:tsktsk: So sorry to hear about this mate - it's been a tough few weeks for you.. Just keep ya head up, and be grateful your OK mate. I know the reg may have been changed in a matter of minutes, but.. is there no way the motorway cameras that read your reg, could have picked up on your car IF it was taken on a motorway. (i.e. they can zoom in a pick out certain details - just a thought). Hope you get the matter resolved mate.

You should do what I do mate, when I'm in that situation - use the jet to 'jet' everything off, and use a sponge and bucket from home to go over the car with! Don't let the brush anywhere near it - I fill the bucket up with the hot soap that comes out of it.. and wash away.. :)

What sort of price are we talking mate ? (roughly) @ Chris ....... i'll get the number from you too mate ... nothing wrong with shopping around ! ← I think roughly £80 mate.. I think it would be cheaper if you don't need a courtesy car or something. Or you could drive without a bumper, or is that illegal.. ;)

Ben, is it like a mirror finish - i.e. they colour sanded it. Or it is quite orange peely? - which is often the finish on repairs. The reason I ask, is because the rear bumper is quite big, and can take a fair amount of work and prep to get right..

Not sure if you've test driven one or not - but it might be an idea for you to do so before you buy... That way you'll know if you find it 'sluggish' or not? If so.. you may want to consider a 300..

For the minimal difference between chipsaway and bodyshop, and the quality of work between the 2, I' say take it to a bodyshop.. Chipsaway work is only as good as the technician who does it. At least in a bodyshop you can get it done in a proper environment - I'm not too keen on 'out in the open' spraying, especially with the recent weather! Only my own opinion mind you :D Good luck with it..

I did this, and took it down to Lexus, and they swapped the tyre over with the spare for free! They do look after you a times..

Tree fell down right on the University road, I managed to steer round it, as I saw a taxi driver ahead do the same... went straight to the security hut and informed them - but was too late.. A car following on further behind wasn't so lucky and smashed straight into it!! He was not best pleased!
