Afternoon everyone!
I'd like to finally introduce myself, my name is Charlie I'm 21 from Newcastle under Lyme. on Wednesday the 31st of January I purchased an absolutely perfect example of an ISF from Lexus Liverpool in Bootle, its a 2008 Starfire pearl with just 38k miles. I was trying to wait until I had actually collected the car which was supposed to be yesterday morning but due a "technical difficulty" an invoice could not be produced for some bizarre reasons but I understood that these things can and do happen.
The situation has since been resolved with Lexus apologizing for the inconvenience and delay and have offered to put me in the misses up in formby hotel and spa for the night prior to collection with lifts arranged both from the trains station to the hotel and the hotel back to lexus, they have also promised a 1st class showroom experience so I'm eager to see what awaits. I'm absolutely thrilled by the experience I've had with Lexus and can not wait to pick the car up on Tuesday morning. (Bar the mess around with pieces of paper).
I've been a member of the forum for about 4 years now but on the IS200 side so it's a fair upgrade but I just couldn't bring myself to part with the IS so I'm keeping it for just a daily.
I really can't wait to meet all my fellow Lexus members at future events and just chatting on the forums!
I don't really have any photos of the car yet, I used my eyes on the day and I thought I'd be driving away in it in 2 days time but have an advert shot or 2!😁
Thanks

Sure, it's the cheapest around but it's that much lower than most because you can buy one with half the mileage for 3-4k more. I assume it hasn't got full lexus history.
They are all on the same plate though. They was another silver one on autotrader for £15000 2008 model with 94k miles and that shifted after..some time may I add

Looks a pretty genuine car to me . Full service history. And its got a outstanding mot history. It's passed every year apart from one . And it only failed on worn tyres. Worth a look
It doesn't look to bad right? Maybe it's priced low to sell. Everybody knows it's a even a good example sits for months and now doubt some deal is made. Personally for me silver wasn't on my top list but at that price I could have it sprayed which ever colour I wanted and still probably have a couple of penny's spare as apposed to buying the next available one which is black at £15,995.
Just waiting on the dealer to get back to me..
P.s the dealer it self doesn't look like the most classy looking of the sort but it is in london.
My dad brought a vxr8 about 6 months ago and he brought it from a garage that had purchased it for £7000.. £7000!🤔 He got a deal on it but it emphasizes the point of some people just want it gone giving the dealer the opportunity to low ball... Maybe

Anyone got any information on this ISF for sale on autotrader http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201705195611707?make=LEXUS&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&model=IS F&sort=sponsored&postcode=ba11rj&radius=1500&advertising-location=at_cars&page=1
Simply to cheap to believe so any information would be helpful! Just waiting on a response from the dealer themselves.

Sorry mate I've been mega busy with work recently this is my first time checking back in.
The search is still at large. Still keeping my on the the autotrader but no new ones on the market. Seen a white one on eBay for £16,995 and its to far for me to go and look at on my day off. Any one checked that one out? And did anyone buy the 11 plate USB ISF on autotrader with white interior? Wanted £18,990? That was a beaut!

Talking of blue ones this has just come on the market and would you just look at the price, they seem to have there headline picture a bit mixed up as well 🙄

34k!? Jesus ***** alive that's alot of money. Lexus had the rarest colour in the F for sale a month of 2 ago. 1 of 5 in the colour they had that was on for 37 and I bet they got sick of having that in the showroom and sold it at auction. Will never sell at that price its such a shame. I'd happily offer him 20 😂

Every day there seem to be less and less nice clean examples with FLSH and a complete stock setup. I guess what I am saying is that unless you are very patient, I wouldn't get too hung up on colour.
All down to personal taste, but I'd go for any colour except red, which doesn't suit the car and black which is so boring.
Finally go into ISF ownership with eyes open. Reliability per buck, I still think the ISF is unbeatable, but things do go wrong, and when they do, parts are expensive and you'll potentially be in the hands of Lexus stealers and a warranty system that isn't necessarily as good as you may think
Was a rare car to begin with, its only going to get rarer. Do like the blue but not the price tag that comes with it so a compromise had to made somewhere. Intrigued to hear more about you warrenty system? Would you not recommend? What sort of things have gone wrong I'm your own experiences?
Thanks

good luck! Silver blends into the crowd but is, some might say, somewhat dull. I like that though. The other day someone came over and said "that's an ISF isn't it? wow". You know they are a proper petrol head....
If you get a silver one, you could always wrap it..
I paid £21k ish 3 years ago for a 2008 with sunroof that at the time had 44k miles ish.
It's now got 75k miles. Might as well use the thing eh?
Dave
Would you mind shooting me some pics of your silver steed over bud? The more I look at the silver ones the more I warm to them...🤔
I agree with the wrap idea to with the difference in price between certain silver ones and other colours I could have a complete new respray and still have change in my pocket.
You've got to use it.. its a shame not to 😉

@ThebigC Charlie you've come to the right shop, great decision by you as well all accept the not wanting a Silver one...... cough cough 😊
Seriously though if something comes up in the Southwest and you want someone to give it a once over before you travel happy to help.
As @Farqui says comprise is something to bear in mind there are only a little over 200 in the country left now. Not all by now are standard if that's something else that may concern you.
I have a list of the cars that were press/ magazine cars that will have led a full and exercised life !
But these cars are virtually bomb proof in most respects.
Now the search begins have fun 👍
Big Rat
I know you are a good bunch I must admit. Half the reason I like the lexus club is you all speak to each other with abit of respect. Something uncommon in world today let alone the forum communities. Think my silver comment was abit rash they do look nice in silver just when you have a blue white or red next to it they look abit plain. Anyone got a silver ISF and wouldn't mind chucking some photos up I'd much appreciate it. Well any colour for that matter who doesn't enjoy seeing ISF's?
Thanks for the offer dude! Be good to actually go look at one with someone who owns one and knows their stuff so I may hold you to that offer 😉
Never see any problems with these cars which is why I want one. I was after a V8, I wanted reliability and comfort, I did my research and I landed on this. Haven't changed my mind since now I just need to buy one and satisfy myself!
Thanks

Best of luck in your search. I suspect that you'll need to compromise somewhere given the rarity of the car - but you never know :)
Thanks mate. Yeah I'll definitely have to compromise but I've waited to long to just settle for 2nd best I feel.
1 hour ago, Farqui said:6 on AT at the moment under £20k, starting from £13.5k for an '09 with FSH in Silver tho. Alas none in your preferred colour choice - they are mostly Black or Silver.
Under £25k I see a couple of Blue's.
As @ronaldo mentioned, a compromise may be needed but keep looking and hopefully you'll find one.
Good luck.
I watch autotrader religiously for the ISF and I've tracked the market for about 5 months now 😂. I've seen the blue ones and they have sat advertised for a while, probably some room for negotiation though.

Morning all,
As title suggest after a lexus ISF. Have been in the market for one for a while but everyone I've been interested in was either to much or sold before I could get my hands on it.
My absolute max is 20k and I will NOT pay more than 17k on a 2008. I was watching one on auto trader that was a 2010 and that sold for 19,995 the day before I rang him! (Typical). Ideally I'd like blue white or Mesa red but really am open to any apart from silver.
Mileage isn't a issue Aslong as its looked after. Service history for me is a big one. I want it and I need it. Not looking to cut corners I'm looking to spend this money once and only once 😂.
Sunroof would be a big plus for me as I'd rather have it not need it than need it and not have it. And black interior is also something I would prefer but white interior looks awesome and if its maintained properly I'll take it that too.
Look forward to hearing from you guys.
Thanks

Would love a GSF if they ever come into the 20k range I may be persuaded

Don't think your going to have that problem with the ISF mate. If you looking for one chances are you've already done your research and now you just have to do so the right spec.
I'd expect some people to come and not come back but that's to be expected with a rare car. I did it with the one at torque for 2 reasons.
1 colour was not for me.
2 it was actually the first time I'd been close to one and a wanted to know how it drove with me thinking the auto would put me off. So it was a tester on all bases for me.
If yours is the mesa red one in your profile picture I'd also appreciate some details! Love that colour!
-
The only thing I can say about the ISF that your talking about in Lexus Guildford is that although it is stupidly priced, that particular example is a 1 in 5, in mercury grey so they more than likely are holding it with a collector in mind as a future buyer.

No no defiantly doesn't sound biased😉 @Warrington guy can you send me a message with some details bud?
Thanks guys!

16k.. I could pull more for the right one😊

I went and had a look at the one in torque motors, very nice chaps in there. The ISF is lovely..couldn't find any faults with it looking around it and driving it. Goes like the clappers just wasn't taken away by the colour as I was with white or blue.
Still waiting for the right one and i have been looking for months

If it's the mercury grey one it's because there is only 5 in the country

Hi the turbo kit will be worth more than the whole car
Not what was asked though bud

Andy! Thank you for posting this! I to have seen his kits and toyed with the idea alot recently.. have the same skepticism and you did with past work and his reliability but I think your post lay that to rest. Would you recommend chucking a couple a grand at my IS200?
Iv toyed with supercharger but couldn't find one anywhere!
I toyed with the idea of finding an RS200 3sge beams engine which I can find but not sure if all the hassle is worth it.. nor really enough detailed posts about it without people saying "just get the Is300" which obviously if I wanted to I would of.
Which only really leaves the turbo upgrade.. would you recommend? What you do differently having owned it a year now? And lastly was it all worth it in the end!?!
Thanks!
