  2. Yeh guess right about air lock just this car is so perfect right now I panic with all signs . Well I say signs it's only few small things and as car running perfect. have coolant on the way toyota red concentrate as it was cheaper to buy 5L for £24 and buy 5l distillers water £3.99 halfords. Sure all is well just treating her like new born thought taking heads off that V8 dOesnt sound fun. Give me 4 clyinder and will take it to peices rebuild without any thought but get nervous with fine balance of V8 my XJ8 was same so sensitive to things
  3. I did a long search one afternoon on the net after redoing my pins and replacing the little bush. I started my search after replaced both of them at a cost of 5 quid each from Lexus. Its supposed to be an anti vibration bush but i was running both front callipers without it and didn't notice a difference when i installed them. Good example of Lexus old way of over engineering before they discovered cost cutting & cheap plastics of the new Lexus models
  4. hay there I recently installed park sensors on my 430, again like you only thing that i didnt have. I started search on ebay found dealer selling the kit and it has been colour coded for 14.99. Got the kit in two days every easy to install 4 drill holes just above the crome strip on the bumper. Next take plastic panel that covers boot lock off and drive a hole put 1 inch gromet in. Then run wiring along rear lights wiring and cable tie. I put the control box next to the sat nav computer. The sensors are ran off the reverse light as a switch, simple attach wiring crimps to +&-. Then you should all be done, I ran my speaker to the front of the car and stuck on next to fuse box by feet hidden. Just did this as i found it was very quiet i had to extend the wire slightly and ran it through the channels in the floor. very simple install, took just over an hour with help of a beer. Just make sure to use masking tape on bumper and triple check drilling locations first as there is a metal plate behind the bumper. sorry hope helped but didnt rabbit on
  5. I love my GS 430 but i have to say having 2 Jaguars an S-type and a XJ8. I would get a Jaguar pain to fix but beautiful to drive cant beat an XJ8 like flying along the road.
  6. first off going to family friends garage in few days just to double check. I have a 2001 gs430 just about 49k on clock, right so the story had water running noise behind dash had it since had the car(5 months). Yesterday went to check coolant saw was low in expansion at same time took oil cap off and found i had milky top. Thing is i changed the oil about a week ago and all looked ok on oil i just cant remember if i looked at the cap and if it was milky. so i cleaned the cap put some more distilled water in tank and ordered some toyota coolant off ebay at same time. I went for a good drive to warm the car up water behind dash stopped and drove good. When I checked today coolant has gone down in cap and small about of milky oil on oil cap. Right car starts first time and idles good most my driving is short distance so most big engine cars especially my jags have milky caps due to not warming up. Temp always reads bang smack in middle no matter how long she is driven Cant seem to see any oil floating in coolant tank but coolant is no longer red overdue to be changed. No loss of power although had to tell from that 4.3 as powerful no matter that so was thinking if anyone had any other ideas i mean i did put say 200ml more water in coolant and now its gone but the whole system has about 10 gallons. So would like to think all the miles i have done the expansion take was just thirsty. I mean no temp gauge moving for all the months i have driven. Am i just panicking over nothing and should refill water coolant again or plan for the worse. Just seems all the money i have spent in last few months sorting different things out and now i am faced with a very expensive repair. But also i would have thought it would be rare for a engine my milage made by Lexus would go wrong. I had a Jaguar that had 150k miles on her she blew a coolant hose twice loosing everything ran on low oil do to burn half it off and still no problems. So my luck of having a car that is in tip top condition go is annoying Having compression test done thursday as before thanks for any replies club has been such help since switching from jaguar to lexus

It reads generic codes can bring up a digital dash showing coolant temp, rpm ect. Software doesnt do air bag resets ect but for just rearing and deleting codes saves you 40 quid having codes looked at garage.

  9. thank you before for listing the part numbers i need, i was wondering if you knew if this part comes with or has a bearing. I didnt think it had a bearing on this but i found one on ebay and it stated that it does not come with bearing. so the fact seller lists it does not come with bearing must mean it should have one. many thanks
  10. I did the same and got a elm327 i think its called on ebay about 15 quid for my Jaguar S-Type works great. Well have found with the GS 430 it doesnt always connect first time and i have to disable and option otherwise it connects and resets no stop. So good to have car running all good again that 9mpg is now 14mpg so much better.
  11. right had a look and you were right does anyone in the UK no about the american aftermarket parts for this mount. Also what is require is the part listed above everything you need or is that just the bush or baring. many thanks
  12. all changed all perfect no more errors at last the way i look at it is lexus wanted 300 to change the sensor i have had 2 replaced for 160 quid so hopefully many more years of motoring
  13. right sensor on the way tried to loosen the sensor today just undo then retighten. make it easier for when new one arrives but when do you know shes no budging with an o2 wrench so got good strong 1/2 wrench and cut sensor down.
  14. thank you i think you are right i have been looking into aftermarket and all the america guys are saying best sticking with toyota parts. So guess when had cam belt done this will be next on my to do list just hate that knock knock knock
  15. Well guess who feels silly know although testing sensor one drivers side everything reads ok. Well as I borrowed an O2 spanner last time think will go down the route of cutting of and getting breaker bar in there. Lucky ad I said before she looks not too old so well least not original and wiring boot is all clean. So should come out better than the last one. Thank you for all your help need to order new one and see how go will repost when all is conpleted. Also going to do a guide on installing aftermarket reversing sensors in next few days only option my 430 seems to lack.
  16. also this is going to sound very amateur but on the website you provided there is a differences between front left and right. now which side is drivers as it says direct import from US have they kept it US drivers on left or UK drivers on right. Wait confused myself so if i do in fact need drivers what side do i need from there site. got to say many thanks everyone on forum is great with little tips my local Lexus dealer arent to helpful. Had brakes apart the other day went to dealer to get new slide pin and the looks i got off staff for standing in show room with oily hands and face. Never found that with Jaguar their parts depart consisted of 3 guys that knew everything about the cars without the need to look it up on computer and normally covered in oil themselves.
  17. well now you say that i live in fear i may have changed the wrong one i changed the passenger one as it was original lexus and the one drivers side looks almost brand new. if i have changed the right one what other causes could there be. I need to change coolant as have the water running noise when i use the heater so have a little air lock. maf and throttle body have been cleaned out brand new iridium plugs in, wiring looks like just come out of factory only covered 48k.

  19. Right been back on a bosch machine everything runs fine when floored or idled on machine everything ok. Picked car back up on way home no reason light back on should I check the fuse if so where is it located and under what name ? Many thanks
  20. right so now we have new poly bushes and 4 new tyres new brake shims from america and still i hear a knock. what have you all heard about a so called piece of rubber at the top of the suspension tower Lexus told me that could be the last place to check.
  21. well been to mates garage today plugged into some 23k bosch computer and both sensors working a ok no bad grounding or anything. so if comes back on when floor it i will clear the code again and wait for a lexus genuine one to pop up on ebay. As it has been changed recently if i get a lexus one should come out quite easy. have read on america site about some denso ones being a bit funny for no reason.
  22. Yes was p0155 again comes on after half hour or so normal drivin or just after car being pushed. Going to have alignment done with family friends garage so see if he can work it out
  23. same dealings with a Lexus main dealer had a lower control arm replaced. asked if i get my alignment done at the same time and i got of course sir anytime we touch suspension we like to re align. went to get the keys has alignment been done? and same thing as you have found yes sir all is good now. what do you know car became unstable cornering and drivers side started to hum. when i call them up when i realised they tried to charge me saying that it was never agreed. I have learnt to try do much myself and use family friends.
