  1. Strange one.... Somewhere to start, When you try to start it and it doesn't, is it cranking but not firing or just totally dead? Is the security light on the dash off or still flashing? If it's still flashing the car is immobilised.
  2. You can upgrade the panel filter to k and n or pipercross. The advantage of this is it'll be the last air filter the car will ever need as they're washable and they sound a little better high up the rev range.
  3. The only one laughing here is Clarkson.... Now he can sit back, count his stacks of money and drive about in the amazing cars he owns all day.
  4. Noby you won't get that from a 200. 170bhp n/a isn't gonna happen. You will not get 10% increase in power from an intake. The reasons why I posted in my first post. The standard intake on an IS200 draws the air from outside the car, up the air scoop. An induction kit loses this air scoop and the car takes the air them from under the bonnet next to the hot manifold where the air is considerably hotter. Hot air doesn't make for good combustion. The induction kit and exhaust mod will make it sound better.... That's it.
  5. Yeah but boost is the only way. TTE superchargers are rare and when they come up they sell for about £2k. Will give you 60-70 more bhp. You can turbo it, there's a guy that makes and fits turbo kits for £2300 gets you to about 250bhp.
  6. The only engine that's easy to fit is another 1gfe. Unless you have deep pockets and I'm talking thousands to put a 2JZ or a 1JZ (I know of two 1jz builds that both took nearly £10k and another 1JZ build that took £15k although that did give 800bhp)
  7. Looking at no power gains for those mods. An induction kit will lose power as it's routed to draw air in from under the bonnet next to the hot manifold. The stock intake is the best for performance for the car. The exhaust won't give you more power either so you're probably looking at losing power or gaining at the most 5bhp. 25bhp isn't gonna happen. The only way to get more power is forced induction, so either supercharger or turbo.
  8. Don't know if it's a design flaw but yeah they rust from inside out. Just where it is I think, if cleaned regular inside the arches too then prob won't give you much issue. My 300 is starting to bubble there on both sides now 😞
  9. The judder is caused by the dual mass flywheel. Not by the clutch.
  10. Rust on the sills just below and in front the rear doors is very common. A lot started rusting there early in their life, a lot were covered by the 12 year anti corrosion warranty, my old 200 had work on the sills under this warranty. Most IS's are over 12 years old now tho
  11. Yes we have about 6 Altezzas on stand and a few IS300's including mine 😃
  12. Also you can search the group. On desktop site there a search box saying search group. Type in Japfest and you'll see all the post relating to Japfest
  13. We have made a seperate group for Japfest15 attendees so we don't clutter up the main group. Post in the main group if you're interested and either myself or Stuart Aspey will respond to you 👍
  14. Maybe a bit over the top but considering a cambelt snapping will kill your engine maybe being a bit over the top isn't such a bad thing?
  15. I've got a 300.... Handbook says 100k/10 years but Lexus Bristol said they now advise 60k/6 years same as the IS200
  16. Don't know if I'm allowed to post this here but I admin the Facebook IS200 page and this year 2015, we have a stand. So far we have 35 confirmed IS200/300's attending 👍 https://m.facebook.com/groups/179809172041079
  17. That's exactly the sane as my old aftermarket phone kit. Ariel on the tax disc holder with a wire leading into glove box (where the phone kit would've been) As for the sensors, I don't know which one is which but easy to find out. Turn headlights on auto in the day time and cover one until the lights come on. And yes the climate one senses the temp in the cabin and adjusts it accordingly depending on what temp you are asking for, that's why you have temps written on your dial
  18. For my sins my 300 has a sports grill with the sports badge lol
  19. When I say flush I mean don't drain the lot. Drain a little, fill a little. Like half a litre every couple of days. The 10k engine and oil filter change is going by the book. I have an IS300, we have the same engine
  20. I answered your other thread lol. Not worth more mate. They're not limited or even that rare, the kit was an optional extra from Lexus at new purchase. I owned a 200 with full TTE kit. When I sold it I didn't get anymore for it
