Not working tomorrow so I will strip the boot out and have a good play with it, fingers crossed.

I got the main dealer to do my belt and water pump.they were very reasonable, but I got my chosen mechanic to do the service, all he said was that the plugs were expensive as they were a certain type, personaly I would get it all done just for peace of mind, this way if anything else is wrong it will be spotted and can be addressed accordingly.

I've sent an enquiry on a yard breaking one up, was in a front crash,as I'm going to replace the lock and both mechanisms as I'm sure mine have been stretched by the paint guy, if lexus guy's can't work it out it has to be replaced, I think it's the only option.

Can do some photos on Saturday, but everything looks fine apart from the lock itself has a lose wiggle, but the bolts are tight, lexus want to change it for a new one, 1k with fitting.

Hi there whole boot from front to back left to right, I think the guy whole sorted the paint work locked the keys in the boot and has forced it up to get them. So the lock has a small wiggle and I think the arm mechanisms have been forced up out of shape, I'm having issues opening the boot sometimes as a result.

Be careful, my car was perfect apart from a couple of marks on the body, I've hade it done and now I have different marks, back seats broken, boot seals damaged and boot is sitting 8mm high, they have killed my car even lexus can't fix the boot. A new catch is 750 +vat, he must of locked keys in boot and forced it up to retrieve them. But he does have a broken hand now I shut it in another car door,

You can buy these sheets of letters and numbers from hobby shops, you just rub them onto the surface, it's easy cheap and quick, as for the backlight it would take a steady hand to put a decal letter on and then remove it with the paint underneath, tricky.

Look on the big auction site, there's a couple being broken up, you could try and get a replacement, respraying would work but then you would need to get new decals from somewhere, I would definitely try to get a new one.at least it would be right. I wish you luck with your choice.

Lexus main dealer leeds quoted £105 to sort the boot, and will do the airbag recall at the same time, I keep getting amazed at there prices, it seems the older the car the cheaper they get, WHY?

Hi yes I found the answer for the seats on here, full movement in all directions and it resets itself so I tried the same on the stering wheel and guess what it worked so there both sorted now but the boot is being a pain to sort,I've ordered all new rubber seals £310 from lexus and I've found two bolts on the boot mechanism which I adjusted up and it's much better now so I get the seats tomorrow and we should be as good as new.this car owes me 9k but it's worth about 8k but I don't care, I've had landcruisers, q7 etc from new but my sc is my favourite car I've ever owned and I won't part with her,

Hi everyone Just had bodywork buffed up by a so called expert. But now the memory seats don't work on both sides, the stering wheel doesn't automatically move when powering up or down and the boot seems to be sitting high, does anyone know how to fix these. Please, john

Its got to be receiver in my opinion,it will be a specialist job probably.

Can you hear a noise when trying to work the window,if so then there is a problem with the workings and that means door card off,if no noise then its probably electricial.

No on my selector on the display and on my gear stick there is no number five ,just L234,so I'm now confused .

Hi I've done what you hav suggested and I'm on 19mpg but mine's a mark1. ,but on my display it says 2 3 4 for the gears so does that mean that my 4 is actually my 5 th gear.

So do you believe that sport mode is more economic ,because I'm going to give it a try. Common sense says it shouldnt but it will be interesting to find out. Also my comment on the pig farm was because yoummentioned before about your visit.

You will never get 25mpg in Leeds ,and the insurance is high as Leeds is full of scumy people stealing and robbing ,plus the average speed in Leeds is 16 mph according to my screen readout so always in urban mode .but your in malton with low crime and big nice roads .although you do have nice pig farms.

Hi alphacat. I have done some research and the gt does around 15mpg average and the sc 18mpg so nothing to different there .insurance for my sc is 720 with 6 points in Leeds and the gt is only 750 so again nothing to worry about .tax is basically the same ,that just leaves the services but at one a year I can live with that.
