  1. Thanks for advice, I eventually put it on AutoTrader and it sold within 12 hours to the person from whom I bought it!! I agree that this is not the time to be parting with a car of this quality. I have left the details on Autotrader because I thought that the BBS Alloys might be of interest. In my humble opinion they give the car the right look without going over the top. I do accept the many comments re originality. Than you.
  2. Would appreciate members thoughts on where to advertise car for sale in order to avoid the usual time wasters and car sharks. How do you find someone who is aware of the virtues of the SC 430 and does not start the conversation by quoting Top Gear! How do you find someone that you feel deserves to own your car?
  3. Thats two Yorkshire SC owners - I am sure that there are many more but perhaps not Club members. If either owners fancy a meet and chat I can make most times (retired) and very happy to drive to a suitable venue. I live near Richmond and regularly enjoy both moors and dales. Harrogate also has several decent meet-up spots. Over to you.
  4. Well, I really seem to have raised some strong comments and views re 'webuyanycar'. From the correspondence I note that a number of SC live North of Birmingham and wondered if there was sufficient interest in this part of the country for a meet and chat? I live in North Yorkshire and would be prepared to travel any reasonable distance.
  5. I have to agree with comments re webuyanycar and much prefer to buy and sell to private individuals. I have even been known to reject a sale because of doubts over suitability of prospective new owner!! In reply to earlier question I have not advertised the car anywhere as yet but should any club member wish to know more then please give me ring. 01748 822435.
  6. I recently decided to sell my 2002 SC due to insufficient usage and, like an earlier Club member, contacted 'webuyanycar' to get an idea as to its possible value. Their response was to offer £4600 for a car which has done less than 49000k, has full Lexus service history and has led a cosseted life. Clearly this is unacceptable and beggars belief. What I find strange is that their 'blurb' states that they have millions of satisfied customers - I wonder where they all are???? I have been fortunate in having owned many fine sports cars and the SC stands high in my satisfaction list, are we the only enthusiasts to to appreciate the SC's unique qualities????
  7. Very surprised to find a forum for the SC430. Have had mine for approx one month but driving limited to (a) collecting the car from Edinburgh and (B) a very brief run to keep the battery charged. Initial findings as follows: Ride poor - I have had several high performance cars during my driving lifetime and this is perhaps the most un-nerving. Any road imperfection will throw the car off track. I suspect that the problem can be traced to the very large alloys/tyres currently fitted (245/45 x 18 and 275/40 x 18). I will be seeking advice from the forum as soon as I have checked the wheels in more detail. Comfort - not as good as as SL500 which has air suspension but a close second. Finish - initial impressions good but await detailed inspection following first wash. Yes I agree with earlier views that they are not common and that a sighting is indeed a rarity. I look forward to posting more views and asking for advice soon. PS. Anyone else with an Sc in North Yorkshire?
