  1. To get back to the topic of the original post. I have not driven a 2014 model yet but on paper there does not seem to be a big enough difference to want me to spend more money on upgrading. I'll stick with the 2013 advance. I will wait for my 3 year contract to be up and then see what the 2016 new model looks like.
  2. I too was struck by the size of the NX. It's bigger than I expected, but with the sloping tailgate would you be able to get, for example, a washing machine in the back. Like the CT and RX the boot does not seem to be as practical as an estate car.
  3. A couple of things to check. Have you got random playback selected ? Do you have more than 255 tracks in a folder ? It does not recognise more then 255 tracks so any after that will not play. Is it playing them in order that they were loaded onto the USB stick ?
  4. It's a great new feature. Let's the driver be in complete control of when the lights are on or off. Same applies to the wipers. It's because the Lexus CT driver is more intelligent than the electronics.
  5. Looks like you'll have to open the door or turn them off at the switch. We are all getting very lazy. On my sons mini you have to wind the windows yourself, lock all the doors yourself, put the lights and wipers on yourself, and even change gear yourself. What we did a few years ago on our own without thinking is now frustrating if the technology does not do exactly what we want. It would be a simple software mod but we don't yet have complete customisation of all the cars features.
  6. No snow button on the CT we don't have such exotic technology. But then we don't have road tax either.
  7. You can also use B mode when going down hill to use engine braking.
  8. I didn't notice any problems last winter but living in cheshire we don't get much snow, ice or hills. As with any car make sure your windows are clear (don't scrape the frost off and scratch the windows, warm water is best) and use throttle and brake gently. Eco mode may help. Some people like winter tyres. Not used them myself but they are supposed to be better than having normal tyres and 4 wheel drive. Don't forget the CT is front wheel drive so won't be so tail happy as our rear wheel drive friends. Just respect the conditions and you'll be fine.
  9. Thanks, found it. I have set it one notch lower so we'll see how that works.
  10. The major change was between 63 and 14 plate cars noticeable by the front grill amongst other things so a 2011 or 12 car should be similar. If you don't mind not having the latest model it is probably better value to get the old model. Used values have dropped on late old model cars. The only think to think about is the warranty will be up when the car is 3 years old so try and get an extended warranty thrown in. Battery warranty is longer than three years. Had my 63 plate for a year and no issues so far.
  11. Mine is the 2013 advance so the nav option is a Tom Tom in the dash so no nav option as far as the car is concerned. Looks like it may be a new feature for the latest model. I'll dig the manual out tomorrow and have another look at the settings.
  12. Had a look through the options on the disp today. Could not find anything relevant. Is it a dealer option? Mines the 2013 model year. Thanks

    Mpg

47 mpg is about right for general driving. The best I got in the summer was 67 on the computer. It's about 54 now. It tends to be better for longer journeys but not at speeds above 60 mph. I don't seem to find any difference between Eco or normal mode either except normal mode is more responsive.
  14. Is there a way to change the darkness level at which the auto headlights come on or a time that it has to be dark before they come on? At the moment they seem to come on in the mornings when they don't need to. I have noticed that if the switch is in auto and they come on, if you then put the switch into off then back to auto they do not come on again. Also they tend to come on if you go under a bridge where it is temporarily dark then go off again. This could cause other drivers to think you have flashed your lights at them. I thought it should have a time delay when it has to see it dark for a long time, say 1 minute, before they come on. That way they could tell the difference between a bridge and night.
  15. I agree using warm water seemed to work best last year, as it says in the manual. For condensation the rubber blade is what I use, but on reflection keeping it in the passenger footwell may let small piece of grit collect on the blade and perhaps it is this that is doing the damage. You can also feel the difference between the front windows with the water repellant coating to the rear with the privacy glass.
  16. Just noticed I have another scratch on the rear side window. Probably when removing condensation with the rubber scrapper. What do others use to get rid of condensation from side windows on cold mornings?
  17. The analogue signal is not due to be switched off for a few years yet (2020?). So I would keep a radio that works. Until dab radios are more reliable and can get a decent signal I don't see the point in getting one. By which time we will all be listening to the radio via the Internet anyway.
  18. I wouldn't know if my light works. I always fill up when it gets to 1/4 full it's cheaper :-)
  19. Any company can make mistakes. It's how they sort them out that distinguishes an average company from a great one. I hope Lexus can sort this out for you quickly in a way that you are happy with and is consistent with their reputation of excellent customer service.
  20. There you go then. Take the Mrs to France shopping, get some booze for Christmas, and stop off on the way back in Dover to tune the radio!
  21. I'm currently getting about 57 mpg after 8000 miles. Mostly on a roads or round town. If you have not had a hybrid before it takes a bit of getting used to. My best was 67 mpg on a tank in the summer. It's better in warmer weather battery works better. Mine is the old model.
  22. Just a daft thought. Could you drive to somewhere the dab signal is strong. Eg near the transmitter and retune there?
  23. Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad you love the Lexus. I don't have any experience of dab radio. Don't even have one in the house so sorry can't help you tune it, but looking at similar threads on here it seems as though it is a common problem. Can you pop back to the dealer to see if they can help. When I picked mine up the dealer spent a lot of time with me setting my phone up etc. I am sure they can help. My ct has the normal analogue radio but I don't tend to listen to the radio anyway. Prefer my own music selection. When is the analogue radio signal being switched off? Hope someone else can chip in and help.
  24. Last winter I managed to scratch the privacy glass on the back window whilst scraping frost from the car, even though I use the rubber end of the ice scraper. The scratch is a few inches long and can be seen in the rear view mirror when sunny. As we will soon be in the frost season, I thought I would warn people to take care when clearing frost not to damage the privacy glass. I thought it would have been tinted from inside but apparently not. Check there is no grit on the wiper blades or ice scraper before using.
