  1. This was mine when I took it off. Completely split. Yours looks similar
  2. That's the rear lower control arm bush. Very common for them to perish and yeah yours look shot.
  3. How can they sell it again knowing it has a busted head gasket? Unbelievable...
  4. It's in limp mode. Those lights are telling you it needs a diagnostic to retrieve the fault code to point to where the fault is. Nobody can help you without the diagnostic and fault codes.
  5. Vvti doesn't kick in. It's not a honda. It's always "on" The surge felt is the due to the ACIS (google Toyota ACIS) Tapping can be caused by non OEM oil filter, wrong grade of oil or could just be loud injectors as said. A lot of Toyotas/Lexus suffer noisy valve train as they age. Had a few Toyotas/lexus in my time and a lot suffered the "tapping" I managed to quiten my IS300 down by fitting OEM oil filter and using 10w/40 fully synthetic oil
  6. No. It's a safety feature and needs a dealer reset. I also read a story on here a whole back where they couldn't re set it and it costs a hell of a lot more than £120
  7. I was just answering your question...... "So why do I have the paperwork here from lexus who sold it in 2006 as a sport edition? " Codes for the IS300 sold in the UK (as they're all the same)........ JCE10. Chassis code 2JZ-GE engine code A650e. Transmission code A02B differential code Only code that will differ on the VIN plate is paint code. Wasn't trying to wind you up just stating facts that's all. Peace
  8. How long did you have to wait Jomo? I got told none in stock but we can order them for you but will take a few weeks. Ricky bought all the remaining "stock" (what dealers had on the shelf in this country)
  9. But if you want to call yours a sport cos it has an optional extra body kit on it that's cool 👍
  10. Dealer bull cr*p. If you do any research you'll see that all IS300's in the UK were exactly the same mechanically and only differed cosmetically if it had the optional "aero" kit on it (which was also available across the whole IS200 range also, even on non sport models the S and SE) which yours did. Also there is no model called the IS300 sport edition, family work at DVLA, all that comes up is saloon or sportcross. And I bet your V5 just says IS300 not IS300 sport or sport edition.
  11. No such thing as an IS300 sport model in the UK. They're just all IS300's but they have all the "sport" goodies from a 200. Some IS300's even have a sport badge such as mine (front grill) yet there's no actual IS300 sport lol. TTE kits were optional extras on all IS's, 200's and 300's and some 300's even have sport badges on the rear quarter panel windows.
  12. Not anymore you can't. Ricky bought all the remaining stock from Lexus/Toyota, and charges £50 a pair for them now. Monopoly.....
  13. Could be release bearing in the clutch or input shaft bearing in the gearbox as it's affected by you pushing the clutch. Check your clutch fluid (should be brimmed to the max) and gearbox oil. No dipstick or resoivoir to check for the box, only way to check is to undo the fill plug on the gearbox and make sure it's full (can't get any more oil in there)
  14. It's a completely different headlight for the 300. Different size, different mounting. Wings differ between 200's and 300's because of this also. You need an IS300 headlight, a 200 headlight (with orange lense) is no good to you. The 300's didn't have the orange indicator lense, not optional this is just how 300 headlights are
  15. You obviously know what you're doing but one thing you need to know... The cradle is your biggest challenge, it has to be perfect otherwise you'll shred belts for fun. You need a copy of the TTE cradle or a JIG of one. Also Patricks black box is what you ideally want. Unfortunately he's not on this forum, well he is but not active. You can only reach him through O J C (out law #) cradle info is also available on that forum and a guy sells them. I'm prob gonna get in trouble for mentioning the other forum but if you're seriously gonna do this you need to be on there and on here https://m.facebook.com/groups/179809172041079 Sorry mods of I've broke the rules but trying to help a guy out and that's what this forum is about isn't it? Cos mate you won't get the advice you need to DIY charge your car in here.
  16. The blade is just a key, like any other key, just like your front door key, it's just a piece of metal that needs cutting to fit a lock. There's no electronics involved in the blade. I've bought many different types of cases with blank blades from eBay. I've tried the flip keys, different design keys etc...All I ever needed to do was to get the blade cut and move all the electronics over.., simple 👍
  17. Of course it worked you transferred your old immobiliser chip (transponder) which was already programmed to the car from your working master key to a blank case. You only need to programme the key when you buy a new key complete with blank transponder inside that's not programmed to anything. If you just remove the insides from a working master key to a blank case then yeah all you need to do is cut the blank blade.
  18. Yeah the flared arches are actually quite a common mod nowadays. They look great I think
  19. How's these for different to anything else out there..... :)
  20. That's not even that impressive or different. Stock 17"s painted black and a front bumper. You should see some of the IS200/300's on the FB group 👍
