after test driving the car i hated it, it had far less tech than my f Sport Is300h

and is far noiser i.e. road and wind , i had the cc on whilst on the motorway

and realised i was gaining on the lorry in front as the rc didnt have radar fitted ,

i was very underwhelmed with it, the only feature i liked is the body style that

i think is stunning.

 i think there maybe similarities between both models

i wouldnt agree the IS300h is an unreliable car

i think its the owner having little knowledge of

what needs to be done, did you ever disable the

keyless entry for the car when it wasnt being used,

its similar to saying that audi and bmw's are dangerous cars

and they are not, again its the owner having no knowledge

of what the indicators and mirrors & speed limits are for.

how did the car let you down 5 times

by any chance was it a bettery issue on each occasion

just because its modified doesnt make it worth anymore & whats with all the extra clocks in the car,

for the price of it i would expect the interior to be perfect and for the bonnet to be fitting better than it is.

on the tyre sidewall there is a label of TREADWEAR and then a number after,

the higher this number is the more hard wearing the tyre is

my tyres are labeled treadwear 280 if you find a tyre with treadwear 320

the 320 tyre will be harder wearing longer lasting so keep this figure in mind .

go to euro car parts and check the part numbers for both vehicles

do you have the basic audio system if you do i think the amp is integrated into the head unit

have you tried looking in the rear quarters of the car under the boot floor

i know the GS's amp is located under the boot floor in the drivers side rear quarter

i stopped mine from rattling tonight it took me 5 minutes

here are some images after picture 4 i replaced the original bolt.

the spacer is just big enough to press the

outside of the insert down this is enough to grip

the heat shield and stop it rattling.

Mark Levinson Sound System Upgrade. My SE/L Has a 13 Speaker Mark Levinson sound system and it sounds great but I keep seeing the IS300H only has 6 speakers. (More confusion) is this so, or is the Levinson upgrade better speakered out?

 

i think it depends on what you want

more comforts you want in the car go for the Premier

for more of a sporty feel go for the F Sport

if the IS you are looking at has the premium nav then you will have

an upgraded audio a separate amp and 8 speakers and to be honest it sounds great,

you know if the car has the premium nav as the controller has a rectangular

mouse style of controller over a dial version that has the 6 speaker setup.

i'm sure in the past i have had an advisory for cracks in the tread area of a tyre

the date code is normally a 4 digit number something like 5014 or 2814

this means the tyre had been made in the 50th week of 2014

                                                   or

                                                                          28th week of 2014

you get the gist of things

as far as i am aware kwikfit can't / wont service a hybrid vehicle

also make sure they will be using 0 - 20w oil for your car

i know its silver you can always get it painted

if you have had the car longer than the 6 months john has mentioned have a look

under the carpet by the transmission tunnel there will be a drain tube there

it goes throught the floor to drain ( well it should drain outside )

once you have found the pipe put some towels down and disconnect the tube,

blow down the tube to make sure the drain is clear

i have used a syringe and warm water squirted water back up the drain tube

into the ac system to dislodge any blockages once running clear reconnect the drain tube
