It's been sat on the drive today and it's been raining. I started it up and the check VSC light was already on as I started the car.

Hi guys, I need some help. My check VSC light comes on Intermittently. This has been going on for a few months. The strange thing is. It only comes on in wet weather. I've tried booking it in with a specialist but by the time my appointment arrived the weather was dry and the light had gone back out. I reset the ecu the other day by disconnecting the battery and it went out. It's raining today and the light is back on. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Also I was thinking of getting a techstream off Ebay and try and check it myself. What are your thoughts. My nearest specialist is 30/45 mins away and they are always busy so hard to get the car booked in on a wet day when the light is on. The garage has said they can only read the fault code if the light is on. Regards Malik.

Apologies for the late reply. No I didn't get the gromets changed when I had my tyres changed. You can get the Falkens a lot cheaper. I found them for £66.50 but you have to have them fitted yourself. I got a letter and a phone call too for my GS300. Recall regarding the fuel pressure sensor. Goes in on the 17/06.

1. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance (load rating 98 as opposed to factory fit 94) £100.16 What speed index are you going for v or w? These would be my choice and most likely the next tyres I put on. I was going to go for Falken Ziex ZE914 Ecorun runflats.

Apologies for the late reply. You can reuse the chrome tips. No need to buy new ones. Just get some chrome Polish on them. With a bit of force they just slide off. I was going to go SS route but really glad I went oem in the end thanks to good advice from here.

I had the same problem. Was going to go the stainless steel route then decided against. Main deal quoted me the same. Approx £600. I ended up getting it discounted as the car was 10 years old. I think I paid £500. I can double check for you if you need me too. Mal.

Hi guys, I had the gs300 serviced today at jem lexus. They advised me that my brake pads will need changing in the next 2k miles and that my disks had a slight lip on them. So I'm guessing both disks and pads will need changing. What are my options. Shall I get main dealer parts or is there another option that's worth while. Guys just for the record I got the exhaust from lexus for £408 and fitting at my local garage was £36. I reused my chrome exhaust tips and am very happy the cars running as it should again. I'm glad I paid the extra and went for oem. Stainless steel at longlife was £350 oem was £444 Lexus gave me 20% off the price of the exhaust which was exellent. Had it been £508 I probably would have gone stainless steel route as £200 more was a bit too much. Hope this helps. Regards Mal.

Good call. I bought the gs because it was a quiet drive. I don't want to compromise on that. One thing I am going to do is spray the joints on the system with high temp exhaust spray. Most likely not going to do anything but I've got a can sitting around and it may give the joints a extended life.

Hi guys, my 2005 mk3 Gs300 is at 85k and has a service coming up. It has full lexus service history and I plan to keep the car for around 3 years doing approx 12k a year. My question is what are other members doing with regards to servicing. Are you sticking to main dealer going specialist or going the 3rd route. Regards Mal.

Thanks for all you help guys. In the end I went oem. I'm planning to keep the car for at least 3 years and for the sake of £100 it's not worth it. Atleast I know what I'll be ending up with. I'll be picking up the backboxes from lexus tomorrow and my local exhaust centre is going to fit them on for me. Total cost was £450 ouch :( Once again thanks for all you help was much appreciated. right guys I need some advice please. I've got a quote for an oem backbox and longlife backbox. The price difference is a £100 fitted. I'd like to go with longlife but I'm worried about the noise. The longlife guy has said he will chamber both backboxes and they will be quiet. I know the oem will be quiet but it's a £100 more in price. I'm taking the car to a garage today. The guys going to inspect the centre section and also check out the backboxes that he'll be fitting for me if I go the oem route. Really hoping the centre section is in good condition. Mal.

I changed mine recently no issues other than the electric windows wouldn't move. Looked it up on the forum and was a easy fix. If I remember rightly somthing like holding the window switch on the specific door for a number of seconds.
