  1. Looking at all of the posts complaining about the Audio/Nav systems will by basic Nokia C1-01 (£30.00 from Tesco!!) blue-tooth okay to my new 300h Premier? just need basic hands free telephone calls which have worked 100% for the last 3 years in my 2011 IS250.
  2. I had the same issues, Lexus just seem to be squeezing the spec and I ended up paying for the Premier to get the equipment I desired, I nearly went for a pre-reg GS 450 which had everything fitted and was only a few thousand more the the IS Premier, I was only put off by the GS being an F sport and I did not like the black head lining!!
  3. Have just part exchanged my 2011 250 Advance for a new 300h Premier, having started the thread "Executive edition equipment" I finally decided the Premier equipment levels were what I needed and managed to get a cracking deal on a Premier the local dealer had just received. The deal forced me to accept silver rather than my prefered mercury grey however at least I could see the car I was buying and had my desired light grey interior, collect on Thursday. So have moved forums and look forward to corresponding with you all and the continued good natured, informed and friendly banter that sets Lexus apart from the German manufacturers.
  4. Yes it is a private purchase and you are spot on about a slightly used Premier as I have just started looking in that direction, I have also stared looking at the GS which seems to have all the equipment I need.......
  5. Just noticed that auto lights and wipers are not listed either or have i go that wrong?
  6. Thank you for all the replies, I think I could manage without the premium navigation functions and the electric seats but would really miss the reversing camera, I find it very useful in terms of safety and confidence when reversing. If the navigation screen is fitted as standard then the camera must cost about £10 to add, seems very un-Lexus like to scrimp in this way.
  7. Hi, I have been considering changing my IS250 Advance for the 300h Executive Edition however after wading through the Lexus web site it seems the Executive does not have a reversing camera or electric seats which seems a backward step from my existing Advance. It also has “Navigation” rather than “Premium Navigation” – what’s the difference apart from the reversing camera (desired) and connected services (not sure if I need these!!)? Also very frustrating that a sunroof is only available with Premier models although Premier does then offer the camera, electric seats and Premium Navigation the price increase is huge.
  8. Hi All, My 2011 250 Advance has just hit its first MOT and an advisory for the front tyres . E tyres stock the required 225/45/R17 Dunlop Sport Maxx as currently fitted from new but don't stock the 245/45/R17 version for the rear, whilst the rears have a few thousand miles left I'm likely to end up with odd tyres if I go for the new Dunlop Sport Maxx on the front. Any recommendations for which tyre brand suits the IS250 best?
  9. Thank you all for the replies, having been used to the V6 I guess I am reluctant to change back to a 4 cylinder in case I'm disappointed, I did try the 300h at a launch event and was completely put off by the F sport I drove that had the synthesised engine noise played through the speakers that the Lexus guy refused to turn off!! I will take your advice and try another test drive. Interesting comment on the name of the forum (300h) I wondered why the 250 seemed to be excluded, again a sign that perhaps it has a short life.
  10. I have been thinking or replacing my 3 year old IS250 Advance for a new shape IS250 (not the 300h) as the smooth V6 & conventional auto box are huge attractions to me. It’s a private purchase and I don’t do many miles therefore the fuel consumption, RFL & BIK and not important however it’s evident that this is not a popular choice which I’m sure will be dropped from the range and replaced with the 2.0T, not good for retained values. I looked at a pre-registered one last October and it’s still on the forecourt!! Is the general advice to steer clear of this model unless I can bag a really good deal?
  11. I asked Lexus Milton Keynes to enable this function on my 2011 250 Advance and they stated it couldn’t be done however they did enable the function to allow all 4 windows to be lowered by holding down the unlock button on the remote as you approach the car. Agreed it does seem strange using the remote rather than keyless but on the (occasional) hot days it's a great function to let air in the car before you get in.
  12. By IS250 has just hit 3 years and it's first MOT, Local dealer is offering year 4, 5 and 6 service plan which includes MOT costs for £1120 or 32 payments of £35, sounds expensive at first sight but equates to £373 per year which for main dealer servicing is not so bad? any thoughts?
  13. Thanks Stu, I paid for it when new (so it would release some cash) with the aim of keeping it for 6+ years however various changes in circumstances meant it became a “weekend car” which I enjoy as I can keep it immaculate which is very satisfying. Just not sure how much of a liability it will become and how much money I will lose in depreciation over the next 3 years. Was originally tempted to sell and by a new MX5 (great fun weekend car) but the understated class and refinement of the IS250 V6 seems too hard to give up.
  14. A bit of a dilemma, I have a 2011 IS250 Advance (cadoxton, light grey leather, satnav etc) that is 3 years old in January and only 14000 miles!! I love the car but don’t really use it much. Should I sell, can you sell these vehicles readily? Or has it lost so much money I may as well keep it and enjoy the occasional use? Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated.
  15. The "Advance" which arrived in Jan 2011 (now 2 years old) are based on the SE with loads of extra kit, satnav, reversing camera, full leather heated and fully electrically adjustable seats (no memory function), cruise, auto lights and auto wipers, 6CD changer, bluetooth, USB, they also had subtle restyling to the fog lights, rear lights and tail pipes. I have one from new and really pleased with it, about 30mpg in every day driving & 40+ on a run and the 2.5 V6 auto is a fantastic combo.
  16. Hi, New member just joined today so apologies if I'm stating what everybody already knows!! When I purchased my IS250 in January 2011 the sales guy stated that the 200D sat higher due to the Diesel fuel pump being in the way......
