  1. I am guessing the reference to calipers are the rears which are prone to seizure. My 2007 had a service history with the dealer network but no assistance from Lexus was forthcoming sadly. EGR valve I removed and cleaned successfully as the cost of some time and a can of brake cleaner. The rear Calipers were slightly more challenging but I removed both Calipers and eventually removed the shaft and cleaned the assembly up, re greased and all was well, although I have struggled to find new weather proofing rubber covers in the aftermarket. Not sure how hands you are but it is DIY achievable if Lexus or the dealer refuse you any help. Hope they come to the party and support you.
  2. I am looking to change my 2007 for a 2010/11 lower Co derivative so hoping that the MPG will improve and the lower road fund fee would be a positive as well ! Has anyone gone from older to newer and seen any significant change ?
  3. EUROPARTS (http://www.eurocarparts.com) I find that they are a reliable source and price and quality of parts ordered have been very good for my 220D.
  4. I drive 14 miles to and from work each day( Not on any major A Roads) and if I drive my 220D like a milk float I can get 42/44 mpg according to the on board fuel economy calculator !! If I drive in a traditional manner and don't use 6th gear then 37 is the usual. !!!! My 220D is well serviced, EGR cleaned and generally very well maintained. Great car but far from the best on MPG for a diesel. My next Lexus will be a petrol 250 but I really do like the 220D.
  5. I sent an email to : information@ld.lexus.co.uk with full VIN and VRM for my 2007 220D. My car did fall into the build time frame for the rectification issue but was not required to be presented at a dealer for repair ? Thank you for your email to Lexus. I have checked your vehicle registration number on the look up facility on our website, and I am pleased to confirm that your vehicle is not affected by the voluntary recall and you need take no further action. Please accept our apologies for any anxiety this may have caused you. If you have any other concerns or queries, please feel free to contact your local Lexus Centre.
  6. Hi, You mentioned 220's so I am interested if this will function on my 2007 / 220D as it would be excellent to have the ability to tweak a few of the minor settings without having to raid the bank for dealer labour charges. Cheers
  7. Yes, exactly, mine got lazy on the starter and I was pleased it was only the battery, one cell was u/s on test. Now she spins up first go.
  8. Just changed the battery on my IS220D at 6 1/2 years and 91,000 miles . I changed it for a Calcium Tech LION http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Lexus_IS_2.2_2007/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444773351&1&571d18d2e1fea15915da2f67556b0c47a7e5162c&000020 at £75. The batter has the correct sized 17.9 and 19.5 posts. Plenty of variants about on the net and in stores but this has always been my prefered source for parts.
  9. Thanks for the prompt, Yes, all clean and free of any road dirt, still a bit puzzled and hoping to find a simple solution rather than biting the bullet and letting Lexus sort it, need a bank loan for that one :arrrggg-matey:
  10. Has anyone experienced the same issue with sensors failing.? When I start the car the proximity sensors clearly have an issue since the fail tone continues for ten seconds. Any advice regarding simple checks to carry out or a reset procedure would be appreciated before I have to take the car to a dealer for an expensive diagnosis and repair. Cheers
  11. Has anyone changed the front hubs and discs on their iS220d. Did you use OE Lexus or aftermarket and if not OE what brand did you use? What issues did you encounter whilst changing? The front o/s hub is noisy so I think the pair should be changed and the discs are showing signs of wear at 88K so likewise time to change as its all stripped down. Appreciate your comments and advice. Cheers
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400401974132?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I bought 10 of these clips from eBay for £2.25 post included. They are 1mm to large for the holes but took me 10 mins to open the holes and they are considerably more robust than the original clips and can be removed and refitted over and over again for service work. I did by two packs as there are 15 engine bay trim clips. certainly a major improvement over the standard and cheap as chips. They are intended for SUBARU TOYOTA LEXUS PLASTIC BUMPER PANEL TRIM CLIPS FASTENERS.
  13. Google whilst searching for service information.
  14. I got 3 x CR1632 Panasonic cells from ebay post paid for £2.95, shocking prices around from some dealers !
