Believe me, it comes apart and goes back together very easily, should take about 10mins if that. just take the surround off by the gearbox and the ashtray may come out. if not pull the airvents out and unscrew the stereo, should all come out nicely. if you get stuck give me a shout. Bison :zee:

If your excess is more than the repair itself. The best thing you can do is not claim on you insurance and pay for the damage yourself. This would leave you £350 down but would save you losing 2 yrs NCB and having the a claim on your record for 5yrs. Also making a claim will increase your premium for next year. Of course if it turns out that it's not your fault any excess you pay will be claimed back from the 3rd party. Regards Andrew

The simple answer is NO. I have had my console out loads messing about with stereo stuff. So there is no quick fix. but if you take the centre surround from where your gearbox is off, should just unclip. you may be able to pull the ashtray out, but without looking but I can't be 100%. Bison

hmmm I would also stress that you should NOT reply to correspondance sent by the third party or the car hire car company. You should forward all correspondance directly to your insurer and let them deal with it. You should also express the severe distress that these letters have caused you. Bison :zee:

I also work in Motor Insurance. And thought you might like to know.... If the accident turns out to be a "fault" accident or 50/50 (which would be classed as non fault but still dissallowed) you would still have 1 yrs NCB. If you make a claim on your own insurance you get stepped back 2yrs. The industry max is 4yrs, so even if you were claim free for 20 yrs and had a fault accident you would still step back to 2yrs, (unless of course you had no claims bonus protection) Regards Bison :zee:

Thanks for the info guys. It took me about 10 mins to get my rear lights out?? I went for the totally red look, tinted my Orange part of the lense red. looks really nice and you can't tell they are sprayed as my mate (a sprayer) did them mint! Only prob is they Flash red when I indicate :P But i think this is cool as well (might be illegal but what the hey! ) Should be legal it is in the States and should be here if it's not already!! Just over an hr till I leave the house. I'm really excited now!! I'll have to try and sneak out when the missus isn't looking. I know what you mean about quality women and the English accent though. I recently came back from a week in Riga, Latvia. No brits there at all and the women loved me. Women that were stunning in fact. Shame this doesn't happen in England. I'll have to disagree with you, For a start I did have a light on, in fact I had 6 lights on if you count my sidelights rear lights and rear number plate lights. i've done this for 7 years and even managed to stop when a black cat ran in front of me, in the dark. And I don't appreciate being called stupid, because that's one thing i'm not. If what I was doing is so stupid, surely it would be illegal. To be honest with you, I don't care what you think and will carry on regardless. I am a very safe and sensible driver. And I have good reactions and good brakes, in case any unsupervised kids are out wearing black, late at night and not looking before they cross over. (which if they are they are probably out nicking your Gold Lexus Badges anyway and deserve to be run over!) Bison :zee:

Just been pulled by the Fuzzy Muff, Pulled up at Crossroads, traffice lights were green, so I continued over, coming from my left, sat at the red lights was the 5-0. It was dark and I only had my side/running lights on. (As I think it looks cool) :P As I have an LS400 my side lights look like my indicators, (even though my indicators are below my sidelights.) and the fact that I have amber bulbs in them make them stand out. Basically I have gone for the American look Amber runners. So went past with just my Amber Runners on, and funnily enough they followed me. So I was waiting...... And waiting ....... and finally on come the blues. Pulled over, Sat there all Gangsta looking and the officer came up to me and as I'm only 23 I knew what he was gonna say! "This your car sir!" lol. Yes I said, as his partner checked out my Amber runners. Whats going on with your indicators then he said? "are they stuck on" No i said and explained that they were my side lights, I even put my hazards on to show him my indicators were below. He said he had l lexus as well and his didn't do that, but his was a IS200 so explained they are a little different, he loved my car but said well I pulled cos I thought they were stuck on or you were F**king P*ssed. (Didn't know they were allowed to swear lol) but he was having a laugh etc. Anyway he let me go, but before he did, he added well, "This is the first time I have been baffled in all my years as a traffic cop" I'm not sure if Amber Side Lights are legal or not? So he let me go on with my business. Well are they legal or not??? I reckon it makes the car look lush though! I like the American Look! Bison :zee:

Hello, that dreaded day has come where my Power Steering pump has started to whine on my 93 LS400. Plus they would only give me 5% off as a Gold Member. Well phoned up Lexus Swindon, They quoted like £400 + VAT for the Pump, £174 + VAT for the Pulley and + £87 for the belt?? Are they taking the **** or what? I thought I would be looking at about £200 for the lot. Also I think I have a very slight blowing from the front of the exhaust somewhere, haven't had it up on the ramps as yet, but I can only notice the blow whe I turn the ignition off. (Gives a quick blow before it shuts off completly). Obviously Kwik Fit and the Like are gonna be Useless, I was thinking of a full S/S system from Longlife who Did my T5. But do I leave it quiet or give it a bit of a V8 Roar?? hmmm If i was to choose standard kit, does anyone know where to get exhausties cheap?? I'm hoping it's not one of the manifolds. But if it is would like some nice chrome ones if you know where I could get em?? Let us Know Peeps!! Bison :zee:
