  1. Finally got my first mod done today (at bloody last)...fitted the illuminated scuff plates....which will be soon followed by a s/c...yum yum! Does everyone elses scuffs sit a couple of mm's proud of the bodywork and if so has anyone fitted the gap with anything? Also the guy fiting them said the passenger side one has very crap connectors on the invertor so he pushed them in as far as poss then just tightly wrapped them in tape...maybe an idea for anyone who has them and they don't work???
  2. Thanks fluff! So the only real advantage of having the induction kit fitted to the s/c is the gggggrrrrrrrrowl it gives from the engine?
  3. Sorry Guys....I was after info on the induction kit???
  4. Is the induction kit really that loud??? Does it add much in terms of performance? Any ideas how much it costs for one? Ta mate!
  5. Thanks guys! That's why I love LOC you never fail to get help or advice when needed B)
  6. Sorry I know this has been brought up time and time again, but at home using dial up so it'll cost me a furtune searching through old posts..... Just a quick yes or no question: would these wheels fit on my IS200 (it hasn't been lower as of yet but probably will in the future)? Wheels 19x8.5, 114.3x5, offset 35 - Tyres 235/40/19 Mucho gracias amigos!!!
  7. Bought a set of Illuminated Scuff plates (TTE I think?) from ebay the other day. Paid 130 squid for them - not exactly sure if that's reasonable or not but just had to have them :P . Anyways just broke the bank to get a s/c today so wondering if they're any good and worth keeping? If not I'll flog them on ebay! Any opinions???
  8. I had exactly the same thing mate. When my car went in for a service they said the rear shock was leaking. This was fixed last week and hey presto not heard a single creak so far! Not sure if's coincidence but there ya go anyways Hope this helps.
  9. Sorry Fargo and Brettster just read your posts...might have to reconsider ^_^ I've not seen the SatNav screens operate. Do they pop up when ignition is started and back when ignition off? Also how difficult would it be to remove then insert this part of the dash?
  10. Thanks! Was close to making an impulse buy Out of interest....why's that?
  11. Seen this on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...5742186391&rd=1 I'm pretty sure that you couldn't make it backwards compatible for Sat Nav if you don't already have it, but would it be viable to connect this to a DVD player so you'd have a motorised DVD player/screen combo? Also do you think it would be cost effective? Thanks in advance guys!
  12. Thanks for the advice. I've no idea when they were changed last :o as the the previous owners used it as a fleet car (all services doen by Lexus) but I know that one of the discs is about 70% worn. As I've got an MOT due I thought might as well get them done now rather than later. Is that a good price by Lexus or are the ones suggested above just as good?
  13. Yeah there's a couple of bits that interest me too What type of bodykit is it???
  14. The guy at Lexus thought that the way my pad/disc was worn could be caused by a caliper problem. However, when I took it back a week later to fit a new stereo they didn't menion this as a possible problem on a new safety report.
  15. Hi folks and happy new year to all you guys and gals. After getting my car serviced by Lexus they came back with a safety report of any problems that should be addressed over the next year of so. This was quite sizeable and broken down to roughly the following: New brakes pads and disks - 360ish & possible new front calipers - ??? 4 new tyres (dunlops) - 127 per corner New cambelt and tensioner - 280ish Plus other little bits and bobs - 300ish Would you say that this is too expensive? If so is there any place up north (around Liverpool way) that anyone could recommend to do a good job at a reasonable price - I'm sure i thought I'd seen another post with a company in Warrington??? I might just get a new set of wheels with tyres 18's/19's which would solve one of the problems. would I be as well joining Gold to get a bit of a saving? Especially as I would be looking at a body kit and maybe a supercharger in the near future (dependant on price). Apologies if it's a bit of a rant..
  16. Nice bit of advice.....I'll get onto that now! I'm all in favour of keeping the readies in my pocket rather than the dealers :D
  17. Whoooo thanx...That was one speedy reply. The car is out of warranty so that's not a problem, but with the milage my car's done :o I wanna make sure I put in the best stuff that I can afford.
  18. Just a quick one for some knowlegable person out there....is there a specific type of oil that dealerships use for servicing IS200's? If so would you recommend sticking to this or is there any about that's better??? No prizes for the first answer...just total respect B) Ta! :D
  19. Thanks Colin! Would I need to take the new log book to the dealship where the stamps were originally made or could I just take it my nearest one?
  20. After coming back from holiday I've just managed to scrape enough dosh together to finally get the IS serviced :) but now I can't find the bloody log book. What's the score with this in terms of marking the service and also selling it in the future. I know that it's got a full lexus service history but how can i prove it. Also would it be possible to get a print out/new log book from any lexus dealership with all the services stamped??? Starting to panic a bit now........!
  21. Thanks guys, that's most helpful. Sorry to keep this going but one last question...how do you tell if there's a problem with the coils???
  22. The missis is after trading in her Pug 206 GTI for a 2001 Audi S3. Can anyone recommend these? Or has anyone drove one? Any comments good/bad wuld be appreciated!! Ta,
  23. Cheers guys, Just thought it might have made a difference cos every previous service has been carried out by Lexus. Claire where abouts is ProLex-UK? Can you recommend them? Any idea how much I'll be looking at from them? Thanx again!
  24. Hi Guys, need some advice from those in the know: My IS200 is overdue it's 120000 miles service i'm gonna ring around now for some quotes from dealerships in NWest. If these quotes are past my budget is it worth getting it done by an independent garage? Or possibly gettin it done by a Toyota dealership? Any idea how it would affect sell on value short term/long term? Thanx!!!
  25. Could be worse, I bought a bulldog thinking he's the lazy mans dog, bit of exercise every day, slumped in front of the goggle box watching a bit of footy with me.....but for some reason he thinks he's a champion greyhound :) everytime I let me off the lead whooosh! Anyways, I'd have thought the Kennel club would be your best bet
