  1. I upgraded my 2013 3is F-Sport unit last week, did all the the work myself in a couple hours or so taking my sweet time over a weekend. This was way easier than it looked, especially once you know how to feed the harness through the tiny gap behind the screen lol. Absolutely worth every penny, 10.25 inch widescreen with Android 13 wireless android auto | Apple carplay, playstore apps etc.
  2. I just received one of these units from AliExpress in October 2023, Version Android 13, 8GB ram, 64GB rom, with wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple carplay for £354 (My phone is an S22 Ultra) All works great once installed, Ny 2013 3IS V6 F-Sport actually needs some very slight trimming of the plastic mounts behind the screen as the new widescreen unit is around 2mm or so wider at the back than my stock unit. Still testing everything out and will update once all completed.
  3. On my 3rd IS220D never had an issue with white smoke, but my 2nd IS220d did suffer blue smoke intermittently from 147K all the way to 188K before I eventually sold it. No one was ever able to sort it out, so I just lived with it. Guess the valve stems were just worn out due to the high mileage and age of the car 2007 model.
  4. So long since I've posted here but, finally had my first MOT since owning this IS220D and installing the Vland fronts|rear leds, due to the Covid-19 extension on mot renewal dates. National Tyres test centre passed the car with no issues regarding the Vland current configuration and only had an advisory for one front tyre wearing on outer shoulder. Currently the Vland DRL's are connected to the cars sidelight wiring along with the rears, so the only thing I want to address now is how to turn the rears off independently to the fronts. Maybe a kill switch needs to be connected for the rear lamps.
  5. Sweet gonna get me one of these, never really understood why Lexus didn't just include this function from the get go!
  6. Ok, hope you're able to get the digitizer sorted soon. I didn't realise that the touchscreens on the IS2's were prone to failure, at least the fix doesn't seem too difficult too carry out. My last two IS2's were non nav, so this one is my first with a touchscreen. Any particular model years affected? mine's MY59.
  7. @iSalajee How are you finding the Vlite, any issues or is it all good? I'm still considering getting myself one as I had no luck with their BT3 and USB3 boxes.
  8. No problem at all appreciate the advice. First thing I did was connect to ignition but the DRLs stayed on permanently with no dimming when low beams were on. You're right in thinking that the headlights should be configured the same regardless which model IS2 you have, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
  9. Only one connector included with the Vland units. The image below is the included guide, and shows the fuse that you need to swap out. This is only for ISx50 not IS220D.
  10. @F.A. Yeah, turn stalk to sidelights for DRL, but I don't know how to get them to dim when low beam is on. Still trying to figure this out.
  11. The sidelights are the led ticks at the bottom, the two inner leds are low beam, the outer led is high beam. This images does not show up light output very well as it was close to 30° in bright sunlight the day I took this, but they are extremely bright though the ticks could be abit brighter imo.
  12. @Billnick Yes I have a couple of user manuals for the car. Unfortunately the wiring diagrams are different to what Vland supply with the units unless you have an IS250, so not quite plug and play for the IS220D though not really difficult. I had originally connected via an ignition fuse but you lose sidelight functionality, not good come mot time. Maybe I have missed something but everything functions as normal via the headlight stalk so no big deal. The switchbacks work as they should and the sequential indicators are a very nice touch. Forgot to add a few extra shots. While these lights dont appear overly bright in direct sunlight they are extremely bright when compared to my old oem units. Sorry about the weird angled images.
  13. So a few days I rewired the Vland lamps and got the DRLs to function as sidelights because I didn't want to lose this function by connecting to the FR tails fuse which just happened to be permanent live regardless if , plus this way it will pass an mot. The IS220d fuse box is configured totally different to the x50's so following the Vland fuse box guide may or may not work, it certainly didn't in my case. So just wired it directly to the main headlight harness via the blue & white wire, there's no break in continuity so I can always revert back to the OEM headlights if needed.
  14. @NothernDan Will do, oh well more tinkering for me tomorrow. Here are a few piccys of the install, including new registration mark. Will take some with the lights turned on next time, hopefully once I get the drls working.....
  15. Guys, I finally got around to installing the Vland led headlghts on my car. The install was fairly straightforward except I can't seem to get the DRLs to function. Am I missing something or do I have faulty units as everything is connected and wired up as per instructions. Only exception is that I didn't have a 10amp fuse to swap out as in the picture provided by Vland as the circled fuse slot in my car was already empty. Pictures to follow shortly.
  16. @iSalajee Ok no problem, will do.
  17. @juicestop Oh yes I know this, sorry I obviously didn't explain myself very well in my previous post. I originally bought the BT3 just over a week ago to see if it would support all listed functionality via my car stereo and unfortunately it doesn't seem to, at least after my extensive testing. After contacting Grom support numerous times to discuss these issues, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the Grom USB3 to see if it would resolve the limitations of the BT3, but it doesn't seem to be much better as neither unit seem able to display any sort of track, album or playlist information on my nav unit even after setting up the devices as per grom instructions. Grom have offered to refund both items once they are returned.
  18. @iSalajeeI'm about to return the Grom BT3 and USB3 units I purchased from them a few days ago as they dont seem to integrate into my 2009 Se-i well. Even though the VL2 seems like the big boy here, I'm still thinking of going for the slightly cheaper Vlite model as I don't really need a totally standalone system. A few questions I have for you are... 1. Did you need to connect to a specific chromecast device to mirror your phone's screen? 2. My IS2 Navi is non-ML so no DVD button to press will this be a problem in switching to Vline mode and back? 3. Can you navigate the cars touchscreen without having to touch the phones screen? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Vland headlights currently going anything from £509 upwards, Vland taillights about £239 upwards. Got both of mine slightly cheaper by making offers as posted earlier in the thread.
  20. ^ Yeah nice, seen this one on auto trader a few weeks back when looking for my SE-i.
