  1. My car has the regular 6 speaker set up (Advance model) and it was the one big weak point for me. Ended up going to a local specialist and had a subwoofer fitted in the boot (fits in the lip towards the back). The sound balance has been moved back to neutral and honestly it's made a world of difference, much better balance, more clarity, well worth the 400 pound purchase and installation it cost.
  2. I know this is an old thread, but with regards to the OP, I too went to Rhosili in the last few days, what do i notice on return? Stone chip! Googled what to do and it leads me here. The place is deadly!
  3. Dropped the car at the dealership, supposedly a simply lead out place, quick wash, car handed back, all is well!
  4. Actually they didn't, said they'd never seen that before after toggling with the settings, will try this evening Thanks for that!
  5. The power button as in the ignition? I did not know that was a thing! Might try that tomorrow.
  6. Indeed, went to see them briefly today and they were stumped, so to be booked in this week. Very weird!
  7. Manually set position today, driven twice and still no GPS picking up. Strange!
  8. Might see how to go about that. With regards to the antenna, not sure how that would happen given it hasn't moved in 2 weeks to be honest. But worth keeping in mind!
  9. I had a chance to switch it off and briefly had it on this morning, will be making a journey this evening but when I checked today the GPS sign still had a line through it. Don't know if it'll need like a couple hour run to pick things up again? I manually calibrated it's position to outside my house again but still waiting for things to track. Wondering if there's a way to boot it up again or something.
  10. Hello everyone It's been a couple of weeks since I've used my IS300H and today when I went to run some errands I noticed the sat nav failed to pick up a GPS signal, spent an hour driving around the city with no pick up, any idea why this might be? Bit worried at the total failure to pick up a signal, is the fact it wasn't used for a couple of weeks an issue? Any troubleshooting tips?
  11. So today I had a small subwoofer installed into the boot of the car, slots perfectly in the groove deep in the boot, had an audio company do it and what a huge difference it has made to the 6 speaker set up, much needed boost and richness to the sound. Still plenty of room left for my things!
  12. Just ordered myself a subwoofer, small one to go in the boot. Considered sticking it in the empty housing but speaking to an expert said it would be a much more expensive job requiring a lot of stripping and extra sound proofing. Feel the 6 speaker set up could do with a bit more to it. Might change out the speakers eventually!
  13. After a few months owning the 300H id have to agree that "spirited" driving doesn't suit the hybrid drivetrain, that said in sport mode, i find it really impressive for overtaking, pretty much the only time I use it. Otherwise I've really come to appreciate the way to IS just eats the miles. I appreciate it for the waftmobile it is. And not a peep from the engine. Sublime.
  14. Yes, I think it is a dummy unit - the good thing being, that if you do want a sub, you can just stick one in there! I think its just a way of cost-cutting on the production line - its easier to make one parcel shelf and not fill it with a subwoofer than making two variants for different trim levels. Good point, I plan to do exactly that!
  15. I've got the Advancr which has the standard 6 speaker set up, what is it that's sitting on the parcel shelf then? Is it like a dummy unit? What's the point in that!
  16. When the iPod is hooked up by USB i find the 6 speaker (plus subwoofer?) set up really rather good, doesn't need high volume. DAB music though is woeful, compressed so much I simply never bother.
  17. Advance comes with 6 but it's got a central speaker in the parcel shelf as well, hence the thought it's a subwoofer, it's in the same spot as the subwoofer on that ML set up.
  18. Had my car a couple of months now and have to say I love it. 1,200 miles done so far and things have been smooth as so far. One question I've got, anybody with an Executive oR advance worked out what the speaker on the parcel shelf is for? I'm guessing it's not for music given only 6 speakers are listed. Subwoofer? Or is it for the Active engine noise feature? Also what settings have people found best for music? Sorry if this has been asked before!
  19. That's strange, should not be the case, I've been through areas with no signal and the iPod has continued to function, I'm guessing reboots and re-connections have not helped? Only irritating aspect from my point of view is that occasionally my car forgets I'm using the iPod for audio and the phone for calls and reverts to having the phone cover both.
  20. I did the same, got on the new iPod touch, works so much better than the classic did. My only issue is occasionally the system forgets I set up my iPhone for telephone duties and iPod for audio, and assigns both functions to one of them.
  21. First up I'd echo what's been said about the stereo, first thing I would do is alter the audio settings balance to the rear gives a more natural sound. I've only done 400 miles since I've picked mine up and I'd say there is definitely a "way" to driving that I'm adjusting to, which I'm sure someone can explain more accurately than I could at the moment. Enjoy it!
  22. Speaking of the RC, I do wish there was an IS350 or RC350. but I guess from Lexus point of view there simply isn't a market for it for the number of cars they sell every year. 200t should be interesting when it turns up, I wonder if they'll stick it in the CT....
  23. Picked up my Advance in June, no HDD. Love the car, though, only done 250 miles since picking it up, not even half way through my first tank of petrol!
  24. Something I would point out is that certain ways of listening do sound better than others. For example, plugging in my iPod via USB port sounds better than the auxiliary cable, which sounds a little weak, but that could be down to the iPod classic being known to lack volume.
