  1. Sorry Steven, surely you must be able to see something amiss around the sunroof seal ?
  2. Don't really agree with that one Rayaan ... If they don't trust their dealerships then that's their problem to sort out within thier own network, they shouldn't be asking customers to mess about taking photo's etc ... if the dealers were doing thier jobs properly they should be doing all this for you ... afterall it's not a cheap warranty ... bad synergy & poor customer service if you ask me.
  3. Mine has been into Lexus Manchester a couple of times, I had a siezed rear caliper changed & they changed both sets of rear pads at cost (£45) bill was £395 though ... lol ... the annoying thing was they wouldn't give me a courtesy car, I took it in again a few weeks ago for the timing belt, an essentials service & had 2 tyres changed for £665 and again struggled to get a courtesy car off them, they did give me a Ct 200 after a few awkward silences though & I got a present when I got home!... I found a 10" screwdriver jammed next to my front brake shield (rattled all the way home) oh & I had to relearn all my windows, seats sunroof etc etc ... I got a hybrid health check done foc while it was there ... There was an offer leaflet in my folder for 24 mth warranty for the price of 12 mth, £995 for the Rx (car has to be under 10 yrs & 140k though) if it's any good to anyone ... It's probably the only warranty I would have if I were to partake ... Didn't think much of the Ct 200h either ...
  4. I did this and like Andy said it seemed to be the leather on leather
  5. Exactly what I do, good to know it's not just my car :) Same here ... I also have to lock the rear parcel shelf
  6. are the dog guards different ? .... I thought they were the same, they look the same shape.
  7. Have you verified anything prior to it leaving the Uk ? I personally wouldn't buy it unless I was cast-iron sure about this car with it being an import, these cars look good even with starship mileage so It would have to be mint, have a lot of paperwork with all the dates etc matching up and be the right price ... you havent given any price details so it's hard to judge, One thing is when you test drive it, check the condition of the rear brakes as these can be problematic, (make sure the back wheels are cold after a run) ... I'm sure others will have more tips to add ...
  8. Sorry Colin, subsequent posts are now deleted, but I did read all associated posts (before they were deleted) before commenting ... seemed very fishy ...
  9. A bit more info m8 ... > https://www.hpicheck.com/glossary.html#_Exports "If a vehicle is exported out of the UK and then is subsequently imported back in, the record of the export is removed from the vehicle's history by the DVLA. Therefore the HPI Check is unable to provide information on a vehicle's previous export status, once it becomes a UK registered vehicle again. HPI is also unable to provide any information about the vehicles history whilst it was registered and used abroad."
  10. Only pulling your leg m8 ... couldn't resist it, life would be pointless without a little humour don't you think ...;-)
  11. My shogun had 265/70/15 bridgestone Duelers (factory) & it was extremely quiet so I found the tyre noise on the Rx 400 really disturbing... I thought it was because the shogun was higher off the ground but after changing tyres to the same size Nexen's I have now found its the potenza's rather than vehicle height or tyre size etc ...
  12. You found a link on google for Rx 300 wheels on a Lexus Uk site & decided to join in order to update a 5 year old post to add a link to SPANISH alloy wheel site ... pmsl ... but you own a Gs ? I would love to come round for a coffee just pm me your address .... oh wait a minute your location is Other/NonUK .... can't say I know that area of Manchester
  13. I don't think it does ... I'm not saying this is the case but I'm pretty sure when taking a car out of the country & bringing it back you can "loose" a few things, mileage being one & insurance right off being another ... access to all the previous m.o.t's would be a better way to find any mileage anomalies ...
  14. I'm not sure where I heard it CJ (I think it was someone from Lexus) but I was told when I bought mine that if a hybrid invertor failed Lexus would stand on for the invertor minus the labour cost .... and with the recalls that the 400 has had I would be asking for some money & chasing it to the top of the chain if needs be ... especially given your low mileage ...remember if you don't ask you don't get ... ;-) ... glad your up and running again m8 ...
  15. In your very first post on this forum ... you found a post from over 5 years ago & added an advetising link ? seems pretty obvious to me ... Spam; noun: 1. irrelevant or unsolicited messages sent over the Internet, typically to large numbers of users, for the purposes of advertising, phishing, spreading malware, etc.
  16. Thanks Colin, I think a lot of people dont realise how close the specs are on the 400h models & like you say there have really only ever been minor changes.... (I mainly attribute this to car dealers applying the term "Top of the range" to anything that has a wooden gear knob ... lol}
  17. I must admit I do like the badges on the series II 08 plate on... particularly the rear door badges, I think if they had backlit the front & rear blue Lexus badges aswell it would have looked so much better.... the wood trim options were a bit of a step backwards I thought though.
  18. Don't do that. The system isn't able to recharge the batteries in neutral. Park or drive are the only two positions the gear lever should be left in for any period of time. Cheers Colin sound advice buddy, I had just got the car & didn't know this at the time
  19. Did the 400h get a facelift in 2007 ? ... I must have missed that ... I thought it got 4 new badges ... lol
  20. Thanks Steve, I'm too tight to run the aircon m8 ... lol... I only put it on for a few minutes now & again to check everything is working as it should be... (I really prefer the sunroof).
  21. Thanks Colin ... the only other time I have seen bars that low on the energy monitor.was when I had the car sat in neutral for quite some time (the point that the engine fires up for no apparent reason at above average revs for a noticably long time) ... the wife may have had shopping bags in front of those vents, I'll keep my eyes open next time...
  22. Check your wheels to see if they are hot, the rears should be pretty much stone cold, if your caliper is stuck it can be very hot ... so watch you dont burn your fingers ...
