  1. Didn't think of that at the time but it's over a year ago now so probably a little too long....should have posted this problem when I bought the car
  2. This was the only key I got given with the car It was previously used as a fleet car and the garage I bought it from said it's probably worth contacting the previous owners (company) and asking them to send the key to you. But I thought If I give them my address and they've got a spare key it might not be the best idea
  3. Thanks! I asked about just the casing and they said they can't do it...only the full key. Cheers for the ebay link...always forget about ebay america and only check the UK one :( Another question then for you tech head out there :D My key doesn't have the remote boot operation...but would putting the transponder in from my original key into one that does have the boot operation fit OK? Also would this allow me to open the boot remotely or would this need a different transponder? Ta, Miles
  4.:blink: Balls!!! I need a new key casing as its slightly broke (making it difficult to turn in the barrel) and was waiting for a price from Lexus Liverpool who could onlyt supply the full key. Is that price just for the key or the labour of codeing it as well?
  5. Cheers Matt!!! I'll disconnect the sills and see what happens. As it's not ticking over one minute and then fine the next is it likely to be the fuse?
  6. Anyone had anything similar? Problems with illuminated sills? Or just a knackered battery? .........Anyone? ........Getting a bit worried here!! :o
  7. Hi guys, Over the last couple of weeks te engine has sounded as if it's struggling to tick over but still managers to do so. Anyway after a 1 and a half round trip to Lexus Chester yesterday (to see Mr Mcnally - top bloke!) turned the engine off and immediately tried to start it again and it was having none of it but all the electrics worked fine. Jump started it, moved it 5 yards onto the drive, turned it off, attemped to start and it was fine. The only other factor is that my illuminated scuffs have been making hell of a din...like an angry wasp trapped in a glass . Do you reckon, it's the battery, scuffs shorting, or something else (hopefully not linked to the charger!) Thanks, Miles
  8. Happy b'day mate...sure you'll have a nice clean car to celebrate B)
  9. Cheers for the advice guys. I can't really afford £50 per wheel which would be nearly the price I paid for the wheels in the first place. The wheels are only slightly scuffed which is why I thought I'd do a DIY jobby. Anyways my mate found a body shop that had about a thousand (might be a slight exageration ) shades of silver and got quite a good match on his wheel so I thought I'd give it a try. If anyone knows somewhere in the Liverpool area that can do it on the cheap please give me a holla :D
  10. Not got tyres on yet mate, but nice one anyway.....it's usually the obvious stuff that I tend to forget about. Doh!
  11. Got some 18" wheels turn up yesterday but they've got tiny curbing scrapes all around the bottom of the rim. Anyways as this isn't too bad I thought I'd have a go at doing this myself......surely it can't be too hard??? :D Anyway, i've been told to wet/dry paper the scratches to rub down any prutruding bits of metal, t-cut area until smooth, get a paint match from a body shop, paint then a couple of coats of laceur and bob's yer uncle! Does this sound about right? Anyone got any other tips that might help in the process? Cheers folks, hopefully get some piccies up when finished.
  12. The Dual exhausts look the business but the Quads look even better!!! B)
  13. Thanks for the info Gord!! You'll have pm in about 2 mins :D
  14. Gord, would any idea if these ill fit on the styling wheels mate?
  15. Mines a 2000 (V) with a meager 126726 on the clock It's stll being broken in!!!
  16. V nice mate...They're that shiney i bet you can see your big smile in them :D :D :D
  17. Just a price comparison my friend... :D and I love pies :P
  18. 50 quid at a cheap rate I only pay 24 quid off peak :P weights, swimmin pool, sauna, blah, blah, blah. Up north though!
  19. Cheers guys that was really helpful! Do most members go for 225/40/18 because it gives a slightly larger diameter and fills the arches a little bit more?
  20. I've just bought some new 18" wheels as my standards are kn :tsktsk: ckered! Anyway I need some tires for them. Would 225/35/18 be OK or would that give too much difference on my speedo, etc? They are these ones by the way..http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tyresave.co.uk/alloypix/big/t12.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tyresave.co.uk/alloymil.html&h=371&w=384&sz=24&tbnid=3CO0brtledYJ:&tbnh=114&tbnw=118&start=1&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmille%2Bmiglia%2Bt12%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff ....something different than the normal 5 spokes, and I like them which is all that matters. :P
  21. Even the thought of washing my car would bring rain clouds overhead!!! B)
  22. imi - any idea what this "double sided flexy thing" looks like? Is it a tape, gel, etc? I'll have a look in DIY stores at the weekend. Gord - Car is black mate. If there's anything there that can help that'd be spot on mate. Just give us a shout if you have anything. Thanks very much guys!!!
  23. Cheers Gord, think it was a pure fluke really! Have you any idea how these are stuck to the bumper...sillicon, fixings, double sided tape? Also how much would I be looking at to get it sprayed (if needed )?
  24. Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for :D Either way I might have to consider getting it sprayed if it's in poor nick!
  25. I'm hoping it's my colour, from the picture quality it could be any of three!
