  1. Thanks for that mate, im not much of a mechanic so what can i do to sort out the above or is it a garage job?
  2. Right yesterday started car in morning, drove it for 15 mins, this is after giving it a 30 mile blast on petrol with stp injector cleaner on the day before! The trc and engine lights come on, with full loss of power, i barely made it onto the pavement. Turned car off , read codes, following codes came up: p0120 p0121 , both linked to throttle body? Can someone tell me the meanings of these codes as this seems to be causing the misfire issues! i removed codes as i was in london and drove it back to birmingham, the misfire is still present when i put it in neutral and park. thanks guys
  3. Yeah buddy, normally they would flash the engine codes. Which injector cleaner you recommend? So i can add it in my fuel and give it a blast on the motorway. I think it could be injector as i always use it on lpg so could be clogging up
  4. Done it thursday mate, wasnt that dirty tbh, the issue is still present although cleaning the tb has calmed it down slightly. One thing for sure is the misfire is present once engine is proper warm so after 30 mins of it being on ?
  5. Got it , will try this tommorow and get back to you thanks alot
  6. Thanks for your reply bro, can i get someone to rev the car so the butterfly valve opens in the TB and i spray in carb clean like wynns or do i need to take off complete TB as i dont think i can do the latter lol
  7. Hi i have a is200 which was professionally converted to lpg in 2010 , its covered 45k miles since lpg installation and right now sits on 115k for a v reg thats not bad :) anyway the car runs like a beauty on petrol and lpg until recently, few weeks ago i noticed while in neutral or in drive gear but stationary the revs would jump from 750 to 1000ish then come down, also around this time the idle speed in D and Neutral was lower then 750 , maybe around 600 making the engine sound like its going to turn off. But now its gotten worse, since the weekend it seems to stall on me on low revs i.e. start and stop traffic once its warmed up. Its turned off at me only when moving slowly and it just dies on me, Ive checked it on petrol and the misfire is there, needle bounces between 500 and 700 revs in neutral and D while stationary , its obviously worse on lpg and thats where it stalls on lpg as any misfire on a car will be alot worse on lpg. once car is moving it doesnt stall or lack power etc. Ive checked the engine code, just one code and its been present for over a year now and its a p0420 which is related to the catalytic converter. Its been there for the whole year but the misfire only started few weeks ago so i dont think its related. any ideas what could be causing this? have iridium spark plugs since last year, had it service 2 months ago and had cambelt and water pump changed last month in march cheers guys
  8. thanks bud, I decided not to mess with em just incase I mess them up lol
  9. where are the o2 sensors located, this really seems like the same problem im having, I get these codes pending and then they disappear and my misfire comes when the cars warm, so sounds very much like yours.
  10. mines sounds exactly the frigging same, going to take my vvti oil filter out tomorrow too, but hell mine sounds like a diesel too, check my thread out for the videos)
  11. hi athos so I undo the big bolt and then how do I clean the filter or take the filter out? some directions would help me a lot as im a noob lol
  12. Hi got brand new 6 plugs for my is200, ngk ifr6t11 , problem is as my cars on lpg my lpg specialist told me to change plugs and re gap them around 0.66ml or say 0.7ml as it makes the gas run smoother , question is how can I adjust these plugs without damaging them :( im a noob like lol
  13. bud how did you clean the vvti oil valve? I think I need to do that on my auto too?
  14. hi Okay ive ordered 6 brand new ngk iridiums for my car, in the meantime upon closer inspection i hear a rattle from the throttle body and also the cat which correspond with the rough idle on gas, ive made 2 videos, first video of engine and throttle body rattling noise and second video is of the cat noise(little windy but you cat hear the cat rattling), im starting to think after ive changed sparkys if it doesnt fix it then it could be the TB or cat playing up? check the videos and tell me what you think lads? both videos with car on LPG engine and throttle body video : http://vid1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff509/mista_khan/IMG_1101.mp4 cat video : http://vid1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff509/mista_khan/IMG_1102.mp4
  15. can someone tell me how to paste links into this thread, the paste icon in the text box doesn't do anything for me?
  16. ive ordered ngk iridiums for the is200 should be here soon, in the mean time, car has turned off on gas once and the misfire is still present yet no more misfire codes have come up on the obd2 after 40 miles of driving, Car still idling rough on petrol and worse on lpg, ive noticed the throttle body make a lot of play once car is warm, a lot of noise which reflects the rough idle , could it be connected?
  17. thanks for that bud, I will change them to standard copper core plugs and re adjust gap to around 0.66ml as he told me to and see how I get on? he says misfire exists on petrol yet im finding it soo hard to spot on petrol? but he has told me if a car has misfire on petrol, it will be much worse on lpg. can you tell me the spark plug type for is200 so I can look for copper core plugs in same plug type thanks
  18. I believe either ngk or denso iridiums and previous owner said they were put in the car in 2012, yet lpg guy says gap should be 0.66ml for log systems on sparkies and copper core work much better. ive changed coil pack on cylinder 2, drove 3 miles both on petrol and lpg, so far no lights have come on or codes, slight misfire on lpg when in neutral and park but that was always there from day one, but just think maybe I should change sparkies too
  19. Hi collected car of the lpg guy today, his fixed the leak and the engine code, but the misfire is still present, his told me lpg system is fine and the misfire is definitely there on petrol too so its the engine related. His told me I should replace spark plugs to standard copper core ones as they work better with lpg cars, can anyone recommend me standard copper core spark plugs or tell me what is the spark plug number for lexus is200 so I can check them up? also ive swapped coil pack 2 which was always coming up on cylinder 2 misfire, hopefully this might help.
  20. guys ive been told by the lpg guy, that I should change my spark plugs from iridiums to standard copper core plugs as they work better on lpg and also to make gap on plug around 0.66ml , can anyone tell me part numbers or plugs which will fit my lexus and are copper core standard ?
  21. okay mate, got two brand new coil packs off ebay, will swap tomorrow to see a difference, if that isn't the cause to the misfire in cylinder 2, can it be spark plugs or the injectors itself?
  22. error Is back on cylinder 2, ive got 2 brand new coil packs at home, so will be changing coil pack on number 2, iridium spark plugs been in the car for 2 years or less so cant be sparks? and also how can I test coil pack to see if its good or bad? whats the standard resistance on the is200 coil packs/
  23. okay cleared codes, swapped coil packs from cylinder 1 to 2 and 2 to 1, keeping the wires the same, just swapped the coil packs that go into the spark plugs, ive driven it around 7 miles on petrol, no lights, no misfire, and the power loss is only minimal, but on lpg I can smell gas in the car which means maybe injector leak, going to drive it on petrol for next few days, if no more lights come on, going to get the lpg system checked after. question is how has the error gone away on cylinder 2 just by swapping coil packs?
  24. so im correct in saying cylinder 2 is the second one from the front of the engine? so its not the one with the oily spark plug then? and am I correct in saying cylinder misfire is due to the cylinder and not the injector?
