  1. ^ Many thanks for the above. I have to confirm my build date with Stoke at the end of May, so if I can get a demo with a saving I'll be happy. Do dealerships allow you to spec/order a model then buy it as a demo or is that a big no no?
  2. Have to say Rayaans the white F sport look damn smart under the sunshine On the Lexus used website there is a section" negotiate on this car". I am absolutely rubbish at haggling for cars and I find it soul destroying! How do you guys manage to get a discount with a decent p/x. My last two cars were business leases so I really wasn't too bothered but this is going to be bought personally so I want a decent saving.
  3. Lexus Reading have a new gen RX premier for £51950. Big saving on new.
  4. The LC500h msrp will be £82500 , all options included ( Carbon roof will be an option. No 21 inch option the 500h). The UK is unlikely to get the LC500 due to CO2 regs. Autocar are saying £60000. I wish car journalists would stop converting $ to £.
  5. Porsche are giving £4500 of a Cayenne Hybrid. It's not a straight up discount as such. They basically adjust the APR on the finance deal so you put in much less as an initial deposit, and add a small dealer deposit contribution to sweeten the deal. If you just walk in and say I want a new Cayenne the salesperson will say " We don't offer discounts ". It's when they know you are serious that this info comes out. The £1000 of the RX is being offered by the Scotland dealership if I'm not mistaken. The cheeky buggers are adding £600 as a credit arrangement fee. So be careful if ordering through them. On another note , I was looking at the Pistonheads forum and there was a gent looking to buy a new Range Rover. Apparently he was told there is a huge waiting list etc etc and he will have to wait 12months. How true this is I have no idea. Sounds like bo****s to me!
  6. Details of LC500h drivetrain via lexus enthusiast. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/02/18/introducing-the-lexus-lc-500h-hybrid-coupe/
  7. This is why I can't understand Leeds attitude towards a discount/higher part ex. All I've been getting is it's in high demand and if you get a deal somewhere else ring us to see if we can match it! Well clearly it isn't and I've got better things to do. I've ordered through Stoke as they were quite open from the start and very little BS.
  8. Lincoln have their RX Premier up at £60440. Can't understand these wild differences in price between various dealerships. As far as I can see the specs aren't that different from each other. Are they chancing it?
  9. Dealer/manufacturer contributions aren't too far away imo. There is no real usp with this RX ( low co2, high mpg etc) so it's inevitable.
  10. Did they give an indication on the value of your RX as p/x?
  11. My local Lexus dealer told me there is a big waiting list for the 2016 RX. Ermmm no there isn't! Like the old joke about car dealers. How do you know when your car salesman is lying? When he starts talking!
  12. I'm disappointed that Lexus didn't go down the plug-in route with the RX. That would have been ideal. In all probability if they had then the RX would have been in line for the £5000 grant. The Cayenne doesn't qualify for it. The Cayenne should not be compared with the RX imo but against the Range Rover/RR sport. I don't know why these magazines do it!
  13. The RX has aged well bodywise. The interior hasn't unfortunately. It's a superbly engineered car that's for sure and will last a long time.
  14. They price it lot above what it would realistically be sold at. Old gen Rx Premier is still advertised for £49k, which is ridiculous imo. They will either be sat on the lot for a long time or the dealership will give you £8000 deposit "contribution" to take out their pcp package. Personslly I would go in with a really lowball offer and take it from there. Get the finance and deposit contribution and pay it off within the 14 day cooling off period.
  15. They WERE giving massive discounts on the old gen. I was offered a brand new old gen RX F Sport ( unregistered)with £9300 off in Nov 15. Most of the old gen's are now pre registered with silly high prices. The one I was offered is now for sale for more than £2500 than what I would have paid for it brand new! Try to source an unregistered one if you can.
  16. Agree with Rayaans. Test drive all of them. Advance, F-Sport and Premier and then decide. I bought a Premier NX but after driving the F Sport NX the Premier NX seems crashy, but it doesn't have all the toys. I am 6 ft 4 inches and 37 and also suffer from a bad back ( through playing too much tennis) and that's the reason I chose a NX , making entry/exit really easy. The RX is a tad higher, so taking into account your height it will be a doddle .
  17. Last year Benfield sold their Toyota/Lexus (Wakefield & Leeds) dealerships to Lookers. Apparently Lookers offloaded these sharpish at the end of December 2015. So no idea what's going on. I gather the Brum dealership is quite big, if not THE biggest in the UK. I could be wrong.
  18. Lexus Leeds have been sold again! From Lookers to the Vantage Motor Group, who also operate Lexus Birmingham.
  19. Congratulations on your order. I've also placed an order, Mica Blue with Noble Brown interior. It is the near to perfect car for my needs. I drove it at a manufacure sponsored event and I loved it. I have also driven the competition. Being objective , the Cayenne is better in every respect, but it's also a lot more expensive. Regarding X5, XC90 etc it's subjective, so entirely upto the individual purchasing it. Btw, why give up the RCF so early? Are you the same person discussing the RC-F on Pistonheads? Now that's another forum with "special" opinions😜.
  20. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/lexus/rx/first-drives/2016-lexus-rx450h-premier-review The comments section seem to attract "special" people!
  21. The recent cold weather has affected the mpg somewhat. I am averaging 35.8 overall per fill. It still beats the competition according to fuelly.com.... and no diesel clatter. By no means is the NX brilliant but, it's ticking most of the boxes and I'm content with what it's good at👌
  22. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/lexus/rx/first-drives/2015-lexus-rx-450h-premier-review So this "journalist " likes the car with no real negatives to speak of and still gives it 3.5 stars 😴
  23. The Brit motoring journalists ( Autocar ..ahem) are testing the RX in Lisbon over the next couple of days. Expect crap reviews soon 😜
  24. Hi My issue is I have gone for the premium Nav system and Lexus had to get one of their customers to get it working for me, additionally I have a Samsung S5 and the phone connects but it will not download messages. Did you buy your NX from Leeds?
  25. Entered details into Carwow for the CURRENT gen RX. Cheapest was Lincoln Lexus. Passed this info to Leeds to see if they could match . Answer was a firm no. Reason being since it's a new model no discounts for atleast 6 -12 months and if they are offering discounts, their allocations will be cancelled. Took this to be a load of BS. Rang Lincoln to place a firm order....... and the deal has been pulled. Leeds were right. Absolutely no chance of a discount. Salesman told me to order for September delivery in case Lexus offer any incentives.
