many years ago I bought a 1990 Honda Civic mug and got a free car! Very expensive mug though.

It reminds me of when you stay in a big hotel. The first think they want is your credit card details as they don't trust you not to trash your room and run off without paying. You bought a car of a reputable dealer trusting them to supply a car of reasonable quality as would fit their reputation and then they accuse you a trying to con them out of a headrest. It is a shame no one trusts each other these days. I hope with the evidence that you are not trying to pull a fast one. The dealer will realise he has mistakenly sold an unsafe car and will supply a replacement headrest free of charge.

Just a thought and you have probably already checked but have you looked for it under the front seats or in the boot where the spare wheel goes. Has the dealer removed it to take photos and not replaced it. Are there any photos of it there from when the dealer was trying to advertise it. I hope you get a favourable response from lexus customer relations. Otherwise for a few hundred pounds the dealer and brand have lost a good customer. I am sure some of the car magazines would love to print a story knocking Lexus for poor customer care.

A very surprising attitude for a lexus dealer. Have you tried taking it up with Lexus customer relations.

Are missing headrests an MOT failure? In which case the dealer has sold an unroadworthy car and you should be able to reject it.

My work is starting a range of flexible benefits. One of them being a green car scheme. I don't know the details yet but there seem to be other schemes in operation. Basically you take a drop in salary (salary sacrifice) and then use the drop to fund a car lease. This means you don't pay tax on NI on the car costs but it is then treated as a company car so has a benefit in kind tax on the P11D. The lease goes on for two or three years and the car must have a CO2 of less than 120. Is this scheme worth investigating or is it not worth having a "company car" these days? I don't need the car for work purposes. The type of car would be an IS300 exec or premier. (And/ or a jazz for the wife). Any comments on the benefit or otherwise of these schemes would be appreciated. Thanks PS you can't get the IS in green. What if I want a Blue one?

Yes I have noticed this also. In fact I nearly posted a topic on it a few weeks ago but never got round to it. When pulling out of junctions the front wheels slip easily. Think it is due to the instant torque from the electric motor. However I seem to catch it before the traction control does. It may happen less in Eco mode rather than Normal or Sport. Does this tend to lead to heavier tyre wear? I did not have this on my previous non hybrid cars.

If it says in the brochure its leather, surely it must be real leather not nulux fake leather? Otherwise they are describing it wrong and misleading people.

Should be leather then. Use the usual auto gym stuff you already have.

What model and year do you have? I have the 2013 advance with Tahara which is fake leather. I think all the other models have real leather or cloth. The Tahara is supposed to be better for the environment (and cow), but feels like leather.

Apparently no one does! A search of the U.S. Forums seems to indicate it filters the air already inside the cabin. I.e. If it is in re circulation mode if filters the air. Useful in high pollen areas or if you have bad odours in the car. Hope that helps. Paul

Ok I've found them thanks. Not very easy to get at. I think the most important battery to keep topped up is you phone battery

I thought that was the traction battery. Is the normal 12v battery in the boot as well? Although it seems as though this is not powerful enough to jump start another non hybrid car. Thanks for the replies. Paul

I know you are not supposed to jump start a hybrid but can you use a hybrid to jump start another car? Does the CT have a normal 12v battery and where is it? Just wondered as my son had a flat battery in his car so I went to the rescue in the CT with the jump leads and then thought how can I do this? We managed to push start him. But for future reference. Sit in the car and press power twice to get the ignition on Press disp until the settings menu appears. Press disp for a few seconds. The settings menus are now active. Pressing disp once steps through the menu options. Pressing disp for a few seconds selects the highlighted menu item. Keep pressing disp until meter is selected. Then press and hold disp Keep pressing disp until tachometer meter is selected. Then press and hold disp. Keep pressing disp until auto is selected. Then press and hold disp. It should then say please wait. Keep pressing disp until exit is selected. Then press and hold. Again select exit. Etc.. Hope that works Paul
