year’s Day, spent more time working on it than driving it …but then that’s me until I’m happy with it 👍🏻
  19. This company make up spray paint to suit your cars paint code… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321713534136 or spray it gloss black.
  20. The secret is catching them before they start to rust the slam panel….new nuts would also help. Maybe go stainless steel 👍🏻
  21. You done very well with your purchase Gary, and I’m guessing no other problems other that getting it serviced ?
  22. Yes I found it spot on, I only sprayed the centre section upto the rubber bonnet stops, can’t see a difference in the paint finish . if it helps this is what I bought …. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hycote-Bodyshop-Satin-Black-400ml/dp/B004SHKJES/ref=sr_1_19?crid=37PKU6ZAFC3PF&keywords=Chassis+gloss+Black+400ml&qid=1707868486&s=automotive&sprefix=chassis+gloss+black+400ml%2Cautomotive%2C223&sr=1-19
  23. Yes…solution in buy them new from Japan ..cheap as chips👍🏻 Being at the front i think they are susceptible to road salt ☹️
  24. The slam panel I done in satin and the radiator brackets in gloss👍🏻 I guarantee the rad brackets will rust again only answer is to buy new…for me enjoy the challenge 😉
  25. Dressed up the slam panel with a fresh coat of satin black, also stripped off all the brackets and painted them, then reassembled with my obsession of black plastic caps on all the bolt heads….I really need to get out more ! 😄😄 10mm plastic caps can be found on eBay 👍🏻👍🏻
