  1. since starting this post i looked at buying an Rc300h with the levinson system installed

the dealer left a cd in the head unit and to be honest i wasnt blown away with it

i thought it would of sounded soo much better than it did, i'm presuming the cd

was left in the car intentionally to demonstrate the sound system.

Seems wrong that cars of that age have to pay the same price for servicing as new ones. Scrapping the Essential Care service is going to lose alot of custom.

should the same be said when you need new tyres on your car

so the older car should have a lower price for a premium tyre

over a new car that has an unrepairable tyre ???

if this applies then all replacment car parts should be priced

on a pro rata basis to age of vehicle

  3. as long as the car is driven to maintain the charge in the Battery its not an issue

i am 99% certain that the smart entry system can be turned off this will stop the car

wasting energy searching for the key.

if you ever have to jump start the car you dont need to disconnect the Battery

you can either hook up to the starting tab in the fusebox under the bonnet

please see image from a toyota hybrid showing where the tab is located

or go to the Battery in the boot, under the lip on the boot lid on the left hand side

you will see a keyhole so you can gain access to the Battery just hook up your charged

12v Battery to the flat Battery just like you would do normally

  4. when you use accessories i.e the compressor or listening to the radio whilst on your lunch break

make sure you turn on the hybrid system otherwise you will get a flat Battery,

as long as the hybrid system is turned on you'll never flatten your Battery again

as the car will start when needed to re charge the Battery

also when the car is running never leave the car in the N position for too long

as this can also flatten the Battery as the Battery will only charge when in P or D.

i am assuming this is your 1st hybrid lexus so you will need to do things slightly different to a

std petrol or diesel vehicle .

My 18 year old Merc shows ETA but my 11 year old GS does not.

Some do, some don`t, some will and some wont John.

good evening royoftherovers John, i thought you may of congratulated ledgendliving John for

taking the time to read his car manual before asking a question on the forum.

well i'll say it ....John well done for reading the manual.

  6. i'd have hybrid every time,i have a GS300h and last year a mercedes driver only stopped

coming off the motorway when he hit the side of my car , my courtesy car for 9 weeks was an

Audi A5 S-line 2ltr diesel 40 what a horrible car, it sounded like a tractor whilst driving

it returned less mpg from the 2ltr diesel over my 2.5ltr hybrid petrol my hybrid was more

refined to drive so smooth with it being the E-cvt transmission over the Audi auto box

and better pick up.the only thing i liked about the audi was returning the key to enterprise.

  7. take it back to check the person that carried out the alignment done it properly to start with

if the steering wheel has ever been removed before you bought it,

it may of been put back on in the wrong place and then tracked,

the hawk eye tells the operator where the centre position for the

steering is and at this point the alignment takes place,so it may

be the case of remove the steering wheel and re centre it.

  8. when  you look at metalised tints when nyou move your head you'll see colours appearing

you can get just plain black tints they are measured in %

remember a 5% tint is darker than a 15% tint as the % refers to how much light can pass through

    the tint film.

on a previous car i had a 5% tint and at night i found it difficult to see out so beware once its

fitted its not coming off so make sure you make the right choice when you buy.

Do you still miss the Audi they lent you? :-)

NO, i hated the whole 9 weeks i had the bloody thing, it was circa 6 months old

so not an old battered well used car, the Audi A5 S line 40 was the most horrible

car i have driven in a long time i wouldn't even recommend one to someone i didnt like,

it sounded agricultural having a 2ltr diesel engine , the kit the car had was pretty poor

the only part of the Audi i liked was leaving it behind and getting the keys back to the GS

Still, given the number of nutters there seems to be on the road who don't understand how junctions or traffic lights work

i have to agree with you about the nutters

october 2020 i had a mercedes van exit from a motorway slip road onto a roundabout in awful

weather conditions without slowing down until he hit the side of my GS, i'd only had the car 3 weeks

  11. its possibly the way the seat has been adjusted if you like to sit

bolt upright then yes you may have an issue, if you like to have the

back of the seat reclined then you wont have an issue, my

preference is to have the seat reclined a little.

in the last 7.5 yrs of lexus ownership ive had

    1 ct200h , 2 Is300h and now have a Gs300h and never had this issue
